How NOT to put out a Fire

Toa Smoke Monster

So I heard this story on the radio earlier today. A few days ago, a guy was burning garbage in a field when the fire began to grow out of his control. He decided that the best way to put it out was to run it over repeatedly with his van. Not the best idea, but it gets even worse.

As he notices that the tires on his van were on fire, he remembers a very crucial detail that he apparently forgot about his van. Not only did it have a full tank of gas, the van also had firearm ammunition in it. Realizing what was about to happen, the man abandoned his van and let it be consumed by the fire.

A local Sheriff's deputy happened to see the smoke from the burning van and went to investigate. He found the burning van and then the owner of it watching it burn nearby. The deputy reported hearing the ammunition going off in the burning van.

Firefighters managed to put out the burning vehicle and the fire caused by the burning garbage, and thankfully no one was harmed from the incident. But let this be a lesson to all of you: Vans with a full tank of gas and filled with firearm ammunition do not make for good fire extinguishers. This should be obvious, but I guess it still needs to be said.

That is all.

Yes... burning garbage.  He certainly wasn't burning bodies and then destroying the vehicle that transported them to remove all evidence.   Whatever would give you that idea?

People, please. Come on. This man's statement was that all vans are terrible and must be put down for the better of humanity.
