The Red Pyramid

Inferna Firesword

I literally just picked this up this afternoon (my brother got it the other day and loaned it me, since I expressed interest), and I'm only a few dozen pages until I finish it. Rick Riordan is one awesome writer.

That being said, it hasn't motivated me to take The Lightning Thief off my bookshelf yet, but I have a feeling it won't be long until I do. That being said, I doubt it'll be as interesting as The Red Pyramid, because of the differences -- I think becoming the host of an Egyptian god is much more interesting than being the half-mortal child of a Greek god. :P

(BTW, for you Percy Jackson fans, there is a reference to the series in there -- one of the characters in the book looks towards the Empire State building and mentioned "other gods". I don't know much about the series, but seriously -- I didn't even need to check Wikipedia.)

Either way, it's given me a very healthy respect for Bast (and for my cat -- her real name is Bastet, which is just a variation of Bast) and the author. I can't wait until the sequel comes out. =D

The Percy Jackson series is actually one of the best I've ever read. You should take The Lightning Thief off your shelf now. :P

I've been meaning to check out The Kane Chronicles ever since I read Percy Jackson. Glad to hear it's good.

-TNTOS-

It is good. Glad to have been of service.

Wait, hosts of the Gods? Egyptian Gods to boot?

I smell a ripoff of SG-1, only with less guns and more actual Gods.

Well, unless a supposedly-friendly group is trying to kill such hosts in SG-1 (forgive my ignorance), I'm not so sure. Besides, the gods in The Kane Chronicles have hilariously-awesome personalities (Bast, for example, has a battle cry that translates from French as "Eat muffins!" -- just read the book; it'll make more sense there).

That reminds me: I have a prediction about what pantheon of gods Mr. Riordan gonna go for next. I'm saying it now; I think he's gonna gun for the Norse gods.

Red Pyramid is awesome. Inferna, you are correct about the reference. I spotted that too. (I read Percy Jackson.)

You really should read The Lightning Thief.

Bast is awesome! Mange des Muffins! (I believe I got that right. I don't have the book at hand.)

You have to read the first four books in the Percy Jackson series to get to The Last Olympian, which is one of my favourite books evarr.

This might motivate you...

Once you finish the first five books; there's a new series called 'The Heroes of Olympus'. The first one is called 'The Lost Hero'... And also focuses on the Roman Gods.

However, it's a walking spoiler for The Last Olympian, soooo... =P

But yes, The Red Pyramid is an awesome book. ^_^ Wonder what the next one will be called...?

I've seen the The Heroes of Olympus already, but I'm still not very interested. :P
