News from the Fanfiction Front

Thought I'd post a little update on my fanfics, mostly 'cause I'm bored and I thought now would be a good time to talk about 'em.   I finally finished reposting the chapters of BIONICLE: The Legend Reloaded that were lost in the hacking. Funny how I had to repost it during November because I originally wrote it for NaNoWriMo in 2011, I think. Hope I don't have to repost it again anytime soon 'cause honestly I got a bit sick of posting a chapter a day like that. Good riddance.   Currently, My Lit

That was Absurdly Fast

As of this morning, I have officially crossed the 50,000 word mark for NaNoWriMo, which officially makes me a winner. I am quite shocked because this is the fastest I've ever won NaNoWriMo. I usually hit the 50k mark around Thanksgiving, not fifteen days before it.   The story itself is not over yet, however, so I will keep writing until I finish it. I will also keep updating my word count here until the end of the month. The story might very well hit 100k before the month's end, although of cou

National Novel Writing Month

Today officially kicks off the first day of NaNoWriMo 2013! Yay!   This year, I am writing an original fantasy novel titled The Mad Voyage of Prince Malock. As you have probably already noticed, I have added a NaNoWriMo word count content block to this blog, which will be updated daily as I write my novel. Feel free to borrow the general format for your own blog if you are participating this year. Or not. Whatever floats your boat.   Best of luck to my fellow NaNo novelists as we strive to hit t

Fanfic News and Updates

So the forums are back online. Thankfully I didn't lose much, just the second half of The Legend Reloaded and the first posted half of My Little BIONICLE: Friendship is Explosive. I have both comedies saved onto my computer, so expect to see a new chapter a day for both until they are at the point they were pre-hacking.   Also, I am working on the third draft of In the End, the sequel to Dawn of the New Century. Based on the current rate I am working at, it will probably be ready for posting in

Need a Recommendation

So I got a $50 iTunes gift card recently and I've been trying to decide what to buy with it.   I noticed they have the entire first season of Elementary available for download for $25. It seems like a pretty good deal to me, especially when you factor in how much each episode costs to download individually. And I'll admit that I have been very curious about Elementary, as I love Sherlock and am interested in seeing the differences between the two shows.   So is Elementary worth watching? Or woul

Re: The Twilight Saga

(WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE TWILIGHT SAGA. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.)   A few posts back I reported buying all four books of the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, as well as a plan to read them all.   And just a few days ago I put down the final book, Breaking Dawn, and I am now going to share some of my thoughts on them:   I felt Meyer had some interesting ideas about vampires and werewolves and I would have loved to see them expanded on. And, while she did expand on them somewha

Reposting Old Stories

As of today, I have begun reposting BIONICLE: The Legend Reloaded, which you can find here. I intend to post one chapter a day until the entire thing has been reposted. That will take a little over a month, seeing as the entire comedy is 34 chapters long.   I've been thinking of reposting the Shika Trilogy sometime, too, even though all three of the epics are not quite as good as my current work. Still, the Shika Trilogy is foundational to the Shikaverse and is the only trilogy of epics I have e

The Twilight Saga

Today I bought all four of the books from the Twilight Saga for a mere $12 at a Good Will store.   Will I regret this decision?   But seriously, I bought them because I want to decide for myself if they're good or not. I keep hearing about how horrible/great they are (depending on whether I am listening to a fan or a hater) and I don't really know who to believe, so I am going to read them and see just how good or bad they really are for myself.   Wish me luck.   -TNTOS-

Fanfiction Updates and Announcements

Yesterday I posted the final chapter of my most recent epic, Dawn of the New Century. Thus, the entire fic is now available for anyone with basic Internet connection to read. Yay and stuff.   Soon I am going to begin work on the second draft of Dawn's sequel, currently titled In the End. It will take place shortly after Dawn and will conclude the duology. It will probably come out in early or mid 2014, although I have no definite release date for it just yet.   In the meantime, I am pleased to a

Youtube has attacked the blogs

And is it glorious.   Also don't expect me to link to my other blog here because it is almost entirely about religion and politics. Also fanfiction, which I think we can all agree is as controversial as politics and religion (sometimes, anyway).   -TNTOS-

I'm back (plus fanfiction updates)

Hey, everybody. I'm back from my vacation. Had a great time and did loads of stuff. If anyone is interested, I went to Schiltterbahn in New Braunfels, Texas. This is the third time I've gone to Schlitterbahn in three years, but it's the first time I stayed in one of the Treehaus resorts. Very fancy.   Anyway, I've got a few announcements I'd like to make regarding my fanfics:   Firstly, I've started work on the second draft of the tentatively titled In the End, which for those who may not know i

Going to be gone 16th-18th

Hey, guys. I know I already mentioned this in the last entry, but I am posting this just to make sure everyone knows that I will be gone from tomorrow, Tuesday, July 16th, to Thursday, July 18th. I will likely not be online at during that period, so I will not be able to answer any PMs or Skype chats anyone sends me. Just a heads up for anyone interested.   -TNTOS-

Happy Birthday to me

Today is my birthday. I got a phone card from my Dad yesterday and we're baking a cake today (it's just about done, I think). As always, it's going to be a small, family event. I imagine today is not going to be radically different from most days, as I have no particular plans for my birthday.   Funny how this doesn't bother me. When I was a kid, I was always afraid people would forget about my birthday, even though no one ever did. My birthday always seemed like the most important thing in the

LEGO: The Movie

Just saw the trailer for LEGO: The Movie. It looks pretty good and I am pretty sure I will see it when it comes out. Loving how it looks like stop-motion (or is it CGI? Hard to tell).   -TNTOS-

E3

Some quick thoughts on some E3 games:   Super Smash Bros. for Wii-U/3DS. Looks freaking awesome. Love that they're adding Megaman.   Super Mario 3D World. 3D Land was a fun game and this one looks like it'll be even better. Cat Mario can haz cheeseburger?   Mario Kart 8. Every time I see them driving on the walls or ceiling, I think, "Mario Kart Galaxy!"   Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. Dixie Kong is back. Also underwater levels. It looks extremely promising.   The Legend of Zelda: The Win

F-Zero

Man that was an awesome video game series, one of my all-time favorites. My favorite game in the series is F-Zero GX, even though it was ridiculously, stupidly, frustratingly hard at times (I'm looking at you, Hard difficulty Story Mode).   I think Nintendo should bring it back for the Wii-U or even the 3DS (or maybe even both). It's a series that really needs a new game, IMO. I'd buy it if they did.   -TNTOS-

Fanfic News

Good news, everybody. I just finished the first draft of the sequel to Dawn of the New Century, tentatively titled In the End. I am going to work on something else for now, but rest assured that I will start work on the second draft as soon as possible. It will have to go through at least six drafts before I feel ready to post it, however, so don't expect to see it posted this year.   That's all the news I have right now regarding my fanfics. So see ya,   -TNTOS-

Love it or hate it

If your story (drawing, movie, TV show, food, etc.) invokes the reaction described in the title, does that mean you're doing it right?   -TNTOS-

The Legend is Over

Just posted the final chapter of TLI. Read it here.   That means that the Legend Trilogy is finally over. I'm gonna miss it, but all things must end at some point, otherwise you drag it out too long and it becomes a zombie and tries to eat your brain. Wait, what was I talking about again?   Anyway, I am probably going to post something on this blog about the Legend Trilogy next week, most likely an overview of the series. I may not, but I think it's likely that I will, so whatever.   -TNTOS-
