  1. The title has a story point, although it will take a while to make sense. Also, it is in Spanish because it sounds better that "starting again" or "start over" and because Spanish is my first language. Chapter 2 is up now, I hope you and anyone who reads it like it.
  2. Toa of Air Lewa closed her eyes and relaxed. Despite being in the middle of a battle, she needed calm to sense any changes in the air. Soon enough, a blue scorpion that looked like a skull with legs launched towards her. She blocked him somewhat easily, but it felt like it was becoming stronger every time… or she was getting weaker? Unwilling to think about it in the middle of a fight, and with her only desire being getting that Golden Mask, she flew directly to the shiny object that radiated power. However, she was too distracted to notice that the scorpion had climbed up a tree and ambushed her just as she was touching the mask. It lunged to her head, trying to take off the mask she was already wearing and it would have succeeded if it wasn’t for a black and purple figure with claws that threw the scorpion away: “Thanks” said the Toa of Air “I don’t know you… but thanks. Look, see that shiny mask over there? I want it, but that crazy skull with legs won’t let me take it”. Onua just nodded and slammed his claws together. The blue scorpion came back and looked to the two Toa. It looked like it had some doubts, but it quickly prepared for battle: “Ok, you distract it and I’ll get the mask” Lewa whispered. Their plan would have worked, but the green scorpion that the Toa of Earth fought in the evening returned and ambushed Lewa. The Toa of Air retreated "More of those things" muttered Lewa "Why do they want the masks?" "Evil" said Onua grimly "Well, then I won't feel bad when we beat them" said the green Toa. The two tried to attack at the same time, but they weren't synchronized and they ended up getting in the way of each other. As they became more tired, the scorpions changed their strategy: They grabbed the Golden Mask and fled. Without enough energy to chase them, the Toa sat down "What a strange day" said Lewa and lay down. She looked to the black Toa. She could barely make out his silhouette in the dark, but she still felt safe by his side: "I know we didn't beat them, but... Thanks for saving me" said with a smile. Onua didn't answer, still, Lewa imagined him smiling: "You have a name, big guy?" "Onua" said the Toa of Earth, unsure of how to speak to her new companion "I'm Lewa" said the green Toa. She put her hand on his broad shoulder "Maybe today we lost the mask, but I gained a friend. I will stay with you Onua" She hugged him "And maybe then we will have a good team strategy" she joked. Onua laughed deeply and stood up: "I found some ruins" he said "We need to sleep" "Ok, but try to find a place with a roof" she said. They climbed slowly, still hurt from the fight, but once they reached the road it became much easier. "Fancy place" said Lewa seeing the ruins "A small garden, some curtains and it will feel like home" She jumped high in the air, looking at the full size of the site. She felt her body give away and she plummeted from the sky, but luckily Onua cached her: "It's big, nearly all of the mountain top. Feel like exploring tomorrow?" She yawned and fell asleep. "Such a curious person" thought Onua. He looked around the ruins for a while. The darkness didn't affect his sight. He soon found a small room that seemed to once have been some guard’s quarters. He placed Lewa on the only rock bed bunk, sat beside her and doze off.
  3. The review topic for "Volver a comenzar", my take on the G2 story, although the connection rarely goes beyond character names. I hope you like it.
  4. Volver a comenzar Toa of Earth Onua woke up in a dich without any recollection of how he got there. The Toa got up and picked up his hammer. Despite its size it felt light in his right hand. Somewhat surprised he wasn’t hurt he started walking towards a golden glimmer in the distance. The sunset’s light reflected on his black armor, not so much in his golden one. Looking around Onua realized he had landed on the side of a mountain. He was walking on a well-crafted road, although the right side abruptly ended in a steep fall. Looking up and to the left revealed the ruins of a once formidable fortress. He made a mental note to explore them once he figured out what was that glimmer that almost seem to be calling him. Reaching his destination, he found the source of the attraction: A golden mask with the same shape as the one he was wearing lay on the ground; Looking closely revealed that the soil in contact with it shifted ever so slightly. Intrigued, Onua leaned to pick up the mask, but a yellowish green flash landed on his face, knocking him on his back and popping his Mask of Earth off his face. Overtaken by the strange creature, he received a terrifying vision of himself and other eleven figures being consumed by spiders and scorpions whose bodies resembled a skull. However, he was faced by a gigantic, jet black arachnoid that lunged onto him and crushed him with brute strength rendering him unconscious. He woke up again in the middle of the night. His body was covered in bruises and he felt weak, for he was mask-less. Luckily for Onua, his Mask of Earth lay next to him. He put it on, and while the pain still remained, he now was able to stand up. Discovering that the night had no adverse effect on his vision, he read some words written on the earth: ‘Skull Spiders’ and ‘Our Lord’. There was no sign of the Golden Mask. Managing to connect the names with the creatures from his vision and the ones who attacked him, he wondered why they would need a mask. Feeling uneasy about the whole situation, he decided to find some place to think and sleep. Just as he made his way to the ruins on top of the mountain, he heard a female scream tearing the night. Unaware that he was taking his first step towards becoming a hero, Onua split his hammer into the Turbo Shovels and began digging downhill.
  5. I'm not sure about the other species, but most Matoran rarely left their Koro/Metru, so knowledge about other islands might be nearly non-existent. Also, most of the Southern islands (the legs of Mata Nui) were unexplored. But let's try to tackle the most misterious one by one: Daxia: When the Hand of Arthaka/Order of Mata Nui made it their base, is logical to asume that they erased any record of it's existence. If a shipwreck of some lost navigator wound up on the island, they most likely left them to be killed by the local Rahi and the harsh climate. Kahrzanni: While it was pretty well known during the early days of the universe, it's location became lost after the Turaga stopped sending Matoran there. Organizations like the Order of Mata Nui and Brotherhood of Makuta might have been aware of it's location, but never did anything there, probably because the ruler wasn't an open threat to them. Odina: Before the Dark Hunters came there, it was a deserted island; it's geography offered nothing to potential colonists. As you noted, the DH make sure no one knows where the island is (although the OoMN knew about it). Its likely that the Shadowed One sent someone to destroy the few maps that show the island. Destral: While the BoM was pretty infamous, is important to remember that the island had a teleportation mechanism, so no one except the Brotherhood would know of it's location. It's higly unlikely that they kept a record of the places where the island was, unless they had recurring places to teleport. Tren Krom's Island: Although it was visited later, we have to remember that very few people knew how to get there: Mutran, the first visitor that we know of, had to track the location down by an extensive search. Brutaka and his party ended up there by mistake. Arthaka knew the location, mainly because he has an extensive knowledge of the universe.
  6. I couldn't stop laughing about Onua hitting the liver... do soppky skeletons have livers?
  7. As unlikely as it is, I hope Greg finishes the G1 story, doesn't really matter when or where, I just hope it's a better conclusion than the dissapointent that was 2010.
  8. I think it's way more interesting to see it this way: In G2, humans are a creation of the Bionicle. Now, hear me out. Just because there is a representation of a human head, it doesn't mean humans don't exist, instead they are more o an idea. Take for example Quetzalcoatl, the feathered snake. Obiously the animal doesn't exist in real life, but the idea of it does exist. Basically, humans in G2 are a work of fiction, or a long forgotten cultural symbol. Of course, it's just an hypothesis, but an interesting one at that.
  9. I honestly can't see G2 Makuta as a villan. But to be honest, it's kind of hard to make something new with his unwilling-villan character trope (unless they decide to never bring him up again, which I doubt). At least I hope they give him an interesting personallity like G1 Teridax.
  10. This guy knows that I'm talking about, but I'll say that lately I've been buying sets and some have arrived via MexPost and I had no trouble at all. Where did you get that release date? I saw it on ImperioToa, apparently it came back, but I can't find the link, sorry. I also get some sets via MexPost, but the mailman seems to like dropping them five squares away from my house, just because the numbers on the houses repeat a lot... probably it just happens to me, though XD.
  11. I heard on the grapevine that Bionicle would be arriving to Mexico on January 25th. Not sure if that's true, though. I really hope it is, because it would be just in time fo my birthday. As a side note, I really can't beleive they missed the chance for a Día de Reyes sale... guess they wanted to get rid of those Star Wars, Lego Movie, and Chima sets. Also, about importing them, taxes and shipping expenses kinda doubles the price on each less-than-15-dollars set, mostly because you'll need to pay for DHL or something similar, since our postal service really sucks
  12. I just have a few: 1.- The Red Star doesn't revive desceased beings:. This has always bothered me, especially reviving Botar but not Sidorak (I mean, seriusly, Botar gets crushed Gahlok-Kal-style and is revived, but Sid only gets crushed in the head and remains dead? Come on) More importantly, it kills all drama out of significant characters deads *coughLihikancough* 2.- Vahki have genders and each type is gender-mixed, but their dedication to their jobs made it unnoticeable. 3.- Matau joined Roodaka instead of Vakama. 4.- Carapar lives. He will always live. 5.- The trapped GB didin't deactivate Vezon's power. Vezon still has it but has forgoten how to use it. 6.- The Bahrag created more Bohrok-Kal, but due to a malfunction only six awoke. 7.- Gender-mixed tribes. Not 50/50, it varies between tribes. 8.- Roodaka became and is the ruler of Xia. 9.- Plasma and Psiconics aren't elemental. Toa in the story with this power gain it via Kanohi or mutation. 10.- Velika is not a Great Being.
  13. I liked the canonization before and I still like it now. I really don't mind having small details about the past clarified, since pretty much all of the things that need most clarifing are very unlikely to be disclosed by TLG. Thing is, it'll probably slow down to a crawl once we are all distracted by gen 2, so might as well let it thrive on it's few weeks left of glory.
  14. To be honest, I don't care. Maybe they didn't use them because the other powers they had were more interesting. Also, Skakdi being kind of violent and selfish made them unable to cooperato no most situations, so it really didn'r bug me that they rarely used their elemental powers.
  15. Sorry to interrupt the sci-fi discusion, but I have a question: What exactly killed Jaller in MOL? Was it actually fear?
  16. It's never late, Bionicle recieves anyone who will have it with open arms. That said, I'm trying to teach my girlfriend all of Bionicle. Right now we've just finished the 2006 storyline. I use the comics as a general plot thread (I don't have any of the books, so I can't show them to her and I have to narrate parts that help understand the comics better, like Jaller's and co. trip to Karzahni). I've shown her some of the web videos and the movies but we've haven't been able to play many games.
  17. Problem with the theory is that Makuta couldn't control the Ultimate Power mask. So the Lord of Spiders controlling it while being a servant of Makuta is kind of ilogical.
  18. To be honest, I wouldn't like to see mask packs the way they were released before. Instead I would gladly pay $10 for a pack that had all of the mask molds in one color, including a golden, silver and translucent one. Or one pack with a single mold in all colors. That randomized model they use is pretty succesfull bussiness.wise, but I picture a lot of kids ending up with a bunch of same color extras in their epic quest for a gold or translucent version.
  19. I'd love to see a TV show with the CG animation they used in the old commercials and written by a team led by Greg. That would be awesome.
  20. I sometimes bring it up when talking to my friends about fandoms, though none of them knew about it and don't shpw much interest. On the other hand, I'm introducing my girlfriend to Bionicle and she quite likes it. Also I guess it will be very public when I ask my parents to buy me one of the new sets for Christmas XD
  21. First of all, omiting the most obvious answer in this topic is like asking if you would prefer to be lava-bones or Makuta-bones. Bionicle is for everyone that likes it, regardless of distincion. Alienating a part of the fandom based on age is downright ridiculous: Bionicle exists and came back because of us, now late teenagers or adults that sticked with it even after it's cancellation. But there is no chance for the franchise to grow withouth newer fans, who I hope they are able to enjoy both the old and new series.
  22. Both, really. Together they are Bionicle. If only the sets were good, it would be like "Oh those cool looking robots, whatever they're called". If only the story was good, sales would plummet. If both were bad, well, so much for a reboot... But seriously, Bionicle was the first Lego line that had a rich, original story. It wasn't until it became such a spectacle creep that it fell to it's doom. I hope the new gen can learn from the mistakes of it's predecesor.
  23. For me is a tie between the Nuva, Mahri and "Toa" Ignika. The Nuva's destiny was to awaken Mata Nui and so they had to preparethe universe for therobot's awakening, but it was with the actions of the Mahri and Matoro's sacrifice that the Great Spirit's life was restored when he died. Ignika's part was also important, because he sacrificed his newfound existence in order to fully awaken Mata Nui, sparring the Nuva and Takanuva a battle they'd most likely loose. However, the most crucial player was Teridax, for he controlled all of the events leading to the awakening and stole the universe for himself.
  24. I wouldn't go that far. It does seem to make the most sense, but I think some other issues that have been discussed and not really resolved crystal clearly with Greg would need pinned down. For example, when Lhikan put some of his Toa Energy into the Toa Stones, did it stop being relevant to his power usage from then on? Was there some kind of remote access to it? If he could be made to have less (or have access to less) Toa Energy, would his elemental powers be weaker? If there's no remote access (though that's been theorized), then maybe the amount of TE you have at the moment doesn't matter to how powerful your elemental powers are. Maybe that only matter when you're transformed into a Toa. (I have no idea, though. Just bringing it up for discussion's sake. ) Because it didn't seem like Toa Lhikan got any weaker, so far as the story showed or we were told, after that point. Of course, he also probably only put a small amount in... but we don't really know details (a recent Greg answer seemed to cast confusion on these points... so yeah... point is, not sure it's wise to be making assumptions like that). I don't think the Toa stones made by the Nuva would be any different than any other Toa stone. For me, the only way those new Toa could become Nuva would be if the happen to fall in a vat of energized protodermis the very moment they are transformed XD. Also, regarding the correlation between elemental power and Toa power: It would seem it has an impact, because Tuyet managed to become a very powerful Toa by stealing Toa energy via the Nui stone. However, from what I've read on BS01, the Nui stone does not steal energy from destined Matoran. Not sure if the Nui stones would rob energy from existing Toa stones, though.
  25. Breaking my tradition of getting the green sets first, I'm going to buy Onua. The way they designed him and made him a sleepy wise man reminds me so much of myself XD. Also, Lewa seems kind of odd, like he doesn't have enough green. The others I will get depending of my mood the day I buy them, but I don't think I'll get Lord of the Skull Spiders, unless I have a lot of spare money.
