Mask Tier List

As I mentioned earlier, I'm doing a Bionicle Mary Sue Litimus Test. However, I'm having problems deciding how powerful each mask is in respect to other Kanohi. This is what I have so far.

Super Tier: Olmak, Tryna

High Tier: Felnas, Kakama, Paraki, Mahiki, Komau, Calix, Kandin, Huna, Volitak, Kulasi

Middle Tier: Hau, Miru, Akaku, Sanok, Iden, Arthron, Zatth

Low Tier: Kaukau, Rau, Ruru Rode

Useless Tier: Elda

This is all based off how powerful each mask in respect to others. For example, would you rather have a Rau in a battle, or a Hau? Also, we can go ahead and disregard all of the Olisi, Kraahkan, Avohkii, Aki, Rua, Vahi, and Ignika for obvious reasons.

And if you have any problems so far with my tier listings let me know.

Eldas can acutally sense other people, so.... yeah.

Also, that only seems to work in terms of combat. After all, I'm sure being fluent in 10001 rahi languages, while less useful than a hau in combat, would be more mary sue-ish.

Mohtrek, maybe between high and middle. Nothing like dying when walking down the sidewalk.

Quoting BS01...

The Kanohi Elda is the Mask of Detection. It allows the user to detect hidden beings in the area, such as an Kanohi Iden-user or a Kanohi Huna-user.

Also Quoting BS01

The Kanohi Rode is the Mask of Truth. It allows the user to see through any deception and pierce any disguise (thus, it is not possible to deceive its user). For example, the mask allows its user to see those who use a Kanohi Iden or Kanohi Huna. This mask always works at a low level, like a Kanohi Elda.

Rode allows the user to see what the Elda does and also allows the weilder to see through any tricks. Hence the Elda being in the Useless tier.

I think I just might lump all of the Makuta masks into one group due to the nom weilding Toa thing.

Unless you want to find the Ignika. the Rode can't do that.

In that case, Elda would be Super Tier, but let's be honest, how often do you see a situation in which you need to know the Ignika is there?

XD

...

...

Rau argument?

Rau, uh, although it is Sue-ish to be able to speak all the languages, it's practical application is not all that powerful. Terefore, low tier.

Legally, having dazzling raven black hair down to your waist and sparklin' sapphire eyes would be considered useless (unless all your opponents can be blow away by a kiss or something), but they are considered sue factors, no?

It's an indicator of sue, but not a sure sign. Nothing wrong with beauty, right?

But concerning your argument of about it's uselessness but sue powers, if we're going to follow that line of logic, then we're going to penalize heavily for other masks. I mean being able to deflect any attacks you know are coming (Hau) a sue power? Being able to move so fast you can move faster than the eye can see (Kakama) a sue power? Boulder lifting strength? Raising the dead? Being able to see through any falsehood? Being able to replicate any Rahi trait you see? We're basing this off the power of the mask in comparison to other masks. In that instance Rau would be low tier but in many other situations it would be Super Tier.

I think you should make one for mask designs too. I mean, the Matatu has this giant lens but leaves you with a major blind spot on the lens' side 'cuz it sticks out that much. You could easily stay right behind the person and they'd never know if you moved fast enough.

Bad dudes can be Sues too.

HEY THAT RHYMEZ

Void because masks can take different forms than the ones presented in the sets.

Yes, but normally you see only toa using Kanohi powers. Toa aren't supposed to be using masks with traits associated with Makuta. Thus if you're a Toa using one, you're showing tendencies of a Sue.

Silly, there's always random people on the street during your journey. The Tryna is a mask only fit for wartime.

And carry their bodies with you? In the midst of a pitched battle the tryna would be incredibly useful because you could give all your dead mates the chance to fight again.

BTW, where would the Mohtrek go on this scale? Pulling doubles of yourself out of the timeline is pretty useful...

I'm considering the Mohtrek to be banned outright. Seriously, if a past self dies you completly mess up the space time continuum. Although, that would make a good RPG concept.

The Makuta Bitil has died. Are you a bad enough dude to save the space time continuum?

Lots of messing around with Time and messing around with Time trying to put right the messing around done by the previous dudes

You also missed out the Crast, which is pretty handy. Comparable to a Hau, I'd say, but better because you can use it to fly

Like I said earlier, I plan on grouping the makuta masks into one tier.

Being able to detect hidden beings is still something, so I don't think it should be listed as completely useless.

And I think, depending on the situation, the Huna is less powerful that you listed it as. In advanced societies with infra-red imaging, it's not very useful, not to mention a Rahi with good ears or sense of smell could probably detect something invisible pretty easily.
