Actually, these do appear to be the standard, canister sets, which, contrary to many others, I really like. After all, they're about the same size and price as the original canister sets, the Toa Mata.

Yup.

I think the problem most people have with it is simply the fact that it's so different. After all, we've had this science-fantasy world for a decade, and now we reboot with somthing that's more science-fiction (or so it appears from what little information we have) than science-fantasy.

But I like it.

They also carry the same qualities- a one-piece torso, armor slapped on the chest (reminiscent of the Nuva), and surprisingly cool weapons.

Ditto.

Personally, I kind of like them.

And I certainly don't mind the more Sci-Fi approach this time 'round.

I personally dislike the the non-articulated limbs, but hey the rest is cool. especially the white ones helmet.

But the names are FAIL.

I must agree with you, the pieces may not be really compatible but they are pretty great. They seem pretty good to me with the exception of names, I really dislike the human names, just irks me some reason.
