Turakii! From Yesteryear...to Today
Today is my one-year anniversary, aka Vahi Day. That means I have been a member of the Wonderful World of BZP for one year. Exactly one year.
So, I'm going to use this entry to clear up some misunderstandings, reveal some secrets, and completely embarrass myself. What a way to spend your one-year anniversary...
Okay, first things first. Turakii #1 Lavasurfer joined BZPower on Aug 22, 2005, 4:07 PM, and is proud to have never changed the username.
After only a few days, Turakii sent out Turakii's first Personal Message, and soon received Turakii's first Personal Message:
I was looking through the old topics in Completely of Topic and saw your Dalek picture. Unfortunately, I was too late to post how good I thought your picture was, as it's been more than twenty days, so I'm PMing you to say that pic is SO COOL! I honestly thought at first that you had got a picture of real DALEKs out there! (The BBC does stuff like that for advertising.)
I saved it to my computer and called it, "Dalek crossing." Now I'm going to show it to every Doctor Who fan I know!
Daleks rule, and once again, great work!
thank you you are the only person that has pm'd me about my work!
What a joy it was to open the page and first spot that wonderful sign: Welcome, Turakii #1 Lavasurfer. You have 1 new message(s).
Nowadays Turakii logs on to see "Welcome, Turakii #1 Lavasurfer, you have 9 new message(s)," but that comes later.
As a Newbie, Turakii did some very newbie-ish things. To celebrate the one-year anniversary, Turakii (with many blushes and embarrassed laughs) dug up every Q&A topic Turakii started so far:
Must Your Stories Be More Than 1 Post, in the sub-comedies forum?
Can You Post One Post Comedies?, Just curious.
What is Splee?, I keep seeing it in member's sigs.
Are You Allowed To Repost A Story After It Is Gone, From the last page?
Can Short Stories Die?, Just finding out...
What Are The Rules For Making A Library?, A Library topic, that is.
Heh...
Less than a month later, Turakii looked really dumb after starting a topic titled, "Have you ever noticed?" It was accidentally started in two different places, because Turakii got a board message and didn't realize it actually went through the first time. Here are the two links:
Have You Noticed This In The B3 Trailer, on that Disney website
Have You Noticed In The B3 Trailer..., ...a very short scene about Matau?
Turakii would like to give a huge thanks to Tufi Piyufi for simply giving Turakii a warning. That was enough punishment for Turakii, and prevented the starting of many more newbie-ish topics in the future.
Shortly after joining, Turakii was invited to guest-star in Zaphod: Lord of the Shrinky Dink's comedy, Turaga Pranks. Having never guest starred before, Turakii accepted.
Turaga Pranks, by Darth Matau and Zaphod
See if you can't find my one-line appearance... (It's in chapter one.)
Since then, Turakii has guest-starred in many places, including Onuki's A Day in the Life of Nuju Ticheli and DudeNuva's Crazy Koro Happenings.
Not long after the first time guest-starring, Turakii started the very first Turakii comedy, Turakii's Match. It received no replies. (Six months later, Turakii completely rewrote it and replaced the old one with the new one. If anyone would like to read the old one, they will have to PM for it.)
However, when Turakii began a second comedy, A Shakespearean Tragedy, it got quite a few very positive replies. Thus began Turakii's comedy-writing fame. (Yeah, right.)
Turakii also posted several art topics, but those will have their own content block.
Now, on to the confusing things.
Like I said, Turakii signed up on Aug 22, 2005, 04:07 PM. At that time, the account belonged to a thirteen-year-old girl and a twelve-year old boy, both of whom were (and still are) obsessed with Bionicle.
The boy posted mostly in Bionicle Sets and Storyline and Theories, while the girl posted in the Library, Artwork 1, and General Discussion. She also used the Personal Messenger more and more frequently as they made more friends.
The account was always referred to as "he." For one thing, although the girl didn't mind being called "he," the boy hated (and understandably so) being called "she." Also, Turakii, the character the account is named after, is a Ta-Matoran. A boy Ta-Matoran.
Now, this sharing-of-account puzzled many members. Several examples include Utopia, DudeNuva, Vakontation, and Marauder. ("Oh no," you say. "He's mentioning names now.") As each person asked, Turakii explained the situation. Some shrugged and went on with life. But, by the time the girl had turned fourteen and the boy thirteen, a few non-staff members had decided it was their job to prevent further confusion, despite Turakii's assurance that everything was fine.
And so, due to those latter members' insistence, the boy PMed Black Six and soon become Quantum-Phasically Charged Traku. (Also, Turakii's mother become Macku: Toa of Bubbles.)
At this point, most of you are probably staring at your monitor with jaw dropped, saying, "Good grief! I'm reading a girl's blog!?" Some might be hitting the "back" button already, eager to get away from anything to do with females. A few might be on the ground in a dead faint.
Actually, most of your probably knew already.
However, Turakii is exactly the same person as Turakii was before Turakii began this entry. If anyone has any questions, feel free to comment them, PM them, or leave them with the secretary at the front desk (who will promptly dispose of them).
And that's it. Today, my buddy list is longer than I'll ever know. I do my very best to answer messages as soon as possible. (By the way, this is a good place to add that if you don't hear from me in three days, PM me and remind me of your message. I may have forgotten it exists.) My library is so long I have had to completely rearrange it, and more stories are on the way. I've guest-starred, co-written, and given (hopefully good) advice. And I have Premier Membership.
So that, my friends, is Turakii. From yesteryear...
To today.
Turakii
Duke Duke: Hey! I didn't get to say anything!
P.S. Art topic is here.
