Scenes For The Con
The theme for BrickCon this year is "Tales of the Bricks" where your MOCs should be telling stories. So on my first day off-ish in the last month, I got to turning some of these ideas in my head to Lego MOCs. And now to show them off!
A couple of obvious choices to bring are my SeaDuck airplane and xkcd Laser Cat models. I'm sure those have been shown before, so let's move onto some of the newer stuff.
Okay, this one isn't really new... it's been to BrickCon 2009 and BrickFair 2010. But I don't think I bothered to ever actually blog about it. This is my model of the Nerd Herd desk at Buy More... AKA, from the Chuck TV show. Featured are Chuck (white shirt), Sarah (pink shirt), Morgan (green shirt and long black hair), and Cassy (the dude with the gun and sneer). It's not fascinating, but it's nice, and since I bought all the parts online rather than rummaging through my collection, I don't see this one coming apart any time soon.
My newest and most exciting piece is my model of Warehouse 13. Okay, so it's only a portion of the warehouse, but I worked real hard to customize the figs to the characters and find lots of cool artifacts. I really need to take more detailed pictures of the shelves, cause I've crammed a lot of artifacts on there. But I think it's turned out very nice. I might add more shelves or tables before the Con, but the minifigs are probably not going to change.
Based off a recent (note, VERY) xkcd comic. The tumble weed isn't the best, but the use of Lego pistols just needed to be done.
Okay, I won't explain this one straight away, because I want to see if anybody gets it. But here's a hint: It's based off a poem. (Like the only poem I really like... and I tend to dislike poetry)
I also want to see who can name the show this one came from. If you know, it makes sense. If you don't... well, then this must be the most completely random thing ever. It was inspired when I got a farm impulse set (I got it for the dog used in the last scene). The figs don't quite accurately portray the characters... but it was the closest I could come with the pieces I had.
And finally... a self-fig. And this isn't my ordinary fig, but one I actually based on my real appearance. (Well, kinda, I couldn't make the fig THAT ugly) It's kinda based off my Park Aid uniform that I wear at the State Park I work at. At the convention, I might see if I can get some text engraved on the torso, just to make it all the more realistic. And I was about to throw out big bucks to buy this online when I realized it came in the new wizard impulse set... so I went and bought it and got more pieces too.
That's it for now... any guesses on those last two scenes?
