Three Shades of Vohtarak

I recently acquired an interesting piece that I hadn't even heard about or seen until this year for quite a steal.

I present to you, a pearl gold Vohtarak shell.

Compared to the other two colors at a couple different angles.

I had heard about PG Masks of Shadows from the metru nui playsets, but never Vohtarak shells. As far as I know, there are only two owners of said shells, both on BZP. I don't know if I was out of the loop or what, but have any of you guys heard about PG Vohtarak shells?

While the "new gold" was introduced in 2006, the color change preceded the end of production on the 2005 sets. While the shells seem to be rarer than the Masks of Shadows, they're not particularly uncommon.

"Pearl Light Gold"?

Even Bricklink calls the newer color just Pearl Gold, with the older, darker color being Pearl Dark Gold. "Pearl Light Gold" on Bricklink refers almost exclusively to the terrible washed-out gold of the early C-3PO minifigs (and some Knights Kingdom II parts, but only because Bricklink can't correctly identify similar metallic colors to save their life).

In Lego's official terminology, the newer gold is the much more descriptive "Warm Gold", while the older Takanuva gold is Sand Yellow Metallic (which, like most of the Rahkshi colors that existed alongside it, is named according to its closest non-metallic equivalent).
