I actually rather like #4. It's simple yet effective in it's message. So yeah, voting for #4

#1, though the picture is so darn dark, and doesn't do the cleaver entry justice.

#4.  It is so simple and yet is portrays the climax of 2008 so effectively.  I love it.

Chrome puts transparencies on a dark gray background, though it seems to be a different shade on different platforms: on desktop the gray is light enough that I can still see your design just fine, but I just checked on mobile and the gray is so dark you can barely see the image :/

Just wanted to say that I also really appreciate the cleverness of the first design- well done Bfahome!
