Lewa Phantoka

Okay, I'll say this up straight. I was very disappointed in my Lewa Phantoka set. So disappointed that I'm writing to Lego about it. See if you can tell why.     How much time do you need to figure it out?   It took me a while. I purchased the thing at Target, along with some other essential supplies that could only be obtained through big scale retail stores. (Yum, Goldfish) I poured the pieces out and began to construct him, but I was kind of curious how the back of his body was cons

Hit Right on Target

I'd been hearing some reports about Bionicle showing up in Target, so I decided to swing by my local one... and found some.     For Bionicle, they only had the two protectors, so I grabbed both. Oddly enough, the cashier was really excited to see they had them in and was bummer when I said there were only a few left. (And then seemed reluctant to sell me the ones I picked up... I assume it was all part of an act.) In addition to Bionicle, they had some other 2015 stuff from other themes, includ

Bzp Blank

I just realized that I'm really dulling out on BZP. I have very little to do here anymore.   I have nothing to add in the library, as none of my stories are progressing. And all the stories that I regularly read are also stalled out.   The RPG I was in was closed down... and I'm really not into joining new RPGs... I only joined TOS because I already knew Kumata's backstory.   There's no new BBC contest, and I don't have any parts to MOC with anyway.   All I do in the forums is check on the

Web Browser

Okay, I'm in a situation. I'm taking a web programming class, and the instructor was telling us specific web browsers to use, and he specifically stated that Internet Explorer is a no go for this class, because it works funny on programs.   Yes, I use IE. I have never had a problem with it. The layout is simple and there's not too much junk on the top or sides to bog me down. (For a while, I had a McAfee toolbar that wouldn't go away, but it's since been dealt with. For virus protection, I

Bbc 56

OMG, I posted a topic in BBC! I must say, it's been a while.   And yes, I am still using BBC and not BBCC. I'm a traditionalist, and I've entered more BBC contests than many of you, I'm sure. (Not all of you, but most. I've made MOCs for 31 of the 56 contests, had my first disqualified and didn't enter another few, and only made it to the semi-finals on a technicality twice.) It's not much, but I back up my record of most sucky MOCs entered into contests over the years. (This is proof tha

20 Questions G2 Edition

Let's play 20 Questions! I think you should know the basic rules; I'm thinking of something Bionicle related, and you ask questions to help narrow it down! Here are some of the more detailed rules:   1: The questions can only be yes or no questions. So "Is this your first blog post since July?" works but "Why haven't you been more active?" doesn't. (The answers are "Yes" and "Work.")   2: There can only be ONE question per post, and no double posting.   3: I will edit my answer into every body's

Brick: Fair Vs Con

This year, I attended both premier Lego conventions on opposite ends of the country: BrickFair and BrickCon. I've heard a lot of claims that BrickFair is better because... um, well, because so and so said so. Having been to both, I feel the need to properly compare the two conventions, and note the pros and cons of each.   And, as a disclaimer, these are all my opinions. I am not saying that one convention is BY FACT better than the other. These are my preferences and feel free to disagree

Stop Me

Stop me whenever the titles to the Mata Nui Saga news bulletins get too outlandish.   Because my creativity is like arsenic; toxic in large quantities.   And also toxic in small quantities, if that simile holds. Wait, let me rethink this...

Bionicle Toa Lewa And Toa Onua Pens

I mentioned my interest in getting some of these pens for the masks. Well, I managed to purchase two, and they finally got in. (I’m still not done with my search… four more to go.) Since I have them, I’m going to make it into a review! (Can’t go on the front page tho. Something about an 11 year old, rare-to-begin-with product that’s super hard to find even nowadays...)     First off, the packaging for this is very neat. I believe it follows the standard design for Lego pens back in the day; i

20 Questions 14: 2004

Let's Play 20 Questions. I will think up something pertaining to Bionicle, and you must ask me questions to see who it is.   Rules   1: The questions can only be yes or no questions. So "Is he pink" works but "what color is he" doesn't.   2: There can only be one question per post, and no double posting.   3: I will edit my answer into every body's post. You can only add a second question in your post if I have already edited in my response.   I am thinking of something from 2004. It may

Mata Nui Elections 08: Votings

My Bionicle political comedy has been updated, and now comes the exciting part. You read what the canidates have to say... now you can vote for them.   Here's a quick overview of the canidates.   Tahu: Removal of all things Ko-Matoran Kopaka: Removal of all things Ta-Matoran Gali: Education above all else (even sanity) Lewa: Always answers positively Pohatu: He rocks Onua: Dude, man, like, wow...   Since I know many of you have a fobia of the Comedy forum, I have opened this blog entry

Name Change

I don't know, I've been thinking this whole "Xccj" thing is getting a little old. I've always liked the "X" part of my name, I feel it makes me unique. Of course, I've a strong suspicion that I just added the "C"s because they were right next to the "X" on the keyboard. Hmm, who knew. And, of course, the "J" is just there cause I like the letter (and my first name happens to start with it). But lately, the whole Xccj thing just isn't cutting it. I need something new... something rad... som

I Guess The Bigger Question Is

Is there even an audience that still reads my blog at all?   Like no replies lately. Or maybe it's just that my content's been boring. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME? CAT PICTURES? I MAY HAVE SOME OF THOSE ACTUALLY.   But I'll post a short list of borning updates anyway. Nano: Have 12,000 words written. But I'm progressing so far in the plot that I'm afraid I might finish before I hit the goal. Like, my other related stories have only gotten to 30K-40K, and I'm not going to add in excess just for the

I Can Has Prototype?

I got my Brickfair MOC back today (it was only a small one, so there wasn't much shipping cost. That's me, Mr. Cheapo.) Besides everything being there, there was something else...   A Prototype Strakk Helmet!   I was kind of surprised at the size... having not bought Strakk, I still thought his helmet was bigger. Huh, oh well. It's a weird color, kind of a mix of gunmetal and dark red, but I'm already designing a MOC around it. So it will be brought to BrickCon! Thanks again, B6, and all

Somebody Find Me...

I'm playing an assassin game on campus. I have never seen the dude I'm after, and have no idea how I can pick him out. But there's also somebody after me. And that means that there's somebody out there who wants to know where I am, and wants to find me. Of course, it's only for a short shoulder tap and then move on to the next victim, but I take pleasure where I get it.   Paranoia is totally going to pay off... I think I'll come to class via bush disguise tomorrow...

The B Z P Blog Story

Presenting...     Have you ever seen those "Choose Your Own Adventure" books? Instead of being a linear read, each chapter ends by giving giving you options. Thus, instead of one storyline, you have a book that can take you on a dozen different journeys.   That's what this story is supposed to be. You start off in the same place, but at the end of each chapter, you get to choose which path you'll take, and then see where the story leads you. There are over a dozen different endings, and a full

I Watched Frozen Last Night

And stayed up too late watching it cause I had to be in to work today, gut jeeze traffic was mucked up and made my evening commute 2.5 hours so I had to stay up late to watch it anyway.   Anyways, my thoughts below, and some spoilers, I guess? Reader beware.   ...   So I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I like the socially awkward princess; Disney needs more of them. I mean, I'm all for confident female leads and stuff, but there was a more realistic feel of Anne compared to others. (Or maybe I jus

A 10 Question Fad?

First, Laughin'Man posted an interesting 10 Question entry. Shortly afterwards, Bundalings the Surprise posted his own follow-up entry. If I post one next, will this thing turn into a fad?   Let's test it out.   10 Questions  1. What’s better: a husky, a cougar, a pack of huskies, a pack of cougars, or a pachyderm? 2. Would you like to discuss Einstein’s theory of relativity and how it applies to modern day physics and the string theory? 3. Do you support Jonism? 4. Do you know what Jon

Owl City

Strange. I heard the "Fireflies" single on the radio a bunch and really liked it. Then I happened to listen to some of their other stuff so I broke down and bought the entire CD (on Amazon... electronically) The album is pretty good, and there are only a couple of songs I don't like listening to.   Now, suddenly, it's like everybody's into this band. Did I just jump on the bandwagon early, or has everybody always liked them and I'm just now noticing it?

Yes, I have no self control. It's especially difficult when I have actual money on me. But anyway, I passed through Fred Meyers and just happened to see a 15% off sale on all LEGO Bricks... seriously, wait a week and Fred Meyers will have some new kind of sale. It wasn't great, but it made a $13 set $11... so I saved about two bucks.   Anyway, onto my last Mistika review (unless somebody gifts me with a set)...     Okay, I have to start off by saying this. His spikes are wicked cool. Ye

I have kidnapped your precious Swert. If you ever want to see your web-site owner again, please send a payment of $150 to Xccj at Bricks Cascade. (Okay, it may be a bit much, so I'm willing to haggle.)   You have until Saturday at public hours to pay, or else I feed him to the Bionicle-hating AFOLs.
