First of all, if you don't understand a word I've just written, click "back" before your eyeballs are scarred for life. This isn't for you. If you nodded knowingly and muttered, "Shake that baby app," you're the one I need.
What do I need, you ask?
I need random schtuff. I need you to put a nonsensical phrase together. I need the most random, off
Guess what I've been working on?
The only unfortunate point is, I have to have it done by Tuesday morning, and I have meetings all day Monday. So flashback to last December, when I worked 15 hour days to get the Phantoka update done. This isn't that bad, but still, working on weekends stinks.
At least the weather sucks too, so I'm not missing anything.
Clearly some of the things in the snapshot above are placeholders - and some aren't. I'll leave you to ponder which is which, and it's
Development on the BIONICLE web game is coming along nicely. Thought you guys would like a screenshot of what it'll look like. Plans are to release it in late January or early February.
It's a tower defense style game, where you place your defenders to protect your Agori from baddies. The game is still in development but the graphics are looking great.
There will be multiple levels, this is just one.
OK, now that the drama is over, time to update you on a few things. BIONICLE.com is now updated for US and UK. Other languages will follow in the next 60 days. I really like the overall design of the site. It's the closest I can think of to matching the rest of the campaign. The artwork was actually taken directly from the same Photoshop files used in the packaging. The new song is not yet available for download. That'll come later. It's from the same lady who sang "Creeping In My Soul". The guy
OK, since the Legend Reborn update didn't go live on Wednesday like it was supposed to, the least I can do is feed you a few little tidbits about who's in the movie. Here's the (partial) cast list.
Mata Nui: Michael Dorn
Ackar: Jim Cummings
Kiina: Marla Sokoloff
Metus: David Leisure
Berix: James Arnold Taylor
Gresh: Mark Famiglietti
Raanu: Armin Shimerman
Tuma: Fred Tatasciore
Strakk: Jeff Glen Bennett
Click: Himself
Trust me, there'll be much more coming up.
It's time.
For many reasons, some of which I can't really go into right now, I find it necessary to resign my position as an Administrator of BZPower, effective after this week. I hasten to add this is not due to any dissatisfaction or disagreement with the site, fellow staff, or members - you're all excellent... well, most of you, anyway .
No, it's not April Fool's, this is on the level.
The last couple of months as chief geek and server-burper have been very stressful, as you might im
It's only another week or so before the new web site is released, and the games that we're running will be available. Thought you'd like to see screenshots from the first couple of games - a good guy and bad guy game.
Sometimes this job has little perks that just crack me up. For instance, I get to be the one to define the B.I.O. codes on the packages. Yesterday, I whipped up the first batch for 2009 sets. At first, I was just gonna do like I'd done before, boring 3 numbers and 3 letters. But I got a wild hair and did it differently. Everybody in the office was wondering why I was giggling like a schoolgirl. I showed them, and they still didn't get it.
But you guys will. In 8 months or so.
Oh, and I'm i
So for work today, I've been trawling through a bunch of old Style Guide material from 2001-2003, and it sure brings back memories. Some of this stuff never saw the light of day, or was released in different formats. One of the images I thought was cool but I don't recall being released was one of the Rahi facing down Tahu.
Of course, my memory could be faulty and maybe it was used somewhere - I'm old, after all. But still, it's a small sample of stuff I've been running across. Some of th
FYI - the Mistika online game is delayed again, until Monday.
I need a new dentist... grinding my teeth this hard is gonna shatter my pearly whites.
[EDIT] Aaaaand... now it's Tuesday. At the earliest.
Next week, I'll be spending a couple of days in London. Well, London and Bournemouth. The online game developer we've been using (who are very good by the way - yes, that means you, Mike) is going to start on the game(s) for later this year, and we'll be going over what we need to do. Then on Tuesday, I'm meeting some people about another project I'm working on, which is kind of work-related but not entirely. Hopefully I'll be able to talk more about that later.
Enough about me. You don't car

BZP Admin Binkmeister interviews BIONICLE.com Webmaster Kelly McKiernan
Following hard-hitting journalistic successes like “Bohrok-Kal price cuts at Wal*Mart” and “Keychain update”, (former) BZPower admin and newsguy Binkmeister tackles his toughest interview yet: Kelly McKiernan, current webmaster of BIONICLE.com and BIONICLEstory.com. Bink cornered Kelly and forced the following answers out of him. Contrary to Kelly’s complaints, the rope marks aren’t permanent. Sissy.
Bink: Tell us wh
Just a quick note that my contract with LEGO is being extended into 2009. I'll continue working on BIONICLE.
My original contract was for one year, August 2007 to August 2008; then extended to Dec. 2008; now into '09. Leah is back and working on some other cool projects, but we still work closely together.
Tomorrow I'll be getting up at 4 a.m. to update BIONICLE.com. I have to coordinate with my colleagues in Denmark, hence the time difference. There'll be some fun stuff you guys will like, I think.
The things I do for you.
UPDATE: For technical reasons, the update has been delayed 24 hours. Sorry for the inconvenience.
UPDATE 2: For more technical reasons, the update has been delayed until at least next Monday.
The cat is now officially out of the bag. The hero has risen. The question has been answered. The mystery has been resolved. And now for a little high-res present, suitably wrapped in a spoiler tag.

This video is the culmination of many years. I am honored to be part of presenting it to you, the BIONICLE fandom.
Here's a blog entry near and dear to the hearts of many BZP members...
Mistika Game Status Update
The game, originally scheduled for release July 1, is now finally in QA (Quality Assurance). There's only one person in the entire organization of LEGO who can take it further, and he's travelling right now, so we need to wait until he can get to it. The game will be live no later than September 1st, hopefully sooner.
We were planning on having two separate sets of levels, but it looks like w
Several of you commented about the life-size Ignika in the picture I posted with Michael Dorn and myself. I thought you'd like to see that mask in its natural environment.
Yes, the eyes do light up. It's a very dramatic setting in my newly-rearranged living room. Sorry, it's one-of-a-kind, and not for sale (of course). There are perks for having to have lived in Europe for more than a year.
