The doom I sought to avert has come upon me; my philosophy teacher assigned us readings from Richard Dawkins. Here's hoping I don't throw up halfway through them. NOTE: The very fact that I am in a philosophy class, and have been since September infers quite strongly that i have read a number of works I disagree with as much as I disagree with Dawkins. I have. I read works that I disagree with, from Protestant writings to those of atheists. It's not precisely Dawkins' views that set me off
I was going to do a themed story, but first I thought if I did one on All Hallows Eve, it might be too religious, so I decided to stick with the essence of All Hallows Eve and then... Yeah, by then I ran out of inspiration.
I have to get a good photo of myself, answer one question, provide two references... I'M FINALLY (almost) DONE! ! ! ... Right when I'm rejoicing, of course, I recall the psychological testing and evaluation and the physical that's next.
825 years ago, Balian of Ibelin surrendered Jerusalem to Saladin, after threatening the Saracen ruler that he would burn Jerusalem were he not to offer terms. It's also the feast of the Guardian Angels, and my 17th birthday.
Oh, hey, I just realized that Testing Conflict is in fifth place. If it gets five votes before TPTI or Lev get one, I'll get third place. Not that that's going to happen really, though. Oh, and Hunted is in second by two votes... Wonder if it'll stay like that? Yeah, Testing Conflict and Hunted are pretty much the only RPGs I'm interested in playing this time around.
Mandatory Kingdom of Heaven blog entry. THAT MOVIE IS SO EPIC. Like, even though the Templars were not shown in a very good light, and the only clergy you ever see are corrupt, it still was epic. For some reason Tiberias reminds me of my vocations director. :|
Don't you dare look out your window darling Everything's on fire The war outside our door keeps raging on It's almost shockingly how things one sees and analyzes as abstracts swiftly become deeply and personally integrated to the observer through surroundings of various sorts, and people in said surroundings. Stark contrasts frame the war you always knew existed... But now see on a more personal level.
So my professor brought up the Hunger Games today when talking about form! He was giving an example of what form is, and he stated that a cat was a cat because of its cat-ness. There was instantly a muffled chuckle from the class, myself included. There once was a being named Katniss Who was a cat because of her cat-ness She died and was laid in the earth-ness Whereupon she was turned into grass-ness I immediately penned (or more like penciled) a crude version of the above. Improved versio
I am officially bigoted against puppies. Six non house trained puppies in one room + some time = a good example of what heck might smell like. I feel like vomiting repeatedly: I'm now scarred for life by that smell.
Do not, ever, ever, take up Do not bypass the filter! -Kohaku perpetual question (what's on your mind?) on 9/11. People are hardly rational on any day, especially on that. On the bright side, I have learned that I can take people I've known for ages insulting me to my face without getting anything more than mildly annoyed. I think my chat debates are paying off!
So anyways, haven't posted on here in a bit, so I figured I might as well ramble a bit. Working on an RPG with Krayzikk for the upcoming RPG contest, and it's going quite well. It should be interesting seeing the competition as the deadline gets closer. As to real life, I'm currently feeling pretty jubilant, despite the fact that my sister is moving back in next week; after her stormy exit, I am not looking forwards to having her in the same house again. But anyways, I just discovered today
Man, I have not used this blog in a while. Anyways, working on an RPG for the contest. Krayzikk is going to be head Gm, for which I am most thankful. However, I am looking for a few assistant GMs right now. the RPG draft can be found here. If you're interested, please let me know.
The toa of iron slowly ran his hand along the flat of his sword, the leathery inside of his hand feeling the gradual curve of the keen blade. His eyes were half closed, and to a casual glance he seemed to be completely calm. In reality, any calm he possessed had been replaced by numbing shock. He was in his room, in a brief rest he had, before plunging back into the growing war effort. I can’t go back, his mind whispered over and over again. Not after this. The sword in his hands was his
All right people, I'll be heading out, completely. I might be on occasionally as a guest, but aside that not at all. I will be going onto Skype, mostly for Ambage write offs on the weekend. But mostly I'm going to be vanishing off the internet for a month or two.
My old game, Lionslayer, is being converted to a Binoicle game. I'm not going to continue working on it, but I have the first level already made, and is seems a shame to waste all that epic programming. Be warned, those who want to play, you'll need a good computer.
Today I had an interview with the vocations director of my diocese. It went very well, only now I have like a 12 page application that includes writing a short autobiography, and an essay that i need to write. On other fronts, I figure I might as well announce this fact: I'm leaving BZP come next week. Not permanently, but at least for a week, and after I return, I probably won't be on much at all. In short, I'm trying to majorly cut back on my time on the internet, and BZP, as well as most
Anyone know that RPG? Yeah, I'm currently chalking it up as a double failure; in theme and in practice. The theme itself, with the T/DH war, gave a very limited number of NPCs, which is not a very good idea, since usually NPCs die rather fast. Logistically, about one fifth of the toa forces would be PC toa. This leads to the next problem; lack of cohesive military structure. It's stated pretty clear that the Protectorate have a military setup for the toa, yet I never made the specifics, nor do m
