Having blood drawn

I have to have blood drawn every month to get it tested, and I learned three months ago (the first time that I had it drawn) that I'm totally prone to passing out. Tomorrow I have to give blood for the third time, and I'm dreading it. Here's what happened when I passed out:

-was blind for 3+ minutes

-the nurse kept putting ammonia in my face and it took a few seconds for me to smell it

-couldn't talk

-my hearing got...weird

It was an interesting experience...but I hope it doesn't happen again. Afterwards I am going to check a few stores for Bionicle, since apparently Target restocks toys on Tuesdays.

Don't like needles/blood? Or is it the passing out that requires the blood tests? Or are they just drawing insane amounts of blood? O_o

You have my sympathies. I'm terrible with needles, and while I've never had to give blood I've almost passed out from just having my finger pricked. I imagine I would completely pass out if I actually were to have to give blood.

I'm not entirely sure. Something about giving blood just makes me really queezy! I don't think I have a phobia of needles though.

The father of a friend of mine is that way with blood, so you aren't alone in that regard. While I mind neither needle nor blood, I've always found it helpful to look away when getting shots or if a needle is being put into my arm. Once it's in I can look all day long, but it seems to hurt less when I don't watch. Maybe that might help you? Don't look at the blood, maybe you'll have less issues with unconsciousness? *shrug*

Thanks, I actually look away the entire time and haven't seen the needle once :P I gave blood earlier today and it went alright! No passing out this time, and afterwards I was able to grab the Protector of Ice.

The second they recommend I look away that stupid needle draws my gaze like a magnet. If they didn't say anything I'd be fine but it's like I take that as a challenge when they say it.
