amazing...

I realized I am skilled at many things, but none are needed in the current job market (I am not a programmer. I should be a programmer. People only seem to want programmers these days). Furthermore, at the same time I am overqualified for regular small jobs. This is not fun. :<

So yeah the plan is now to study informatics (and learn programming :> ) and at the same time find something to financially support myself enough to get by somehow.

This feeling. I know it well.

I wish you all the luck, especially if you are venturing out to learn programming. I've tried, one of things that would certainly help me, but I just can't wrap my head around it.

Where do you live? I'm currently attending one of the top five IT programs in the country, and we're not doing any programming, because there are many other jobs in the IT sector that don't require that specific knowledge - at least in this area. The program's rate of employment upon graduation is 98 percent, BTW.

I feel similar to this. I would have to aim to become a professor in history, and I am not sure if I want to teach for a living, and considering my specialties (medieval and late antiquity history) it may be too 'controversial' and I may have to both fight the system while working just so I can teach. I have other skills, but not only am I not sure if anyone ahs use for them, but also seeing how volatile society is becoming and confusing  propaganda lies I see through just makes me want to retreat into a cabin where I would grow for my own food and medicine, and live near a small town for necessary purchases.

Thanks! (I'll need it ^^)

Well that's really cool for you! I know some people who are studying informatics here, and I see them doing an awful lot of programming, also with different languages and stuff, so I think I'd get the necessary practise. :) (I mean, I am capable of basic programming and scripting stuffs, but I'd love to acquire proper skills.)

I feel you. Living in a cabin somewhere removed from everything sounds like a great plan... also, might work with some art freelancing, as long as I have some sort of internet access... ^^
