Brickfair 09 Ramblings

Since I don't have time to give you a full report of what I did.

Yes I have a prototype, but I'll show that off later.

I met a ton of cool people who I will list later (for reasons a certain North Dakotan will know).

There were a bunch of other cool people there who I had already met.

I got a bunch of free stuff.

I bought a few things at a ridiculous discount.

I bought a BrickArms phaser and received a free, black, prototype Storm Trooper gun.

I now have 3 red and 3 yellow Bitil wings, among some other System pieces which will come in handy.

LEGO Bingo is fun, in good company.

BrickFair 2010 is August 5-9, 2010!

...

Yeah that's it for now since I have to go sleep since I'm heading to school Sunday morning. If I have time I'll get pix up and write a news report or so and blog some more.

If he met enough people it's possible.

YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY.

Now all I have to do is wait for the airline tickets to put the prices up for those travel times....and maybe get a job on campus to offset the costs, and I'll be set.

Where?

Dulles Expo Center. So, still DC, but not as close to the Tyson's LEGO Store like this one. And further from my home. But it has 80,000 square feet of convention space, a hotel 100 yards away (and another a mile down the road), and about 10 [fast food] places to eat.

Maybe wait until the turn of the year...plane tickets might cost more at first and then drop and then gradually rise again. (Plus, then I'll be able to check on plans with my parents, if you're game, as well as a few other BZPers I/we can plan stuff with. TTYL.)

This. Now I don't have to worry about college and events leading up to it interfering at all!

OH MY GOODNESS.

If I am going, you are going. BrickFair could use a dose of craziness from the West Coast next year.

If Arpy and Nukaya were going, then that would be awesomness on all the cool people I'd be able to meet. (And guys, you should totally plan on sticking around after or arriving early for some DC touring.)

Sweetness; I'll have to see if I can attend! (that's right smack dab over my 18th birthday!) And hopefully I can have something to display...

Just do what I do and accidentally don't take something apart because it's so awesome you want to display it. I kept Crustaceous build despite maybe finding uses for his pieces. Don't worry, I'm in the same boat as you with not having as many pieces as I want, but the limitation just makes you think more and use different color combinations to achieve your goal. I had a dozen MOCs at BrickFair and still could have built some more despite thinking that a lot of my good pieces were already in use.

o.o Holy goodness.

This has to happen.

Like, if this does not happen I might cry.

The biggest problem I can see is I might need to go to school right over BrickFair over weekend, if I'm an RA.

Ug.

Which is half the reason I want you guys to come a few days early to tour DC with me, instead of stick around after.

But what if I'm gone then too?

Sounds like I need to make a blog entry.

I saw you there, but I only said something when you had to rush awaaaay.

But next year should be awesome, given the fact that there'll be more space and it won't be a pain to go from the main display area to the vendors =P

Hm, I was maybe going to tour DC when I go for the M4L next year. But I might go to the one in SanFran (with a girl :3), rendering that plan moot.

You can still come early/stay late and hang out with me! (And Nukaya and Argetlam.)

M4L is on a Friday this year, and unless I get lucky again next semester like I did this semester, I'll have classes then. But next year it's on Saturday and I bet my CCM will plan a trip up.
