Turkey Shoot

Read The Turkey Shoot by Bohrok Kal of Death. It's one of my most favorite epics I've ever read on BZP, and has everything. Action. Humor. Even some morals. It's a pretty amazing epic, it's long, and, more amazing, it's completed. I want to give a big thanks to BKoD for writing such a cool story and finishing it too. Being an author of a few discontinued stories myself, I know how hard it is to continue writing such a long story... with a lot of long breaks as well. But he did it, and it

Tunneler Beast

Click here for full review   I know this shouldn't be the most interesting part of the review, but I'm proudest of throwing in the word "spelunking" in the intro.   Also, I tried using gray baseplates as a background, to give it a more Lego-y feel. I think it works, but I could potentially see it as being too busy. Thoughts? Or lack thereof.   I also expect to get a lot of flak about my hatred of the hand design, but I stand by my opinion that they're terrible. Okay, I might not have worded my

Tuma Camera Review

Read it here.   A couple of extra side notes...   I took all these pictures in August, when it actually was summer where I'm from. It took me a while to write up the review around school and stuff, and then it was on hold because we had better reviews coming in.   Also, I no longer have the camera. I gave it to Roa at BrickCon... although at the time the battery seemed to be dead, so we couldn't actually use it, but she was the only one who didn't want to smash the camera to a pulp.   St

Trouble

Did you knwo that some plastic covering sheets used for the walls of our Haunted House give of a noxic gas when they burn and whither away? The fire marshals did, so we had to tear down all the plastic walls (and that was all the walls) and replace them with wooden walls. And that means, instead of stapling thin plastic, we have to nail in heavy wooden sheets over and over again... and again, and again. So that pushed our opening night back a few days...   Not that I'm complaining. If the f

Trip To The Lego Store

It was a little more exciting than usual. Lotsa stuff to blog about anyway.   First off, I saw something odd on the bus ride over. The bus was going across the bridge (the long, floating one ) and I looked up in the sky and saw... a dark rectangle. And I have no idea what it was! It was pretty far away, and the sky was cloudy but not rainy, but I saw this really dark rectangle high up in the sky. It looked like the nearby buildings, which were in the shadows because the sun wasn't really

Triki's Best

“Password?”   “Speed-fast crash.”   “Correct! And if you’ve done that, you’ve come to the ever-right place! Welcome to Triki’s Hover-Bikes, Repairs and Enhancements! If I can’t fast-fix it, you can’t fly it!”   “So, how can I ever-help you? Need a muffler? New paint style? Super charged engines that make it look like your bike’s on flame-fire?”   Yes, that was my Mystery Epic's secret weapon... it had Triki in it! These are his best quotes from the story, and since nobody is reading it and

Tren Krom

Wow, that's been a popular blog title as of late. I wonder what it's all about... a conspiracy in Ta-Wahi, to be sure.   *Loves going against the grain*   In other news...   *Hates school*   That's all.

Trash Chomper Alternative History

FYI The 20 questions game is still going in the previous entry! You guys haven't figured it out yet.   So today I picked up the Trash Chomper Lego Movie set, because I wanted too. It is a real joy to play with; good models both ways, and the chomping function is probably my favorite out of all the 2-in-1 sets. (Although I think I still prefer the figs and pastel colors in the ice cream truck set, so I'll get that one next.) But this one has plenty of nice green elements. And it will be a

Translations in Science Fiction

Okay, this is an odd topic but I was thinking about it and decided to spread said thoughts in a blog entry, so... yeah.   So. Science Fiction. You know how when humans meet a new alien species, the aliens tend to speak to them in English. Well, at least in cheap science fiction. Or if its a Japanese Anime, the aliens know Japanese. Its a problem that writers have to face when they make these first contacts. Of course they want some sort of communication between the two parties, but it's al

Transforming?

Wow, the staff has transformed into transformers. I wonder why they didn't do this in the first place... throw us off with ponies, turtles, and army dudes, and now onto the big robots. maybe next they can move onto that old Lego theme... you know, the one with big robots, some evil and some good.   Anyway, I didn't see anybody take on the name Frenzie, which was my favorite Decepticon from the movie. Except that he was like made only for the movie, and I've only seen the movie so I'm oblivio

Traitorous Toa

First of all, I have a BBC topic for you guys to check out. I won't just offer you a link, but a picture that's also a link!     Also, I've finally updated Slizers on Mata-Nui with the 60th Chapter! Three more to go, and this will be my longest epic ever! Coincidentally, it features Toaified Ahkmou and Makahi.   So, if you want to check out one (or both) of those topics and maybe leave some replies (although they'd be in the review topic for the epic) then I'd be veeery happy.   And al

Toy Story 3

I've seen it.     Okay, I've seen the first hour anyway, at a pre screening done at my university. According to the director guy, they aren't even finished with it yet. (And a few of the scenes we saw could've used some work, although I don't know if that was Pixar's fault or the university projector. (Last year, at a showing of Star Trek on the same projector, the film got ripped in half right as they were shoving the ear leech in, and then there was an hour's wait while they tried to pat

Toured Portland Today

So I had a class field trip to downtown Portland. (For the record, while I've been to Portland I don't go down there all the time like I know some people do... hey, you see how much I blog, where do you think I spend my time??) I was running low on time, so I ended up parking in a lot next to the Oregonian building, where my class was going to tour. (They're a local news-paper, but also have an extensive online news site, and we talked to people about video journalism. It was cool.) Anyway,

Tough As Stone

Not me tonight. Uhg, my Wednesdays are so long... three lecture classes and a quiz section. Some of them are on the opposite end of the campus... which isn't that bad when it's not cold. The weather has taken a dip these last few days. Yeah, it's been nice and clear, but cold. And worst, the snow froze! We got a light covering of snow the other day, about enough to make the untrodden ground white. But when the air cleared and the temperature dropped... the wet snow turned to clumpy ice

Totally Need To Post to News

Man, I'm flying out tomorrow for an interview. Tomorrow morning. Bah, I dislike waking up early. Plus, I have to write a short essay, and I've had ideas for it flowing through my head all week, but now I just need to force it down in writing! In addition to that, I have a news story that I kind of need to work on before I leave... so yay long night. (I can sleep on the flight over, I guess, and it doesn't matter since the interview is actually on Monday morning so I can be rested and prepar

Torn

I might've blogged about this before, I dunno, but I doubt any of you remember it anyway.   So anyway, a while back I bought this song by some artist named Natalie Imbruglia. Never heard of her before, don't like her other music very much, but her one hit "Torn" is pretty good. But that's not the first place I ever heard that music...   Back in 1998, when the Internet was young (and I was too) I was viewing some sites on dolphins. (Yes, I like dolphins) Mostly I was working on an art pro

Torn

Back in like the mid nineties (96-97) when I was new to the internet, I came across this sound clip called "torn." It was a nice melody, and besides, I found it on a website about dolphins, so what's not to like about it. It didn't have any lyrics to it... a straight instrumental. For maybe three or four years I listened to it on the computer, but it didn't make the transfer in 2000 to our new computer. Despite that, I sometimes get the melody stuck in my head.   Every once in a while, I he

Toothless

My latest obsession is How to Train Your Dragon. Why? Because I bought the DVD and rewatched it a bajillion times, that's why.   So I MOCed the main dragon, Toothless.     Yay and stuff.   I think he looks cool anyway.

Too Sleepy

But I muuuust blog...   Lats night, I stayed up way too late hanging out with my first roomie, the one who moved out last quarter to go hang out at a frat. So he hung around in my room doing a last minute (seriously) make-up lab while I cleaned, and we have various Fox animated shows running in the background.   Today, I woke up way too early (about the time my classes would begin normally), finished packing, and cleaning. The stupid dorms rented out a vacuum because I had to clean my room.

Tomorrow

Once I am done with this last assignment tonight, I will be finished with all schoolwork for the year. Then I plan on dumping out all my Lego bricks and building something big. I dunno what. Maybe a castle. Maybe a sky scraper. Maybe a massive mountain of multicolored bricks that will blind someone if they look too closesly at it for too long.

Tom Petty

He may not be The Beetles or Pink Floyd, but Tom Petty sure has some great songs and is one of my favorite artists. And I get to go to a concert tonight to hear him! Yay. It sounds like it'll be really fun, and I hope he plays some of his older music as well as some new stuff as well. It'll be my first concert, so I hope it's cool. My mom says I should be a shirt, but I've heard they can cost up to $60. Talk about a rip off when all I want to do is listen to music. I hope it's worth it

Tolerance To Pain

Eh, this toe sugery I had isn't even that painful.   *numbing stuff wears off*   AHH! MY FEET MY FEET! OH THE PAIN!   *takes painkiller medicine*   Okay, now it's still sore but not as bad...   *a few hours later*   ARG THE PAIN!!   ... and I have to walk further tomorrow.

Today is Just Too Hot

I'll just preface this in saying that I have no heat tolerance.   So, I spent all of last summer in an apartment with no Air Conditioning and it was terrible. I decided to get ahead of the curve and got an (expensive) portable AC unit a few months ago. But its loud and is constantly filling up with water that needs to be changed every 40 minutes when its on, but as needy as it was, it did provide cool air for a bit.   But it's been in the upper 90s here this week, and then the bloody interior fa

Toa Kaita

I was thinking to myself, why not celebrate my 300th blog entry with an MOC!   But Xccj, you suck at MOCing...   Silence!   *Ahem* Anyway, here's an exclusive MOC to go along with a few sets I recently purchased.     Yeppers, it's a Toa combo of the Phantoka... well, Toa. Something I kinda enjoy doing is limiting myself to using only pieces found in sets... and in this case I didn't have much of a choice, because I only have a few canister sets with me.   This dude has got some pretty p
