Tahu Mistika Review
Aloooooonnnnnggggg time ago, I posted a Tahu Review, but I didn't know if someone reviewed all of them it would count, so it was locked. This time, I've decided to post it in my blog. So here's my review of our friend, Toa Tahu. I'll also be doing Taka soon...
Presentation
From the design of the box to the instruction manual, these are the first things you see before building the set.
As you can see Tahu's canister is very cool, probably my favorite design yet. The lid is vey neat, it has the Kanohi Mask of life, The Ignika half clean, half cracked. It's neat but who cares? Anyways so the back of the canister contains a picture of Solek and Tahu, and both of them ready for battle. The side of it contains the six Mistika Makuta and Toa's Kanohi and their set id/number. The instructions are like all the instructions, normal but you need them to build most of the time.
Building
Half the fun is had building the set. How fun is it to build and how easy or challenging is it?
The build for Tahu, too easy, it's boring but quick so.. Tahu has a basic build, the one of a piraka or something like that just with jets and some stuff tooken off. The design is great though for him. It's an easy build like I said but it can be challenging for other people that aren't very good, not to be mean. But the new pieces, awesome and fun to play with.
Set Design
Now that the set is complete, we can critique how it looks from every angle. New or interesting pieces can also be examined here.
As you can see this year has introduced some of the coolest pieces yet. Masks, weapons, etc. Here are some pics of the recolored/new pieces.
The Nyrah Ghost Blaster is very fun to play with, it's like a cordak just with larger bolts and it just doesn't get stuck, this is what I have to say about it.
Also Tahu has the Maxlios/Ignika design for his mask, there is a pin needed to attach it to the mask.
Tahu looks very heroic and streamlined for flight. He has to be one of my favorite sets this year.
Playability
The other half of the fun is in playing with the set. How well does the set function and is it enjoyable to play with?
Tahu is very fun to play with, especially with Krika.
The Shield is cool also, you can use it to defletch shadow leeches or other stuff like that. The Nyrah Ghost blaster is fun to play with, it's like the cordak, not all the shots are good. I'd say Tahu can be fun to play with but he can be a little bit boring after a while. He is definately, no kidding a excellent set for a collector because he can pose better than almost any Toa, in my opinion.
There's one of my random poses for him. That cleared up Tahu is fun to play with if you know how to do with him. If your boring, (Like me), you can still have fun with his shield and if you battle the Makuta with him.
Final Thoughts
Once it's all said and done, how does the set stack up? Should I get it?
Pros:
New Pieces
Cool canister
Good playability
Cool weapons
New Recolored pieces
Mask is awesome.
Cons:
Price
Nyrah isn't very accurate, but who cares.
Armourless Torso
The set I'd say you need it. It's very cool and has great playability and is a good choice for collectors. If your looking for the best canister set this year, this is it. Also I'd get Krika with him, they make a great combo. The price is raised on them because of oil. That's the only main problem with him otherwise, he is a great set.
Since I didn't show alot of pictures, heres the gallery, It has the resemblance of his oldest form and his newest.
If you have any questions fell free to ask.
