The New Piraka Animation

Hey, I liked it. It was better than the Hordika ones last year, and about equal with the Vahki ones. There were plenty of scenes I liked from it, and I took the time to make a collection of screen shots. Some of my favorites are...

The scenery of Voya-Nui. Even if it was the green belt, Voya-Nui isn't looking like that bad of a place. Kinda nice from that angle.

Water on Voya-Nui? Even though I bet it isn't official (makes it feel more tropical) I still found that ironic. Maybe the Matoran just haven't discovered that fall yet.

Vezon the Interrogator. I loved the "professional" look of the Piraka as he got answers out of Piruk. :P And then how he pulls up his zamour...

An interesting use of Hakann's weapon. The whip suits him nicely... I just wish the set responded in kind. :sly:

Thok's view of the world. It worked nice, but isn't that Reidak's vision power?

And then the best part. After the credits, Balta gets knocked on the head and falls over. That caught me completely off guard, and was my favorite part of the animation.

The games were okay to, but not very hard. The catch game was way too easy... even if you got hit on the head with a rock, you could still get all the zamour. (But the first games I keep playing seem to forget that the zamour should be falling, so i have to click "retry" in order to really play the game.) Avak's Mountain Crusher game was just hard on my mouse... alot of clicks.

I like this. Even if it doesn't entirely follow the storyline, I think Lego has done a good job. In fact, 2006 seems to be the best year for Lego since the Toa Mata. B)

I will agree with you on pretty much all those points, Seejay. The actual plot of the animation didn't make much sense to me, but whatever. Very good quality, fun games, and pretty much worth the wait.

Nice screenshots! I liked the animation too--much better than the Hordika ones. Keeping the gangsta theme of the Piraka spoiled it a bit IMO, but not that much.

The scenario was what amazed me the most. The beginning of the movie was beautiful.

And yeah--Thok's "Vision Power: Spellbinder vision which disorients foe" (Official Piraka Topic) and Reidak's "Vision Power: Infrared and thermal imaging vision". Unfortunately. It would've been much better if they had stayed a bit closer to the storyline. Oh well. I'll just imagine Reidak and Thok switching places in the movie clip.
