Dear National Broadcasting Company

Stop lying. Your Olympics are not live.

Unless Canada manages to predict exactly what is going to happen, and constructs an impossibly realistic CGI rendering of said event, and airs it before you do.

Except it's not. Every gymnastics and swimming event they broadcast has already happened, and already been shown on CBC.

What does it say?

All I know is, NBC claims that they offer live coverage, and that Phelps' shot at the fourth gold medal (200m Fly) is "coming up". However, CBC has shown him winning that event, and the medal.

Well, if the Olympics are playing at 8 PM Eastern, then it's 8 AM at the Olympics. So they could be starting that early.

But I don't think that's right, because just tonight they showed Phelps' day schedule, and I don't think his first match was until 10 AM.

Well in Chicago, unless it's a replay, it looks live to me. =\ I guess not.

But I'm getting sick of the Commentary (In the U.S) Too over-patriotic.

Ooooh....Michael Phelps blah blah glorify...Let's replay Michael Phelps...Still glorifying Michael Phelps...blah blah blah...

><

Can't we watch other sports without being interrupted with Michael Phelps? >8O

Or Swimming without Michael Phelps in Every Sentence?

I don't deny his awesomeness at swimming, but I'm literally sick of all the things the commentators are repeating. ><

CF - I don't think China is 12 hours ahead, only 10 hours. I could be wrong though.

MICHAEL PHELPS IS GOD!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA...

This is why you watch CBC. You see it before America, and without the diefying of Phelps. Though he is awesome.

It annoys me too, especially since there's that "Live" logo in the corner. I have seen nothing saying exactly when these take place, such as "Previously recorded"

I can't wait until Michael Phelps loses one and the winning country rubs it in our face and like the USA does, pretend it wasn't a big loss when we know we'd be bragging too.

Like the Pats and the Superbowl, living in New England, I WAS THERE.

"Hey, at least we won 16 straight games in a row."

"Yeah, just had to lose the most important one."

It is live. Dead bodies don't make very good olympians.

It's called the Necrolympics, foo.

Psh. Michael Phelps will always win. Because he's just that amazing.

Hey, don't be mean. =(

For all you know, they're taping it live and sending to their HQ by mail thinking timezones work differently. >=(

I think time delays in technology were present in the seventies.

I don't really care that much, I mean, I still get to see it and everything, but it's totally false advertising. I don't like it when large corporations blatantly lie to our faces.

It's live alright. The "live" part being merely the commentators doing commentary as they observe the prerecorded event.

Trickytrickytrickytricky.

I'm so glad I don't have cable at the moment. And even when I did, it's seriously been at LEAST 15 years since I watched an NBC station.

No joke.
