I Haff Entaired Zee Contest!

For the Storyline and Theories contest, obviously.

Here's the entry post.

Here's the MOC topic.

And here's the bio in case you're too lazy to click the links above:

History

The Judgement Cannon is a unique weapon, shrouded in mystery. Few have heard of its existence, and those who know of it guard their knowledge closely. It was commissioned way back in the heyday of the Hand of Artahka, by Artahka himself. It was conceived as a weapon to decisively end any conflict, even before it began. Its top-secret status is a safety measure to prevent it falling into the wrong hands. The fear is that its workings might be modified to produce the opposite effect and keep a conflict raging long after it would normally have been resolved, or end it in victory for the forces of evil. It is unknown whether the Order of Mata Nui still has a working Judgement Cannon. Even if it does, to use it indiscriminately would risk revealing its existence to the enemy.

What It Does

The Cannon has the ability to destroy an enemy’s will to fight. The affected target becomes disillusioned with violence. His or her fighting morale is turned into a desire for peace and harmony. Paradoxically, it can also strengthen the target’s resolve to fight, if it is justified by sound moral principles.

How It Works

The Cannon is a psionic weapon, affecting the target’s mind. It focuses a ray of psionic energy created by a colony of specially bred protodites living inside it. The ray is emitted as a constant stream while the trigger is depressed. Its power level can be boosted by the user’s own mind, if he or she is sufficiently advanced in mental techniques. Its effectiveness depends chiefly on the calibre of the target’s mind: a simple foe is quickly dispatched, whereas a complex being is more resistant. Additional resistance is offered by deep mental conditioning.

Cheers,

-BC
