Using the success of my promotion of The Spectacular Spider-Man, I shall now present the new best cartoon ever.
EVER.
BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD.
YES.
Still got an English essay to finish, and two science paragraphs. Doing nothing has never seemed more appealing, despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that I've spent the last two weeks doing little but that.
I did get Watchmen, three Terry Pratchett books, Iron Man, the Dark Knight and a box set of all Pixar movies up to Ratatouille (and I already had WALL-E from my birthday!) on DVD. AND, I got a Hiro Nakamura bobblehead. Pretty good haul.
I just finished the anime now, gonna watch the movie sequels and then move on to Code Geass next. There doesn't seem to be a topic for this in COT that I can find, so I'll jot down my final thoughts on the finale here.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «I've got to say, this was one of the most deep and complex animes (and episodes) that I've ever seen. The entire last two episodes were basically animated psychological profiles of the main characters. And the ending was just t
I'm reading The Odyssey for English class, and man oh man I will never disrespect Hermes ever again. Those Disney guys had some serious guts making him a tiny blue guy with little round sunglasses in the (grossly inaccurate in just about every way) Disney movie Hercules. The wrath of the giant-killer Hermes shall be upon them, if it is not already.
That's right. At least half the times they mention Hermes, they add the title "giant-killer". "Hermes, the giant-killer" - "The giant-killer Herme
Ah, the "f-word". It's not a good word. Just like they do on television, BZP filters it.
Now, here's the problem:
They censor the word with a bunch of number signs, like this.
######
Now, that's boring. The word filter needs a little more pizazz. Now, what got me thinking about this was when I realized that the "b-word" (which can mean an illegitimate child or be used as an insulting term, and is also rightly filtered) is censored as this instead of the number signs:

So we have this black guy for president now, or at least we will in January when he's sworn in. I don't see the big deal. They've had black presidents in Africa for years.
OK, sorry I wasn't here yesterday, especially since I've been getting more active in the RPG forum recently after a long lull in posting. I was over at a friend's house, played SSBB for the first time (have to get that game at some point), and came back pretty late. Plus I have a cold that is making the contents of my nose outweigh the rest of my body.
So, today is Election Day in the United States of America. I won't bring politics into this innocent little site of ours, but I live in the st
I won't spoil anything, but I just got the last Bionicle comic of 2008 minutes ago, and let me tell you, even without the deeper and more expanded writing in the books - the ending is awesome. Not exactly unpredictable, but it's still awe-inspiring to actually see it for myself.
Oh yeah, and the Destral Cycle looks cool.
But on the other hand, the Exo-Force "Battle Arachnoid" just looked better than Vultraz. And Omicron did say Vultraz sucks.
But 2009 looks like it should pull me back to the Light Side.
Has anyone ever thought about how different anime theme songs are from American animation's?
Compare and contrast theme songs for, oh, Neon Genesis Evangelion, TTGL, FMA, Elfen Lied...
...with this:
Spider-Man!
Spider-Man!
Does whatever a spider can!
Slinging webs
Can't remember this line!
Spider-Man!
Spider-Man!
Look oooooouuuuuut
It's Spider-Man!
