Animorphs

So I heard somewhere that they're revamping the Animorphs series. For those who don't know about it (and are thus that much more uncool) it was a late 90s book series about a group of teens who could change into animals who fought off a secret alien invasion. Real good stuff, but it ended like way long ago. So I heard that they're planning to re release the series, so a whole other generation can enjoy the stories. But... they're planning to change pop culture references to fit the current t

When I Was Your Age, Pluto Was A Planet

You know what, that phrase is so cool that it can even withstand the beating of overuse.   Anyway, I was listening to a podcast about Pluto (the planet) and specifically why people hated seeing it go. The answer the guy gave was that it shared the name with the dog Disney came up with. (And really, who doesn't luv Pluto the dog?) Lots of people were "upset" when it was demoted from planet status into dwarf planet. I'm kinda on the neutral line. I think they should've kept Pluto on the list

Me Can Has Promotion?

I'm a staffie now? Cool.   Now I'm a News Reporter. Now I just have to figure out exactly how I'm supposed to report the news...   And I totally can't come up with any jokes tonight that aren't in bad taste. I was thinking of "Oh, whoze that noob they're promoting" but I actually take pride in my writing (most of the time). So now I have to live up to the great legends in News Reporting and actually do work for BZP. My slacking days are over.

20 Questions 19: 2009

Let's Play 20 Questions. I will think up something pertaining to Bionicle, and you must ask me questions to see who it is.   Rules   1: The questions can only be yes or no questions. So "Is he pink" works but "what color is he" doesn't.   2: There can only be one question per post, and no double posting.   3: I will edit my answer into every body's post. You can only add a second question in your post if I have already edited in my response.   I am thinking of something from 2009. It may

Risin' High

LOL. I finally achieved a full 5,000 posts. Yeah, it took me 5.5 years, whereas I got my first 1,000 in just 1 year. But, hey, being constantly active has its rewards, even if I only have like 2 posts a day (if that).   And even cooler, I'm not the 60th top poster. So if you go into the members section, order them by total posts (descending) and set the number to 60, then I'm at the very bottom. First time I've ever been on the first page like that for posting. (Even if you have to extend

Not Now!

I love it how people so easily mess up the words "not" and "now" when they're typing. By switching those two words, the sentence can completely change its meaning.   For example   I am not eating your arm.   I am now eating your arm.   "Not" implies a negatory meaning, as the user believes whatever action they are addressing will not come to pass.   "Now" implies an observation, as the user is usually stating something that is obvious in the here and now.   Basically, by switching the two

20 Questions 15: 2005

Yes, this aren't coming on a regular basis anymore: sorry. I'll eventually update my sidebar... eventually...   Let's Play 20 Questions. Tweeting

Wow, I just got an e-mail for one of my summer classes talking about what to do before the semester starts, and the two things were "Get Textbook" and "Get a Twitter account." So I broke down and signed up.   But what the hey... there's already an "Xccj" user on there. Dude, you totally ripped off my name.   I might link BZP to it... but I dunno how much harsh language I'll be using. If you want to find it, just send me a PM or something. I dunno.   New technologies... sheesh.

Pi Day

It's March 14, abbreviated as 3/14. Which are the first three digits to pi, that mathematical constant that is of or relating to anything circular.   Pi = 3.14... uh, 3.141592654   (I can get it to the third digit, and my calculator can get it to the tenth digit. Obviously, my calculator is smarter... and I'm not even using my graphing calculator.)   So, yahoo, celebrate. More specifically, celebrate at March 14th, 1:59:26 (I don't think it matters if it's AM or PM, unless you use military

National Pie Emporium

Wanna read a comedy that mentions pie over 30 times in less than 1000 words? Then I have a story for you.   The Pie Shop Sketch   If you're not man enough to look... well, then you're not man enough to look. (I dunno, do I get any women readers anymore?)

I'm Gonna Lose

Well, apparently my entry is gonna lose in the System Building Contest Poll. That was pretty much guaranteed, since I never win in BBC, and I've had a lot of experience to back it up. But it didn't help that NOBODY FREAKIN TOLD ME WHAT THEY THOUGHT OF THE MOC IN THE FIRST PLACE. Is it good, horrible bad, fine but not enough to shine compared to the others? I dunno.   Granted, the same thing happened with my COT short story. (ultraviolence, I thought we had a deal. I read and reviewed your

I Hate Public Transportation

Here's my rant for the day...   Okay, so I had to take a bus to catch a train. I tried to catch a bus, but as I turned the corner, I just saw it leaving. Considering I was hauling all my luggage too, I couldn't try and catch it, so I tried to wait for the next bus. The next bus came, and I got on, because the sign said that it was going downtown, just like the other bus.   Only 73 goes downtown next to the train station. 74 goes to the Space Needle. By the time I figured that out, I did

Bricks Cascade: The Big Post

Wow, like, seriously, I was going to do a day-by-day post, but things just happened so quickly that I hardly had time to just glance through my email, much less post a full blog entry! It was fun and awesome and I hope we can do it again.   I had a great group of people who stayed at my place. It was hectic scheduling all their arrivals / departures and everything (not to mention the process of threatening asking them to show up in the first place.) Steven (Swert) came down from Tacoma with o

Where Do You Buy Collectible Minifigures?

Just a quick question. I know that most people have to rely on TRU, but what about other places. I rely exclusively on Fred Meyers, but they're more of a local chain store, so you won't find them outside the Pacific Northwest. What are other places where you've been able to pick up the mystery bags?   Thanks in advance for answering!

The Truth.

"Popular people are happiest."   Okay, it may be paraphrasing, but I heard it on NPR Science Friday. The more happy friends you have, the happier you are.   So what about us antisocial types? Are we doomed to forever be depressed?     PS: I'd be alot happier if I wasn't still sick.   IT"S TRUE! Colbert even referenced the same study in his show today. And he's much more reliable than NPR.   Although he put emphesis on how happiness is contageous. So if you wanna be happy, hang arou

Some Bloggy Type Stuff

I've thought about writing a new blog, but when I had a nice long one a couple of days ago, the server ate it. And then burped. So here I go again...   Anyway, I have completely solved my roommate troubles by moving across the hallway. It's different, but much more bearable.   Unfortunately, the hassle of moving meant that I was slammed with a ton of homework on Monday, so that wasn't very fun, especially because the new Bionicle game came out at about the same time.   Speaking of the ga

Pizza Delivery Is Funny

There's a list on the box.   "Reasons why the delivery exceeded 30 minutes: Traffic, Weather, Alien Abductions, Other, None: it's on time."   Also.   "Why are you reading this? We sure hope the pizza isn't in the box while you're flipping it over."

It Could Be Worse

Face it, everybody's been complaining about the sets recently. (Well, maybe not everybody, but lots of older members) If Bionicle went on in sets, they would probably continue to stick with the basic Inika build for the canisters and Agori for the smaller sets. Hopefully this will give the new line a chance to start off using new designs, although I doubt there'll be too many new molds... (Any maybe they'll move away from the strictly Metru color scheme and bring... dare I say it... Mata Gr

I am angry. A whole day shifting through computery things and still no success.   Okay, here's the problem. I have an iPod, and a library on iTunes (and a separate one in Windows Media player, but I digress). I've had the iPod for a while now and I've been able to sync new songs to it regularly. But today, when I went to update it, iTunes wouldn't recognize it. I got a message saying "An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the i

Gali Mistika

It's that time again. Time for summer set reviews, by yours truly.   Anyway, I got a good deal on three Mistika, so I'm reviewing them now. First up is that ever lovable...     Before you continue, be warned; these are my opinions on the set. I've seen alot of controversy over it, so if you have a problem about my views, keep it to yourself. (Unless you're just here to point out that, despite my constant assurances of the opposite, the Metru and Vahki limbs are the same length)   Okay

Planning Ahead

In between school and work (and more school and more work) I have started to plan for BrickCon. I have travel plans made. I have a hotel booked. I also have some official Bionicle coordinator stuff done too. And EW has helped a bit too. And we have a couple of cool surprises in store. The event's gonna be pretty awesome.   As for those negative comments I heard about BrickCon on the last Powercast... take a hike. At least Seattle weather is more livible than that DC humidity.

Lego Conspiracy

Is Lego controlling the release of the leaked pictures in order to create hype on fansites?   I dunno, probably not.   But here's what they should do.   They should create these totally bogus sets and release them. All the people will see them and complain. Other companies will steal the idea and make their own. And then when Lego releases the new (real) sets, everybody is completely impressed and surprised, and the other companies try to sell their plastic junk.
