OMG   Probably the best thrill I've gotten since... well, since that time Greg said "Aanchir is right." Except this time, the person actually joined the site to post in my topic! *hugs self*   Yeah, I'm probably exaggerating its greatness in my own mind, but I'm feeling very giddy right now and can't help myself.   Meanwhile, I'm turning off the need for comment approval now, since the spam threat was solved ages ago and I want to better be able to keep track of when people reply. Oh Dear. I've Started A Fad.

Check BIONICLE Artwork I if you dare.   PLEASE, people. The caption to my Gelu drawing was meant to be a harmless lolcats reference. It was NOT meant to spawn a fad of sloppy edits and disgusting drawings focused on the BIONICLE fast food industry.   In all honesty, it would be best if this stopped now. My drawing was popular enough, but I am beginning to regret ever bringing my art back to BZPower. The dignity of the BIONICLE Artwork I forum is falling into question, and I'm ashamed that my w

Obligatory Twinkie entry

I don't really ship it, to be perfectly honest. The only Mane Six ships I really have much support for are Flutterdash and Twidash, and both because I think they're cute rather than because I have any interest in seeing those relationships develop into romantic ones. Rarijack is cute but at the same time I'm really enjoying seeing how Spike's relationship with Rarity is developing. With that in mind, I'm not a Sparity shipper in that I would be severely peeved if it turns out that he and Rarity

Obligatory New Header Entry

So the new header is cool. There could be improvement (some space between Tohu and the BZPower text could help, and it's a bit weird having the text and image overlaid on the dark blue stripe rather than above it vertically), but for me it represents the dynamic status of BZPower as a whole as it changes from strictly a BIONICLE site into something that, in my opinion, better celebrates BIONICLE's lasting influence.   See, with BIONICLE over, it isn't providing the site with anything new to disc

Number 13

Dear Readers, Here we are at the thirteenth art contest, which is undeniably the most unfortunate art contest so far. To celebrate, Lyichir and I are preparing a special, Mahri-Nui themed artwork. Be prepared.   While you wait, be sure to check out my far less threatening Lemon Club Challenge entry.   With all due respect, Aanchir: Rachira of Time

Ninjago Stuff

So I saw the new Ninjago episode tonight! It was pretty intense. The series is definitely moving towards a conclusion that will do the series as a whole justice. A short summary of the coolest parts and my thoughts follow:         In other Ninjago news, I found a Japanese online shop today that had descriptions of next year's Ninjago sets. I obviously can't share this on BZPower since this site probably wasn't supposed to disclose this so soon... but at the same time, it gives some insights into

New York Comic Con Wrap-Up

This past week has been a real adventure for me! I have already talked about a lot of what happened but I wanted to put all my thoughts in one place for future reference. On Wednesday my twin brother and I took the train to New York City for New York Comic Con. I stayed with my mom's camp friend Carson, whom I had previously stayed with back in 2012 when I attended New York International Toy Fair. Once again, she was an extremely hospitable host.   The reason for going to New York this time, of

New MOC!

Hey y'all, sorry I've been pretty quiet lately. I've been working at the Hasbro photo studio in Pawtucket for the past three months, which has been amazingly fun, but has also slightly limited my ability to gush about what toys I'm excited for. My internship ends this Friday, so hopefully after that I'll be able to get back in the swing of things!   What my internship hasn't limited, surprisingly, is the creative energy to keep building in my free time. In fact, during the month of July I create

New Arts!

Here. First time I've posted art in some time. If it gets any attention, I'll consider posting more of the stuff that I've done recently-- as of right now I've been mostly posting it on other sites, where I can more easily keep track of it.   Yay for Gelu!

Much Awesome To Be Had

Today's awesome is brought to you by: ...or something to that effect.   Anywho, today I got a chance to take a closer look at some Binkmeister Brickmaster scans we internet folks were offered. Spoilers are to follow, so I'll tag the following for your convenience:   » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «Mmm, I love the smell of convenience in the morning.  Anyway, the scans (which you've probably seen if you're bothering to read inside these spoiler tags) included an image of

Midterm MOC Report

Well, it turns out Kit Martello didn't perform too well in the BBC contest, only getting around seven votes in the first round of polling. I don't feel too bad about not winning, since there was a lot of talent in the contest, but it still bothers me that most of my feedback concerning Kit has been largely negative. Regardless, I think Sparkytron's Eris is due a round of congratulations for emerging victorious in the final poll. There are several things I dislike about this MOC, particularly the

Mazeka Review

Merry Christmas, BZPower! Or... a late Merry Christmas, anyway, if that's how you see it. Anyway, Lyichir was kind enough to give me two wonderful gifts: Mazeka and Makuta Icarax. A review of the latter should come soon. Sorry this will be pictureless, but I'm more comfortable with pictureless reviews-- with my sloppy photography skills, I couldn't really count on the pictures to explain anything by themselves, anyway, so hopefully the text would suffice regardless.   Presentation From the de

Matau and Nokama finally got together

...In another show altogether.   Turns out they are voiced by Brian Drummond and Tabitha St. Germain. You might know them better as Mr. and Mrs. Cake from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.   Of course it's already well-known that voice acting can be a tightly-knit community, but it's still fun to find amusing little coincidences like this.   P.S.: I am not at all suggesting any sort of relationship between the actual voice actors. That would be a little bit weird.   P.P.S.: Feel free to su

Mata Nui's Personality-- A Rant

Ever since Mata Nui appeared before our eyes for the first time in 2008, there has been a lot of complaining regarding his appearance. You know, how in my mind/your mind/Bob's mind, he was this glimmering god in armor that seared your flesh off with its shininess, wielding some weapon that only a god would carry and wearing armor in white and gold, which are the only colors a greater being is allowed to wear. (I always personally thought white and brown, maybe with gold-- after about 2007 this c

Mata Nui Preserve Us...

There's TWO of them now...   A quick analysis of this MOC: It is not called the Great Ice. It is called the Brackacksis. The model was built by bionicleminotaur for this website's own BBC contest #9. bionicleminotaur may not have his name captalized, but based on his entry post he seems to have a good grasp on the English language. Thus the original (dare I call a plagiarized MOC original?) GREAT ICE is undisputably fake due to its poster's poor grammar and desparate (perhaps disparate would be

Mata Nui Location Name Origins

I recently have been spending a lot of time researching the origins of 2001-2003 BIONICLE names. One area I have nearly completed my research on is that of locations. Bear in mind that these are mostly 2001 names, so they are derived from various Polynesian sources. I intend no offense to those cultures where the words are still in-use, and do not claim to have confirmation that the cited languages are the actual sources for the names (if I remember correctly, many names were drawn by LEGO from

Makuta Regions Poll

A new initiative in the BS01 forum has been established to decide which regions were governed by Makuta Antroz, Vamprah, and Tridax. Here's my take on the issue. Read my opinions if you like (I tried to keep them short ), then cast your vote!

Maj Down Too?

Right as I was preparing to "pimp my blog," I discovered something terrible. All of my folders on Maj... were empty. The other folders were like this as well. I reported it to the news, making no assumptions in case it was merely a fluke, but after returning to Maj I found not the returned folder content, but rather a worse situation: The folders themselves were gone as well!!! If this proves to be a fluke, I will be happy, but as it is I think we ought to brace ourselves for the worst.   EDIT:

I dunno, it seems that working for V.F.D. is a bit of a gloomy pasttime. This blog is hereby dedicated to all the unicorns and fuzzy animals that everyone loves.   With fun and peanuts, Aanchir: Rachira of FUN!

Love, Beauty, Etcetera

Dear Reader,   As you well know, love is a thing which captivates many a person. People often go so far as to speculate pairings between fictional characters. I admit that I myself believe in many of these pairings, such as Takanuva+Gali (still love that Greg made her the first one Takanuva asked about in Dark Mirror, Onewa+Krahka, and Jaller+Hahli. However, there is another pairing I support more than any other, and that is Auric+Cerule.   Auric and Cerule are two characters-- or perhaps peop

Looks Like A 5-year-old's Moc

Why do people seem to think that it's EVER OK to say this or something remotely similar? I don't care if it's about an official BIONICLE product or an MOC-- to say this is to insult anyone who worked on this (unless, of course, they are less than five years old, in which case it means you're impressed).   Of course, it's worthy of note that people tend to say this of either official sets, or MOCs that LEGO has showcased somewhere other than BZPower. Why? Obviously, because if a person doesn't p
