Ah, but you see, we're probably limiting our colors here to black, white, red, blue, green, and yellow. Aside from yellow, all are plentiful in Kanohi form 2001. (Yes yellow was also there from the Manas.)

Plus, brown would also be an option, along with lime, light blue, orange, etc.

Okay, you can get 1x1 tiles or bricks pretty cheap. Most Kanohi are gonna go for ridicular prices, worst for particular colors. Unless you can get a desent design using only a handful...

I do have a whole bunch of 2001 Kanohi in the box of prototypes and other pieces Binky gave me...

How will they stay together? A complex system of small Technic connectors?

The masks have studs or rods on the backs to stick to the face, remember? Some Technic bricks can be used to make them stick to whatever these are attached to (I'm thinking baseplate because that's what other mosaics use).
