Would Anybody Read an Epic?

So I've been going through some of my older stories on my laptop, including a couple of Bionicle ones, notably Kulagi's Kanoka and Mystery on Keli Nui.   The first one was about an Onu-Matoran Kanoka maker in Metru Nui flying around evading Vahki and Gang Matoran and stuff. I'd reckon that it was one of my most popular stories ever on BZP, and going back I really liked the overall flow of the plot, although there were some things I would change now.   The mystery one was for the epics mystery c

Worth The Risk?

My professor is telling me / the class one particular way NOT to start our essay... so I'm tempted to start off exactly that way, go on for a few sentenses, then stop and say "Just Kidding" and start off on the real essay. Hopefully I'll e able to get a small chuckled out of the grader... worse is I tick them off and they're in a foul modd while reading the rest of it. Is it worth the risk?   Plus, in addition, I will be quoting Shakespeare for my Philosophy paper. And I am going to wing th

Worst Weekend Ever

Because The Lego Movie came out and I can't see it because the entire city froze and all the theaters seemed to have closed down. Stupid snow storm and freezing rain.   Oh, and I lost my phone. But tracked it down, and a co-worker picked it up for me. So it's not that distressful of a situation anymore.

Worst Set

Hey BZP!   Tell me what's the worst set of the year? The set you just absolutely hate and never want to see more of.   Because I will buy said set and then review it!*   MUHAHAHAHA     *Okay, no I won't.

Working on my Ninjago Story

Y'know, for that contest.   The problem; I'm already at 7 pages and I'm just now getting to the climax. And I haven't even done my whole big Green Ninja reveal yet either!   I know there's a lower limit of 500 words... but this might be pushing the upper limit a bit much. It might work better as a short epic instead of a looooooooong short story.

Working on my BBC Contest Entry

Sorry, no picts, but I can at least talk about it and the contest in general.   I was already planning a project that would require me to rebuild a Toa Metru (I won't tell which one yet). I was thinking about designing it akin to my Toa Mata revamps, in that I would build a custom torso and then use my basic and unarmored limb design. But this contest gave me an excuse to try it out a little more CCBS style. Unfortunately, the finished model ended up being too big for my original project, so I n

Work Related Injuries

I may or may not have passed out at work today.   At one moment, I'm standing up and then start laughing at a hilarious joke a coworker said. The next moment I'm on the floor. I honestly don't know what happened.   If its fatal, at least I could say I died as I lived... laughing hard at an offensive joke.   Also finished my collection of series 14 figs, got some Star Wars buildable figures, bought a frickin' car... the usual.

Word Count

I can push out a 2,000 word story based off a couple of ideas in about an hour. But it takes me 5 hours to crank out a 900 word essay. Gosh darn it, only once have I had an assignment based on writing fiction; why can't all essays go that easily for me??

Woot! Brick Con!

Roa will not be there, so we have a lot of work to do in order to fill in the gaps that would normally be filled by her MOCs. So SEND MOCS TO BRICKCON!! And you didn't hear it from me (or, well, maybe you did) but sent in MOCs might even come back with good, old fashion collectibles!   Anyway, if you have questions about Bionicle at BrickCon, you could ask me. Or, if you'd prefer a more timely response, you could ask EmperorWhenua. We'll be the Bionicle coordinators there this time round.

Wood Cuts

They have their ups and downs. They're a quick way to make alot of money, and they get you exersising. On the other hand, they take alot of time to complete, and the following day, you are very sore. I currently can't feel my wrists because they're numb with chopping wood with a sledge. Luckily, I don't have any essays to write... I just have to type them up. :annoyed2:

Wood Cut

This morning, I am going to host a Boy Scout wood cut to act as a fundraiser for my Eagle Project. I got really lucky… a tree fell down in our backyard, and it’s pretty big. That makes for a lot of wood to cut and sell, and thus have money to fund my Eagle Project. So all I need to do is some splitting, hauling, and selling, and then some people have firewood to burn in their fireplace, and I have some cash. It works out for everybody.   Meanwhile, I am reading Jared Diamond’s book Collapse

Wolverine

I saw the movie this weekend, and I really enjoyed it.   To start this out, let me say that I’m a big X-Men fan. Well, as far as the television series are concerned, since I’m not quite as into comic books. But the previous movies have been… okay at best. Not super impressed with them compared to the Avengers and such.   But honestly, I don’t like Wolverine. In general, his character is just too gruff or whatever; he’s always angry and violent and doesn’t seem like the most likeable protagon

Wireless Keyboard

I had my problems with a laptop's keyboard. This included having the text jump around where I was typing, so I could hardly keep my sentesnes together. I had trouble capitalizing letters ( AnD I doN't SeEm tO haVe thAt trOubLe nOw.) The keys were harder to press and easier to miss, and the keyboard got hot after a lot of typing (something with having most of the processing going on beneath the keyboard probably contributes to the problem). But now I've done away with all those probems, (and

WIP Art

This is for a story project I've been working on on-and-off since at least 2015. The writing is almost done, but I always meant to include some artwork for it, so finally got that bit started today. I'm somewhat happy with how the gradients turned out.   Eventually I'll get around to posting it on BZP. I'm proud of it, but I doubt it'll get any views, given the levels of activity on this site nowadays.

Winter Vs Summer

Rain in the summer? Big deal. I've been on plenty of Boy Scout summer trips where it was more than drizzly.   Wind? When can you not expect it? (When you're on the sail boat, of course)   Snow? In June? Not in the Northwest!   But, no we're getting snowfall in the passes tonight.   Just... wow, yeah. Colorado, I could expect this. Not Washington.   Unfortunately, I just get to look forward to rain down at this elevation. Lovely weather for finals week.   This really isn't so bad,

Win

I kinda won like the biggest raffle from the LU team today. Sadly, I have to wait until tomorrow to collect it, seeing as they haven't finished building it yet, but still... so epic.   Even tho I did forget most of my system MOCs at home (I was too busy taking care of the stuff people sent to me) this Con is treating me well. Sure, I stressed out about the hotel and everything, but I was like first in line at the Lego Store event. Yeah, I was freaking out when I had to come up with the troph

Will Not Use Shuffle

Anyway, I've listened to my whole iTunes list a few times before. (I also would like to note that, with the exception of a few songs, I enjoy every single track in my music library and don't have a bajillion songs like other people, so listening to the whole thing, while it takes some time, is still doable)   But... I like there to be some sort of order there. So it's not a random shuffle.   I've done sorting by play count... I've also gone alphabetically by song title, album, and artist name

Why Won't This Come Out Right?

I went to lecture. I bought the textbook. I'm reading through the textbook, which is basically the same thing as the lecture. I have the lecture slides online too.   I should be able to understand this. But why isn't my html working right?   ARRRGGG! And I have no time to get help until Friday, and it's due tonight. Looks like I'll be using some late days...

Why Why Why!?

I have the TV. I have the proper cables. I have the time... I had to cancel on some other things. So why isn't the NBC channel coming in?   WHY!!   I'm totally going to miss Heroes.

Why Unicorns Are Extinct

Because we took all their horns to make ice cream cones.       ... yeah, I can't claim credit for this idea; I saw it somewhere at BrickCon. But, I must admit, it's a very cool idea. And since I had just bought the $10 castle set (for the pieces) I decided to make use of it.

Why I Won't Win

News Flash: My Epic Contest #7 Mystery Story got past the judges and made it into the final poll with five other fabulous stories. I have not yet voted; I want to read all the other stories first before I do, and until then I do not know what the statistics actually are. But here are a few reasons I don't believe I'll do well in the polls... because, yes, I am pessimistic.   1: The story is too long. It is the second longest one there, I'm sure, after Boneiii's. But Bones can always get a

Why I Like Being a Lifetime Premier

Back when I first bought premier membership, 6 months was like $6, 1 year was $10, and lifetime was $25.   So if it lasted for more than 4 six month periods (2 years) or the equivalent of 2.5 years, then lifetime membership would pay for itself. (Assuming that BZP's life was greater than said 2.5 years.)   I've had it for 10 years. Yeah, it's paid for itself.   And that was before price increases!   Also, I clearly have very little of what some call "a life."   Anyway, probably won't blog to

Why I Just Love Scouts...

Looks like I need to increase my blog rating by, maybe, writing about something. So here it goes.   Spent the weekend on a scout trip. We canoed in a mountain lake. I went with the venture patrol and canoed to the camp site in the middle of the night. It’s quite something to be out on the water in pitch black darkness, and you can only see the other canoes from the flashlights (and the only person who knew where we were going didn’t have his on. What fun). Then, over the weekend, there we

Why I Don't Watch Lost

I could give some of the usual excuses. I watched the second and third season of Lost, but then I *ahem* lost interest in the show. Maybe it was because I went to school and didn't have time to keep up. (Yeah right, I have Hulu) Maybe its because I got tired of watching episodes where there was no progression at all in the plot, but rather a lot of useless characterization (or really not much anyway... tons of characters still remained mysterious even after so many episodes) It was turning

Why Did I Ever Post In Pink?

Okay, so I was viewing this topic and found a link to this news topic of old. Having remembered replying to that review topic, I opened it up to relive some of the nostalgia of olden days. I saw a few posts by older members who are no longer so active, as well as some others who've definitely changed a bit. Then I found my own post. It was obviously a winter topic because I was in one of my "post in pink" crazes that I went into for a couple of months each year.   Okay, so the color is actu
