  1. Guys, go join the new Starscape game. Travel the galaxy, seek out new life and new civilizations, then kill them! Er-and play with a ton of awesome people, too.

  2. Username: Javert Name: Drekian Description: Drekians are warm-blooded bipedal sapient reptiles with thick scaled skin, a set of three horns positioned at the end of the snout and on both sides of the forehead, and similar horns growing along their spine and down their tail. They also tend on the whole to be extremely muscular, although that has as much to do with cultural and environmental factors as physiological ones. Joutoma, their home planet, has a larger axial tilt then most other terrestrial worlds, leading to freezing winters and searing anywhere besides the equator, the landscape transforming from deserts and savannas or rainforests to tundra and taiga within the same year. Proximity to the sun partially melts the poles during their respective warm seasons, causing the winters to be much dryer the then the summers, triggering massive migrations by the planet’s large herd animals to stay on the hemisphere with enough readily obtainable water to sustain then. The plain predators that do not follow them, like many Dreki cultures, have developed a diverse variety of survival method to stay alive during the colder, hungrier seasons, such as retreating to the forests or coasts, places where moisture, and prey, are more abundant. Advanced cultures have generally settles near rivers or dug channels inland, and in the Space Era the Drekians have mined various asteroids and comets for ice to increase farming’s practicality on the vast plain regions, but these anomalies has only had minor effect on the overall picture. The interior of the continent is an unforgiving place, and many that live there like it that way, thank you. Due to the hostility of their homeworld, Dreki culture tends towards the warlike, but they also have many skilled engineers, writers, scientists, and everything else advanced civilizations inevitably contain. Interpersonal interaction is dominated by a complex system of rituals and tradition (Handshakes, specific phrases, roars, dances, et cetera.) that are fairly universal, though obviously have many minor variations across different cultures. Society, particle that of the dominant Imperial culture, is based around the concept of fealty and loyalty to one’s liege or group. While it’s possible to divide Drekies by social class, they are not set in stone, as a successful military career can catapult a commoner to nobility and an alliance turned sour can reduce a noble to poverty. Hunting and gathering remains the main food source for a large section of the population, but farming is a major subsistence producer around the mild equator and other fertile regions. Most of their homeworld is ruled by a single “empire”, really a confederation of various nation states and tribes united by treaty and conquest dominated by a single super state known simply as the Dominion. Governed by parliament with mix of democratically elected officials and members of the aristocracy overseen by a hereditary monarch as it’s’ central government, and member states that range from traditional tribal groups to democracies and everything in between, the planet’s political situation can be described as eclectic at best and more realistically as a pile of logs in search of matches, even if the Emperors have done their best to scatter the fuel and have stood ready to douse any flames if they appear. History: Drekians, in one form or another, first appeared on Joutoma’s surface millions of years ago, living simple (And extraordinarily dull, from a grand historical view.) lives as hunter gathers, wondering the planet barely eking out an existence among the other animals that provided them with a food source or hunting them as their own sustenance. Things begin to look a little less boring around ten thousand years ago, when agriculture really caught on after first appearing near the equator and soon spreading to the north and the south. This rarely replaced hunting entirely as a primary (metaphorical) breadwinner, but it does allow civilization to form, and that at least means records of what has past beyond mangles tales passed from one club wielding hooligan to another. The Drekians were no stranger to war before anyone had permanent claims on land that could be fought over, of course, but the growth of civilization meant that they could carry it out on increasingly massive scales. From metalworking to the wheel to gunpowder, Dreki kind is extremely skilled at inventing better ways of killing each other, all the while making life better as ending it becomes easier. The fact that you can divide Joutoma's nations into a handful of hyper-advanced societies and the remnants of countries literally bomber back to the stone age shouldn't come as a surprise, then. The previous century was perhaps the epitome of bloodthirsty Drekian nature. Shattered by constant wars fought by more nations you could count, peace could only be brought to Joutoma with the reformation of an ancient empire that had claimed the rule the entire world, which was only slightly less true then the claim that their egos were larger then there domain could ever be. Paradoxically, peace was only brought on by even more bloodshed, as the Dominion’s first ruler, Emperor Aral the Great, set out with a campaign of conquest where the enemy armies were circumvented entirely and only their leaders lost their lives. Once anyone that could have posed a threat to them was eliminated, the Dominion’s ended their assignations spree and set out to further their power though the even more underhand tactic of diplomacy, cemented Aral and his descendant’s power for centuries to come. Homeworld Name: Joutoma Homeworld Location: System 30, the single terrestrial planet in the system. Its' closest neighbors are an Airless Planet closer to the star, an asteroid belt further out, and two ice giants beyond that. Map Color: Orange-Brown. Advances Taken: · Predatory Physiology· Extra Limbs· Proud Warrior Race· Skip Drive· CHON Independent Environments Ships: Name: Orbital Shuttle.Description: A reusable surface to orbit craft designed to carry passengers and delicate cargo into orbit (Most cargo is shot into space using land-based railguns.).Reactor: Nuclear FusionPropulsion: Nuclear Fusion.FTL Drive: None.Armament: A single small laser and 10 small missiles both used primarily as a safeguard against dangerous debris.Defensive Systems: Steel armor cover by several layers of heat resistant tiles that often require maintenance.Detection Systems: Radar, a series of camera, and a magnetometric sensor. Cost: Free. Name: Starcarrier Description: The Starcarrier is exactly what it sounds like, a ship designed to ferry other ships into combat. Capable of waging a small war on its’ own, Starcarriers are the backbone of the future drekian fleet. Reactor: Nuclear Fusion. Propulsion: The Drive module is a massive ramjet that propels the main payload of the command module and weapon’s modules though space, the massive magnetic sails pose an easy target however, so this is usually left behind the rest of the ship during a fight. The command/living module utilizes Orion Drives, both for movement and as an extra weapon in the arsenal. FTL Drive: Jump Drive. Armament: 15 drones/fighters (Either Automated Railguns, Missile Platforms, Lasterstars, shuttles etc.) that dock with the main module and can be used either as tradition spacecraft weapons or detach and maneuver separately, 5 laser ports positioned on the tip of the rocket and the four sides of the hull, and the ship’s nuclear shaped charges that can be uses either weapons or propellant. Automated Railguns and Lasterstars use fusion engines as for both power and propulsion, while Missile Platforms use Orion drives, essentially accelerating using its’ ammunition. Laserstars and Railguns also sport massive radiators that disperse excess energy as heat, and both must wait between shot to avoid overheating. Defensive Systems: 2 layers of heavy steel armor around a small vacuum between then to divert any explosion that breaks thought the first layer. Detection Systems: Knowing the enemy’s exact location is the key to victory, so every module is equipped with a radar, magnetometric sensor and cameras to insure maximum visibility. The Command module is also equipped with a gravimetric sensor to detect any gravity fields that might affect combat or navigation. Cost: 11 Money, 11 CHON, 15 Days. Upkeep: 6 Money, 5 CHON Name: Colony wheel. Description: A giant passenger/cargo vessel designed to carry everything needed for terraforming and colonization through space. The habitation modules are six massive radial slices of a torus that can gimbal forward when the ship is under thrust to use the acceleration as gravity, and spin to provide gravity when not. The center of the wheel in uninhabited and is used to house the generator and carry cargo and fuel for the engine. Reactor: Fusion. Propulsion: Ramjet. FTL Drive: Jump. Armament: The ship carries a small complement of missiles and an anti-debris laser, but neither of those are strong enough to pose much of a threat. Defensive Systems: A bulky metal plate at the front of the ship large enough to protect the wheel from micrometeors , lead radiation shielding, and the aforementioned anti-debris weapons. Detection Systems: Cameras, Radar, Magnometric and gravimetric systems. Cost: 5 Money, 6 CHON, 15 DaysUpkeep: 4 Money, 4 CHON
  3. Yep, BZP's still alive and well, if with a much smaller community. Most of the activity is in RPG's, The Library, MOCs, and Off-Topic these days, though, considering there isn't much new developments with Bioonicle itself to discuss,.
  4. Noooo, not Beardless Riker! XD

  5. IC: Kethrye sighed. "We seem to have reached a bit of an Impasse. How about we try and compromise? Once we get the rest of the ILF back together, then we can continue this, okay? Really, that's what we should have done from the start.
  6. "There's two kinds of men in this world, those with loaded guns and those that dig. You dig."

  7. IC: Feongulf ~"So, what exactly is this all about?" I growled up at the giant. "Specifically, don't give me anymore more vague hints that could mean anything, 'kay? Waste of both of our times."
  8. It's not like Lucastarts has made a good game in years, and closing the studio really doesn't negatively impact the possibility of good Star Wars games in the future. No, the only really terrible bad about this is that all of Lucasart's classic properties from back in the days before they existed basically to hire other companies to make actually good Star Wars games are now likely to be buried even deeper then they already were aside from Telltale's stuff. Which is a sad, sad thing.
  9. IC: Feongulf ~ I step over alongside the brutish Ba-Toa and look up him, motioning for him to let the blue-armored being off the hook. We had more important things to devote time to, apparently.
  10. So "'this game movie will blow you away' - IGN.com"? /SemiobscureReference.png
  11. IC: "No, voting for myself would be completed BS, I was talking about the Toa of Fire stadig beside and waving a sharp hunk of metal in your general direction," Kethrye replied calmly, "Someone that doesn't sound like an abstention to me."
  12. IC: Esao's an alright guy, but Genno's right, he's not one of us, and between this mess and the espionage thing his motives are suspect. Someone who's lurked in the shadows watching us for so long instead of offering his aid has no business trying to become our leader, even if accusations were more then a little bit correct. Kal, well, I think we can attribute him jumping aboard Easo's little mutiny to him being Kal. Even if I did lose my mind, it'd be Alfon or Vompran who'd be the rightful people to take other; trusted members of the Island Liberation Squad, not some random Toa with loose associations, a tendency to overact, and a inexplicable personal vendetta. God, if Madrihk was still around none of this would be a problem He knew what he was doing, something I'd better start to emulate if I want to keep things together. "And that makes it two to one, unless basic addition is another thing you'll accuse me of be incapable of," Kethrye said with a shrug, breaking his revelry then grinning with relieve. Okay Kethrye, here's the plan. 1. Get the entire ILF back together, splitting the party was the worst mistake I've ever made. 2. See if the others have had better luck then we've had. 3. Use that information to work out an actual plan. "Thanks for the support," Kethrye muttered to Alfon and Peho Eniblad, nodding. His hand held the grip of his sword a little lighter, but not that much lighter as he turned to address Easo and Kal. He sincerely hope he wouldn't be force to draw it, especially against people he still counted as friends, but with their luck they'd probably opt for the course of maximum chaos. "So, would we please get on with our business now?
  13. IC: Feongulf - Karzahni, is that an employment over? Yeah, it is. I didn't know whether to be exhilarated or terrified. "What exactly do you have in mind?"
  14. IC: Feongulf - "What do you want?" I said, beginning to back away at the sight of the infected Kanohi latched to the brute's face just like the Parakuku was latched to my spine, only my thought more mostly still my own. At least that's what I told myself as images of how I could eliminate the being in front of me before he knew what hit flashed though my mind and the thing on my back hissed All my old employers seemed to be popping up lately, usually to kill me. At least if Ferrin rose from the grave with a thirst for revenge I couldn't be the first on his list. I twisted my face into a cowering wince that seemed appropriate for the minion of the Makuta. "Look, I'm sorry for deserting the group at the great temple, if that's what you're here about, but I had personal business to sort out. . .and our master does although his servant that much freedom, right?" I sniveled. I'd always been a con as much as a thief, why steal when you can convince people to just give you what you want? "I-I don't any trouble."
  15. ^^That still says more about modern television than anything else. But yeah, I'm not saying what's happening in Kini isn't interesting, I'm saying the things that would happen if it were finished are more interesting. EDIT: And I learned a while back you can say a character's been watching someone for weeks without any of it happening in game.
  16. That didn't fill the entire topic up for months, though. It was spread out due to long stretches were none one was posting . Yeah, seeing as the people I was waiting don't seem like they're going to post at all.
  17. You hope that you'll be able to draw a series of actions that should have taken one page out into twenty?
  18. IC: Feongulf - As I walk the sound of an armored foot sounded behind me, the clang reverberating through the cavern. Clangclangclangclangclangclangcla. . . I stop, pivoting on one foot to allow my head a look at whatever- whoever -it was following me this time. Stalker-riffic day today, isn't it. I thought, masking my inner turmoil from myself with a wall of snark, as usual. Running from my problems would be my middle name if I had more then one. "Um- hey," I said in greeting, pulling the sides of my mouth upward in a motion that mimicked a smile as I threw my gaze around to pinpoint escape routes. Wasn't trusting my luck, not today. "Why exactly are you following me?"
  19. After finally getting into the fourth season of Deep Space Nine I'd just like to say it's the best Trek show ever. That is all.
  20. OOC: Trying my hand at writing in 1st person, FOR SCIENCE! Oh, yeah, open for interaction, too. IC: Pretty much catatonic, I dragged myself. or what's left of me, through the tunnels to Onu-Koro, trying to avoid thinking about what had just happened behind me as I stumped though barely broken darkness. It did't work, and blinked to dislodge the tears. Come on and get a hold of yourself, I though, cursing softly. As if anyone would hear.
  21. IC: "Truth be told, you're actually kind of useless, Kethrye." "Says the man you just seems to follow us around and only opens his mouth to wisecrack," Kethryse said calmly, rolling his eyes towards heaven. "But, yes, me, or Esao, let's get this over with, instead off wasting our time even further."
  22. IC: "And you say I'm the crazy one?" Kethrye replied, a hand straying to the hilt of his as to Kal brandishing his Rahkshi staff and spouted wisecracks. Yep, "suddenly mutiny" more or less sums it up. "Sounds to me like you're the one letting his emotions get the better of him. If you go among mad people long enough sometime you go mad yourself. The world's a crazy place, for good and ill, and people either except that or they're consumed. Maybe that's what happened to be, but even if you're right it'll only be replacing one maniac for another." Kethrye frowned. "Besides, when have we ever needed rationality? trying to fight the Makuta's influence wasn't rational, and neither was assaulting the Nui-Rama hive. Madrihk, who I'm trying to fill even a fraction the boots of as best I can, wasn't rational; smart, sure, but he recruited an army of would-be-heroes and madmen ad expected them to bring down the Master of Shadows himself, which mean he may have been the craziest of us all." How'd he know about all that anyhow, he wasn't around until after the Rama battle at least? Stalking a people for weeks before making contact doesn't seem his style. He paused a moment, then sighed, doing his best to ignore whatether antics Kal was getting them into. "But, if you really wish to carry this on, go ahead, anyone that wishes to follow Esao here can do so, and if everyone agrees he should be leader then I'll accept that. See, Esao, if you want to replace me, that's how you do it. By getting the rest of the team to agree with you, not just announcing it out of nowhere."
  23. OOC: ITT: Kal is hilarious as heck. IC: "I think it's permissible in this case, Kal," Kethrye said, chuckling. "It'd be a mercy." He nodded at the Toa of Lightning. "So, name's Ril? Any relation to Aronis Ril? He's a friend of ours."
