Lake Aerospace H Q

Multiverse__Lake_Aerospace_by_RuinFox.jpg

For the Expanded Multiverse Guide on BZPower. This is my attempt at showing Lake Aerospace, the spacecraft manufacturer of Ga-Clysmax, Shattered. I rather think it turned out nicely. It sounded like a very interesting place, so I'm glad it looks like I wanted. :)

Spent about six - seven hours on this. Wasn't really keeping track so I can't say for sure, but it was around there. Painted in Corel Painter X, with the oils, acrylics, and airbrushes. It was being difficult about the Aerospace pod itself, but I finally managed to bend it to my will. This was some good landscape practice - I especially like the way the lakes came out. Sketch here.

bonesiii really liked this one, apparently. XD

Bam. To be fair, this was the only piece in the art slot. But to be unfair, nobody could have topped this anyways. :P This is the bar-none best work of art in the whole contest, and it makes me just want to sit here and stare admiringly at it for hours on end. It is all that and more of what I imagined the LAHQ to look like, and I quite frankly didn't think we'd EVER get art that could come close to what I saw in my head, even if I tried it myself -- this is far beyond my skill. I am thrilled to have been wrong about that. :happydance:

And seriously, the HQ looks EXACTLY like what I had in mind. This is sheer perfection.

Well, almost. Onnnnnnnnne tiny nitpick is that there's no whitening of the water as it falls away from the rising float-structure, which water would realistically do. But I can't really complain, because the rest of the water looks way more realistic than what I can do, so yay.

Original topic here.

Painter was pretty difficult to work with the first time I tried it... I actually abandoned it for a few years, and used Deleter exclusively. Deleter is amazingly simple, but you can still do great things with it. But Painter has tons and tons of options. I still don't know what some of them do, but a lot of times you can get exactly what you want using Painter, whereas in Deleter you have to use what you're given. Some of the things Deleter does I still haven't figured out how to do in Painter yet, but it's quite probably because I haven't found the right option yet. XD

I'm pretty sure this was a fluke though, my paintings don't usually look quite this good.

And yes, I now have a blog... that I will probably never use... Lol.

If I re-sized it I'd have to re-upload it somewhere though. D:

No, Deleter is not, but Open Canvas 1 is. Deleter is pretty much an upgraded version of Open Canvas, there are really only minor differences. Open Canvas has one thing Deleter does not though, apparently you can network with other people to collaborate on things with it. I've never had cause to use that feature though, so I don't know how it works.
