You can't beat LOST. People should just know this. ><

I hope The Event will be my second favourite show. Favourite cuz LOST already takes the cake.

I watched the first episode. Things aren't looking good. There's absolutely no direction or premise, and the end just lost all coherence it could have had. It's also targeted towards those people with short attention spans, like most shows are these days. LOST worked well in that it took its time; perhaps too much time sometimes, but I hate the choppy, flashy, ADD editing of most TV shows these days, and this one had it in spades.

 

That and it's also blatantly NBC trying to score their own cultural phenomenon like LOST, so I don't see why we should be supporting that >>.

Well I dunno about you, but I dig thriller shows, and LOST was simply the poster boy for the genre. Yes, it can't be beat, but The Event also fits in the same category of mystery scientific thrillers which is all I need to like it.

No, that would be ABC's own FlashFoward, which was at least viewed more positively before the plot went down the tubes. I can't really blame them or any other station for trying to replicate LOST's success, but I can blame them for doing it extremely poorly. Oh well, at least they tried.
