despite the fact the brutes are alot more bigger and hage huge armour and weaponry, personally, just a basic elite with a plasma rifle seems more awesome the a brute chieften barreling down on you ready to crack your head open with his hammer.

Elites: Strong, fast, smart, and cool looking. Use many weapons, and I once found one with a gravity hammer (Was epic)

Brutes: Stupid, dont use many weapons, a bit stronger, but uh... you can kill em quick.

Plus, the elites kicked the brutes butt. And the Arbiter was WAY better then Tartarus. Not only that, but they were a worthy foe. The brutes... kinda of a block in the road. And you got the TNT. 'Nuff said.
