Well, that's right. A new contest to keep you busy! Considering Bionicle is ending and we now have Stars this year, I think we should offer a proper tribute via this contest. This can be hard to put into words but I'll put it quite simply: build an old character from 2005 or earlier using mostly modern Bionicle pieces from 2006-present.

The best example of this would be Brickeens' Nui Rama. As you can see, this MOC portrays an old character in a new style with more current pieces and the techniques seen today. Building an old thing with new pieces might not be your thing, though. You are also allowed to build a new character with old pieces. You can also combine new and old pieces to portray a new or old character in a different way.

Your entry could be as simple as Tahu built with an Inika torso, or be as complex as ToM Dracone's White Makuta. These ideas portray old characters in new ways. The possibilities are endless! Before you get MOCing, think about these guidelines.

1) This contest follows the basic rules of any BBCC held on BZPower. These guidelines should be followed in this contest.

2) You MOC must portray a new character with old pieces, an old character with new pieces, or a combination. This can be a confusing, large concept, so I'll let you get away with a lot as long as the MOC attempts to follow the theme.

3) No mass PMing me, the host. Questions go in the comments section of this post.

4) The entry period ends on January 30th.

This contest follows the practical rules that BBCCs follow. It's all common sense.

Planning on entering. Does the MOC have to be predominantly post 2006 pieces or can it have a larger ratio for pre 2006 pieces?

I think I worded that a little weird. It doesn't necessarily have to be predominantly post-2006 pieces, it just has to use those pieces so that they are displayed and used clearly.

Can I make, say, 3 or 4 MOCs and put them in 1 entry? For example, Kopaka Mata, Onewa Metru, and Matau Hordika?

And is this basically a "Make your own Stars" contest?/Can they be Stars style?

The point of this contest is to have the MOCs be a PROPER tribute to Bionicle, not Stars. It's okay if you make a custom torso on a small MOC, just don't use the Av-Matoran torso. The Av-Matoran torso is one of the reasons the Stars didn't go over well. If you're going to have multiple MOCs in one entry, make them at least related. Ex: Tahu Mata, Gali Mata, etc. I wouldn't consider this a make your own Stars contest, because I really don't like the deluge of Stars MOCs in th BBC. This is a "make a proper tribute to Bionicle" contest. ;)

Is it ok if I eneter a revamp of toa Hordika Vakama?

Yeah. It has to use parts from 2006 and later, though. Same thing with Vhisola.
