Details Of Amazing Weekend
So I went to Meaghan's house for Columbus Day weekend, since I had today off.
We had something special planned for the Saturday. I took Meaghan to King Richard's Faire because she really wanted to go. We wore these outfits. I didn't take my sword though because I planned on buying a real one there.
Which I did. When we arrived, we walked the assorted shops and found the weapon smith. I bought myself a saber, which was nicely oiled and shiny. However I could not unsheath it while I was there.
We walked around some more at the shops and then made our way to the Tournament Field for the first joust (which was France, England, Germany, and Spain). We sat on the French side, unknowingly, because it had a great view of the field, plus we were on the side of the knight that Meaghan thought was really hot, so we rooted for him.
After that we joined up with Meaghan's friends and ate. Place had good food.
Then it was time for the second joust. We sat on our knight's side again, and we learned he was Sir Felippe of France. He had pirates for bouncers, and the guy was awesome. We also realized Meaghan was wearing the guy's colors as well (Purple and Gold). Dude did a nice job this round, and was also challenged by the German dude to a joust to the death.
And while that was being prepared, we did some more shop browsing. I bought Meaghan a nice leather corset (she really likes leather and the smell of it). I also bought a hat and a wooden staff (for my upcoming Black Mage cosplay). Once we settled on stuff, we headed over for the final joust.
All in all, the jousts are just theatrics, but wasn't bad. They used real weapons and were literally hitting each other with them. (I saw sparks fly when England and France dueled it out on the field). Sadly our knight lost to England, but he technically won second place.
And that was mainly my weekend, other than spending sweet time with Meaghan.
