A Fistful Of Krana

Sunday morning and hard at work on Bionicle Legends #7, which is due in a few weeks. Vezon just slammed Matoro headfirst into a wall (bet he will regret that before he gets much older).

Writing to the absolute best music ever invented for writing -- the music of Ennio Morricone, who did the soundtracks for all those old Clint Eastwood "spaghetti Westerns" like A Fistful of Dollars and The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Boy, if you can't write a good action scene with that playing, you might as well pack up your keyboard. I wrote my first novel -- The River of God -- 100,000 words -- in six weeks playing that and the music from Hang 'Em High. (Since most sci-fi is just Westerns in space, it worked well.)

For those of you who are BIONICLE nostalgia lovers, look for appearances by the Toa Nuva and the Bahrag in Book 7. It is looking right now like the Nuva might have a larger role in 2007-2008 than I had at first thought they would (originally, I did not think they would be in the story at all next year). We have another story meeting in September in Denmark, at which time we should be making firm decision about exactly where we're going and what we're doing in the story for the next three years.

Anyway, here is the question for the day -- as I have already indicated on this board, the mystery of where krana come from will be answered next year. Of the other story "loose ends," which ones would you most like to see resolved? (Obviously, the answer is "all of them," but I am trying to find out which ones are MOST important to your story satisfaction.

Vezon is going to get older? :P

And about the music, I would guess you are right. That or the Indiana Jones soundtrack. Yay for spaghetti westerns and old Clint Eastwood movies!

About the Toa Nuva and Bahrag, I will love to see more of the Nuva next year. And the reapearance of the Bahrag is going to be awesome!

As for the biggest mysteries, other than the whole purpose of the bohrok swarms, the Bahrag, and the krana (those are the biggest mysteries I want solved), I would like to know more about the Order of Mata Nui and the Brotherhood of Makuta as well as learn about the Toa Matas' origin.

Thanks for the cool info Greg!

So Vezon and Matoro are both in 2007... which means the other Toa Inika are as well, and maybe even the other Piraka!

I can't wait to see the Toa Nuva and the Bahrag reappear. That'll be awesome!

As for the question, well, who held Matoro's hand in BL2 (although I think that is already going to be revealed), and maybe what happened to the Visorak after Metru Nui?

The Bahrag, sing it with me, The Bahrag.........

ahem....

will they be mentioned Greg or will they actually appear, if so, how will they get out from the proto prison?

You know, I'd really like to know how Bohrohk and Va are created, since we're on that theme again (yays!). Or just some more about the Exo-Toa, because I like the whole idea of walking suits of armor slamming rahi into the ground (just random). Keetongu is also quite a mystery. He reminds me of a wookie.

Anyway, that's what Matoro gets. Ye of ugly Kanohi must suffereth against a wall! Just kidding. Seriously, I wanted the Toa to become Turaga, get re-released like that with noble Kanohi and maybe a new part, then just govern Metru Nui as far as I can care. Or get re-released in dark colors and organic masks. I'd go either way.

For action scenes, I like Angels of the Silnces by Counting Crows on loop mode. It's just so actiony. But good luck trying not to kill your computer when you here Adam's voice. He he.

yes the return of the bahrag. well i have 3 questions that i would like to hear answered and that would be either

1) how did the bohrok come into existance(forget this if its already being revealed)

2) is Makuta really gone for good

or

3) what was the life of the Toa Nuva like before they entered their canisters(what events happened during that era)

To your question: The mysteries of the origin of the Toa Mata, now Nuva, revealed. They are the characters that will stay in the background till Mata Nui awakens, so I'd gladly want to know more of "their mystery".

I heard that there will be something revealed in the Atlas about their origin. If that's going to be the first piece of info, you could as well continue along that path--reveal all the mysteries of the Toa Mata's origin bit by bit during the next years.

Bahrag, are coming back... That's Awsome. Man and I thought the Toa Nuva were coming back, but I thought they were going to be Turaga, silly me.

B7 is sounding better and better. It's good to know Vezon won't die. :)

Toa Nuva and Bahrag? Awesome! Great to see that the Toa Nuva will have a role in upcoming years. And yeah, I love listening to that kind of music when writing out action scenes.

As for your question, my answer is- Where do Matoran come from. That would be an awesome mystery to have revealed.

Interesting, the Bahrag are back. And seeing as how Vezon is back, that must mean either the Inika haven't gotten the mask or that they have, and now Vezon is coming at them to reclaim it.

Excellent. :) Of all characters I like best, Bahrag are definitely one of the tops. Never saw a lot of spaghetti westerns, but adventure music sure spices the day up (like Lord of the Rings soundtrack, great for epic battle sequences)

Of all the mysterious I most like to see, its the secrets behind the Bahrag, the Bohrok's mission, the krana/kraata hybrid origin, and the reason behind the relationship between Toa and Bohrok(unless that was scrapped.)

the Order of Mata Nui and the Brotherhood of Makuta are also most appealing and intriguing, but the Bahrag hold tops for me.

Cool! Sounds like next year will really be cool.

However, one mystery would need to be where did the Nuva symbols come from? Or, where does energized Protodermis come from?

Well, atleast Vezon survives.

As for the mystery, I would like it to be 1 of three things,

1 how matoran are made

2 what the toa nuva did before they were put into the canisters

3 who made the bahrag, and the complete purpose of the bohrok.

Ah, I dunno... I for one like to listen to Pirates of the Caribbean whilst I write... excellent music.

Glad to hear Vezons not through with... Right into a wall... youch.

More about Krana, Toa, and Bahrag! Rock on!

Now onto those mysteries:

1) What are the stars above Metru-Nui?

2) Are there other ways to access the energy of a Toa stone besides a Suva?

3) What the heck are the bohrok supposed to clean Mata-Nui for? As a matter of fact, I'd like the whole mystery of the bohrok solved... that would own.

The thing I would like more about is the other islands. How many toa are there? If aprox. 300 made it to Metru-Nui does this mean that a long time ago all those islands were fairly connected (by trade routes not physicaly connected)?

Hmm...difficult question. Personally...

I want to know about the Bohrok mysteries. It would make sense, as seeing that the Krana one will be revealed. S'more insight in the Bahrag, Bohrok, Va, etc. would all be helpful. :)

I'd have to say a more detailed explanation of the "evolution" of Bohrok. . . better explained than it was in the back of the WoS novel. I'd like to know what they evolved from and all that, also including some details on the Va. . . they probably didn't even evolve, as they can servive on their own without Krana.

I'm just guessing, but Vezon probably feels a little "lonely" without the Ignika. . . he wants his friend back, in other words :P .

Awesome. New info on 2007. I was right in theorizing that Vezon would return in '07. ANyway, the mystery I want solved the most is either the Matoran's origins, or the mystery behind Dume. I really want to see or hear him as a Toa.

I can only wonder excitedly if the Toa Nuva will inadvertenly encounter their old foes. This reminds me; the one big BIONICLE mystery that I would like to see revealed is the nature of the relationship between the Bohrok/Bahrag and the Toa Nuva. Even four years later, Gahdok's (or was it Cahdok?) enigmatic line, "You dared to oppose your brothers!" keeps me up on some nights. Two different groups, each serving different purposes; how could they ever be linked?

Link to comment

Well, you might not qualify this as a loose end but I have been wondering about anymore information there might be about the Rahi Nui, you know, how Makuta made it or what happened to it after it got trapped on Mata Nui.

Link to comment

I'm not sure. There's so many. Here's a list :P :

The Shadowed One's real name.

Who built the Bohrok's nest and the rest of Mangaia.

The origin of the Bohrok, Bohrok Va, and Bahrag.

What substance turns Krana into Krana-Kal and Bohrok into Bohrok Kal.

Disks used to make Masks that were either not on your list, or marked on your list as "Unknown".

How Matoran, Beings, etc., come into being. (This will never make it.)

What the Red Star is. (Neither is this.)

The connection between the Toa Mata and the Bohrok. (Likely.)

The origins of Energized Protodermis.

What was on the tablet that Vezok stole.

What Jovan's team used the Ignika for.

Where the Kanohi Dragon came from, its purpose, if it went to Voya Nui or not, and where it is now.

Personally, I want to know more about the Brotherhood of Makuta. It seems to me that we're more in the dark about them than the Order of Mata Nui, and that doesn't seem right considering that the Order is supposed to be the one that's super-secret.

I mean, look at what we know: we have three Order members in the storyline, but only one Brotherhood member so far (a lot of their servants like the Visorak and Fauxrok, sure, but it's not the same). We know of a handful of Order activities; primarily ones concerning the Toa Metru and the Ignika plus a number of likelihoods (see the Wikipedia article), but of the Brotherhood's activities we're mainly kept in the dark: they had an army, but for what purpose? They stole the Avohkii and want the Vahi, but what else? Did they have a hand in putting Mata Nui to sleep?

Specifically, I'd like to know "our" Makuta's status in the Brotherhood; is he a leader that the Brotherhood is named after, or one among many that goes by a title of "Makuta"? I'd also like to know which of Makuta's schemes are his own and which are parts of larger Brotherhood plots.

Personally, I'd just like to find out who the first Toa were/are. That revelation doesn't have to come soon, but I'd like so see it occur sometime in BIONICLE, especially if there's a cool story behind it!
