I'm actually kind of glad that I was a runner-up in the comedies contest instead of second or third, since I already had the second and third prizes and didn't really want two copies of them. I suppose I could have done better if I had actually put more planning into it and not just written the thing in five minutes like I always do with writing, but I never seem able to do that.

 

But congratulations to the winners, though. The only one of those that I read was Gerlicky's, and that's just because he's my friend. Actually I don't think that was my whole reasoning since I had other friends enter, so I suppose the real reason was because I didn't have a reason.

Just keep on practicing. Just because you didn't win doesn't make you a bad writer at all. I prefer to use contests as ways to improve, rather than thinking about winning. It's always better that way.

Have I mentioned how relieved I am that most of the judging is over? XD;;; Ugh.
