Today was the Math Bowl for my area. For those who don't know, a Math Bowl is a mathematics competition. For my area, there are four divisions: geometry, algebra II, pre-calculus, and calculus. Each school sends out a team of four students (each of who are in the class for their division) for each division. This is an idea that's been floating around in my head for a while, and I'd like to actually implement it. The idea is to create a database of pieces with names for each piece and color. I know there's already something similar out there, but the names are usually long, cumbersome, and involve numbers.

Ding's* birthday is coming up this Sunday, and as a gift I wanted to make him a customized T-shirt. So I called a local shop, and it was about $25.

So, the new plan is to get some plain shirts and change the design into stencils. There's a special spray paint for fabrics that can be found at craft stores, so we'll just spray the design onto the shirt. We might even make two.

Today was mostly uninteresting, so I'll talk about something that's been going on for a while. Near the end of summer, my mother decided our family needed to lose some weight. Now, I wasn't fit, but I wasn't fat either; I strongly suspect that the whole scheme is mostly aimed at my brother. Anyway, my mother introduced us to a weight-loss plan called Weight Watchers. Now that I have my own laptop (and, by extension, any-time access to the Internet), I think I'm going to pick my blog back up again. I suppose the best place to start would be with the laptop itself. Yesterday around four-thirty, I headed over to Best Buy with my mom and sister. We were initially going to buy me a wireless mouse. It was an early Christmas gift from my dad. Normally he would have waited until I had something to use it with, but the mouse I wanted, usually $50, was on Black Friday

In other news, I've been feeling pretty good since eighth period today (for those out of the loop, that's math class). We did a lot and it put me in a good mood.

Also, my mom checked out our local video store, and both copies of The Legend Reborn were out. So tonight's movie will be X-Men Origins: Wolverine (an excellent movie, by the way). I'll check again tomorrow afternoon after school.

Black Six is officially finished. Sadly, I have no pictures for you yet - I plan to get those in the half-hour of daylight I have left over here. But he's done, which is a huge relief. I'll actually be able to get in bed on time tonight, and with my homework done to boot!

I found out this morning that I'm not going to my dad's this weekend, which means that I can extend my personal deadline for Black Six to tonight!

By my personal schedule, I have until about noon tomorrow today to finish him up.
Then I'm at my dad's until Sunday night.
Kaiapu comes together Sunday night or Monday afternoon.
The whole thing is done and entered by Tuesday afternoon, for better or for worse.
I wish I had more time.
