Heh, lame name I know... still I've been greatly inspired by the recent flood of parts I've gotten... I've been able to redesign almost all of the Mistika/Phantoka Nuva... and I think I've been able to give them quite an improvement.

ToM's Project Nuva has been a huge inspiration for me as well. While, I definitely tried to use some of his ideas, I also Tried to be original--not just copies of his. The end result is something I'm incredible satisfied with. So, with no further Adieu, I present to you the first in my Nuva Tek series: Toa Lewa Nuva.

(When Public)

Parts: 53 (including Zamar Spheres)

Time: Maybe an Hour

Comments: Well, basically I tried to go with the ideas of the plot--the Nuva get upgraded due to their adaptive armor. I am fine with that concept, but the Lewa of this year's set line was... well, a bit laking a resemblance. The thing I disliked the most was the Kanohi. I liked the new mask as a mask, but as the Miru Nuva--it just doesn't work. It's supposed to be the same mask with the same exact powers, and the same exact strength (Minus the field that allows others to use it, of course). If Lewa is supposed to still have his Miru Nuva, then he needs to have a Miru Nuva. I chose the Silver Miru because It matches the rest of the silver that is on him, and an armor covered mask is better than a totally reforged one.

Next to get upgraded were his limbs. I used some left over silver limbs from some of the Toa Mistika and the lime metru limbs from one of my 3 Nocturns (Hey, they were on clearance for $1.99--who could turn that down!) Anyway, I changed his dark gray to silver and his lime chestplate to silver to match his old armory self.

In the process of switching things around, I remembered ToM's wings that he made for Kopaka. I liked the idea so, I decided to try them out on Lewa. I took off his jets and snapped together his wings and snapped them on his back and there he was: Lewa Nuva.

I finished up a few details (tucking the blaster under his arm and making sure Tanma could connect on) and then he was all finished up.

To me he's very nice. He keeps all his points of articulation and the wings add a few (for a total of 17). He still keeps his blaster and I gave him another sword so he can have duel katanas just like in the good ol' days. So yeah, All the original set's functions were fully preserved. I wish there were parts in normal Green (specifically his back, hips and the gray on his wings) so it could have been just like the old Lewa Nuva, but still, I've very happy with the result.

Lewa has gone through quite a few changes during the time we've known him. and I think my MOC here fits as a logical next step for Lewa Nuva.

Tell me What you think of my latest MOC and the whole Nuva Tek Project! Thanks!

Interesting. ^_^

His lanky proportions leave some to be desired, and I would like to see some more Nuva-ish armor, but since this is designed to emulate the style of a post-2006 set (i.e.: one that Lego would actually release), it serves its purpose well. The silver Miru Nuva ties everything together very nicely. I'm not sure the avian wings fit Lewa perfectly, but they're certainly better than the actual set. G'job. =D
