Descending into Protodermis

Descending into Protodermis (127/293)

  1. Part 1: The Meeting Slate walked into a room with six other Toa already in it. Slate was a Toa of Sonics. He was six feet tall and heavily muscled. He wore heavy protosteel armor. He had yellow eyes and a black heartlight. He carried a scythe as his weapon. Unlike most other inhabitants of his world he was mostly flesh and very little of his body was mechanical. Many years had passed since the tournament and the strange monsters. In that time he had destroyed his mask of intangibility and reforged his original mask of telepathy. He sat down at the large table and looked around. On the one side of the table sat Illume a Toa of Light, Noir the Umbrakinetic Toa and Kane a mentally damaged Toa of Sonics. He had once trained Kane as an apprentice. He had even turned Kane into a Toa. On the other side of the table sat Bellum a Toa of Water and Astral a super soldier Toa with powers similar to a ghost. And sitting by the window was Toxin. He was a Toa of Poison Gas and apparently he was the only one that existed. He was also a Dark Hunter or at least he used to be. No one could really tell with this Toa, he was so different. Toxin wore a lime green and white suit of armor that was heavily damaged. His mask allowed him the power of camouflage, very useful for a hunter. He had grey eyes with a red heartlight. The armor on his hands had fallen off and the flesh on his hands was burnt and scarred. He used to carry a machete but that had been destroyed in battle. It was remarkable at he could even stand after all the damage his body has sustained and yet he could still out perform most other Toa. Two more beings walked into the room, the brothers Sol and Marx. They called themselves Solar Avatars but they looked much like Toa. Only they were slightly taller and had large birdlike wings that allowed them to fly. Sol wore gold, silver and white armor and had blue eyes. His wings were covered in silver, metallic feathers. He carried a katana. Marx had lustrous armor that was a mix of purple and black and he had red eyes. His wings were covered in black, metallic feathers. And his weapon was an obsidian long sword. Sol had power over light. Marx controlled gravity and shadows. Sol had immense endurance and Marx was extremely strong. Both brothers had numerous other powers. After greeting each other the beings started their meeting. “We called you here to ask for help. Our traveling thru space-time has woke up a creature. We can’t let it get out of interdimensional space. Our scans and simulations show that if this monster can reach a star it can absorb it and grow far too powerful. It wouldn’t be that such of a problem if it were not so violent and hostile.” Spoke Sol. “We have met each other in the past. I know together you seven will be able to bring down this creature.” Said Marx. Hours passed as they spoke and argued. But eventually they formed a plan. Part 2: Hatred As the seven Toa went into interdimensional space the two brothers stood guard of the portals from their home dimension. Bellum and Astral ended up on large chunk of land that floated in the space between worlds. They never noticed the presence of another being. But that being noticed them. It had only hate in its heart so it spread this to the two Toa. And then it watched them fight. Astral howled in rage and Bellum launched fire at him. He turned intangible and leapt at her. He became tangible as his fist slammed against her mask. She fell down. Astral’s head was surrounded in a sphere of water and he struggled as the land under his feet turned to mud and started to swallow him. He again became intangible and escaped. Only to be covered in flame. Astral had one power he never wanted to use but he was so mad, he didn’t want to die. And so he used it. His body glowed and Bellum screamed in pain as her life force was torn from her body. She let out one last scream as fire erupted from her body. When it was over Bellum was dead, reduced to ash and Astral lay dying, questioning why this happen? Why did he kill his friend? The creature appeared in front of him and drank up what was left of Bellum’s form and her powers. Now corporeal the creature ate Astral. Part 3: Neutralized Illume, Noir and Kane stood on a strange bit of land with ruins on it that floated in the space between worlds. They were lost and hoped to find something of use here. The creature flew down and hid out of sight. It watched and then again spread its rage. Almost instantly Illume and Noir started to argue. “I know what you are thinking! Noir you stupid, pathetic fool why do you even bother with the shadows. They are evil and bad and not to be used. Well you wouldn’t know.” screamed Noir. “cool dude! I don’t care.” yelled Illume. “No wait I do. You are a monster. Just like the Makuta. You turn to the dark to hide from yourselves, to hide from the truth. But you can’t anymore. The light will cleanse your sins.” Illume shot lasers from his hands. Noir swiftly dodged them. “The light is weak. The dark is everywhere. Even in you Toa of Light.” replied Noir. A giant fist of darkness lifted Illume into the air. Illume shot lasers from his eyes and Noir lost concentration and the hand of darkness vanished. They kept shouting at each other. They kept using bigger and bigger elemental attacks. And the ruins they stood on got more and more damaged. Oddly enough Kane’s mind was far too damaged to be affected by the creature’s power. Even he saw the foolishness in fighting. He ran out between the two other Toa. He started to say something but was cut down but alternating blasts of light and shadow. The other two didn’t even notice Kane die. They kept fighting. After a while they both were exhausted but still full of anger. Each released one last giant blast of their element. This time the attacks hit. Light banished shadow and shadow vanquished light. The creature walked out from its hiding place. It drained what energies it could from the three corpses, turning them to dust. And then it flew off. Part 4: Hunter Somehow Toxin ended up on a forested place in this strange place. He pursued various monsters, hunting them out of habit. He could only detect one last beast. It seemed to be a large cat like creature and from its appearance it seemed to be part machine. He leapt out of the tree and landed in front of the beast. With one fluid movement he killed it. His mind so lost in the hunt he didn’t notice something else. The creature grabbed Toxin by the throat and lifted him into the air. It launched a series of punches from its other three arms. Pain overwhelmed Toxin as he lost consciousness for the last time. The creature drank what was left of his energies and the corpse turned to dust. Part 5: Explosive Slate stood guard of the portal to the outside world from the inside. The fiendish creature had finally found a way to escape. It flew towards Slate. Slate couldn’t looked directly at the fiend it was just too terrible. Using telepathy Slate read the fiend’s thoughts and saw what it had done. He knew it must be killed. Slate he been given a special weapon. It was powered by energy and could be fed more energy and it could also explode. He hoped it would be enough to stop the fiend. He whispered his goodbyes as he fed all his energies into the weapon and then caused it to detonate. Slate remembered all he had done in his last moment. He had no regrets. A smile appeared on the fiend’s face. Its last thoughts were. I am finally free. It was at peace. The explosion killed both Slate and the fiend. And it shook the place between worlds. Part 6: The End Sol and Marx knew what had happened. They heard through the communicators. Their friends had died. And they knew the monster was no more. They mourned the lost and thought of the past and of the future before returning their thoughts to the present. Much had happened in their travels. They met so many other beings, visited countless other worlds and did things they hadn’t ever dreamed of. But now time was up. They looked up into the sky at the twin suns as everything started to vanish including them. It was over. Like a bubble being popped by a pin the story had ended. This world was no more than a memory. Author's Note: This is a final story for my last text based RPG characters. It has been on my mind a lot and I need to let go. I'm not the best at making stories but this story needed to be finished. I need to let go.
  2. Nightmare: Escape from the Land of Dreams Aequivaleo, the Toa Kaita, leapt around dodging the various pieces of ice. But he was not fast enough and a large spike of ice pierced him through the chest. He collapsed on the ground and screamed in pain. His body started to glow and the light increased in intensity and then exploded outward in a silent explosion. When the light faded three Toa lied on the ground where Aequivaleo had once been. Aequivaleo was dead but the three Toa that had fused to become him were okay. They would never again be able to fuse into the Toa Kaita known as Aequivaleo but otherwise they not harmed. The Toa regained consciousness quickly and were back on their feet in a matter of minutes. All three Toa were about the average height for a Toa but apart from that they were different in appearance and mentality. Illume was a noble Toa of light. He had gold, silver and white armor and wore a mask of truth. He had blue eyes and his mask was forged into a helmet. He carried a sword and shield and knew how to use them. He was a brilliant warrior and natural leader. Noir was an umbrakinetic Toa. He controlled the shadows with his mind and his powers were not limited by elemental energy but by willpower and creativity. Long ago he was a Le-Matoran but he had since severed his ties to his old element and fully embraced the darkness but not in the shallow way the Makuta did or at least his studies led him to believe this. He wore black and silver armor and had red eyes. He wore a mask called the mask of freezing that allowed him to freeze stuff through physical contact. He was very acrobatic and his weapon of choice was a dagger. Kane was a Toa of sonics. He wore a mask of clairvoyance and was schizophrenic but he did have his moment of clarity. He carried two sickles and wore silver and grey armor and wore a heavy cloak over that. His yellow eyes always reflected his mood. The three were not the best team but in this strange land any team was better than being alone. The three Toa reentered the fray. Dodging and running about to avoid the enemies attacks. They used their various powers to try and bring done the monster they fought. Kane then got a vision from his mask. He saw the beast was defeated and he also saw a portal of some kind. Noir noticed Kane having the vision and protected him until it was over. And later asked him what it was. Kane told Noir and they went to get Illume. “If this vision is correct as his other one was then I take it the battle will be won regardless of if we are here or not.” Spoke Illume. Kane turned and pointed with a shaking finger at the battle behind them. He saw all of the creatures had vanished just as in his vision. They finally escaped the forest and were on the island’s coast overlooking the ocean. Then they saw it, a glowing portal that floated over the water only a few yards from the shore. They waded out to the portal and jumped through it… Author's Note: Sorry for posting these stories so quickly. I need to wrap up my characters from the various RPGs I used to participate in. I need to get them off my mind.
  3. Months ago a band of various species went on a voyage to see what was in the far south of the universe. They didn't expect to find what they did; no one expected the horrors they uncovered. The Southern Islands were not as barren and lifeless as others liked to believe. Many of the explorers had hoped to find wealth and glory but as of yet the only thing they found was death. From the strange flora and fauna to the seemingly toxic landscape. A band once forty in number was reduced to ten. A once majestic ship was now splinters and driftwood. They were marooned on the southernmost island in Mata Nui's right leg not that they knew that. The remaining explorers stood on the island's black sand beach and looked with curiosity and fear on the island's landscape. In the center was a great volcano that appeared to be dormant. Most the island was covered in a lush tropical forest expect for the coast that was covered in black sand. The explorers could hear the calls of various beasts that lived deeper in forest. The leader of this expedition went by the name Gadget. Originally a Ko-Matoran from Metru Nui this Matoran was a genius. Gadget wore a heavy mech suit of his own design. The other surviving crew members were of various species and backgrounds. Ark was a shapeshifter. His default form looked much like a Toa. But he was much slimmer and more streamline. Most of his body was silver and he had a soft blue glow that emanated from his eyes and any other gaps in his armor. He was a wandering hero. Astral was a Toa. He didn’t have a traditionally elemental power but he had powers that are generally associated with ghosts. He was also a product of a supersoldier program and was a brilliant warrior. He wore dark teal, grey and silver armor and a mask of night vision. At eight feet tall he was much larger than an average Toa and his body was covered in muscle from his experimental training. Bellum was a Toa of water that had once lived in Metru Nui. She was streamline blue and silver armor with flames etched into the gauntlets. She was shorter than most at five feet eight inches tall. She had powerful, orange eyes and wore a unique mask. It allowed her control of fire and when active she was surrounded by fire. Bellum was always travelling and exploring. Maelstrom was a strange insect-like humanoid and seemingly the last of his kind. He was amphibious and was capable of flight and had strength greater than most Toa. He was an explorer and a dangerous fighter. The other crew members were shadier and didn’t stand out as much. There were three Skakdi and two Vortixx. They had survived this long for whatever reason. All the Skakdi and one Vortixx were hired mercenaries and they regretted getting hired into this and the other Vortixx was an outcast hoping to get rich off this journey. The ten explorers argued about what to do. Should they turn back or stay? Would it be bad of them to turn back after so much death? Could this possibly be worth it? Eventually the decision fell to Gadget to decide. He declared they would continue south. Not everyone was happy but going back alone was not going to end well. They gathered what supplies they could salvage and carry and started into the forest. After several hours they found a clearing with a beautiful, silver pool. Gadget decided they should rest for a bit. The group settled down to rest. The mercenary Vortixx walked to the pool and sat down beside it, gazing into its silvery depths. His eyes mesmerized by silver liquid. A voice spoke to him. “You can do so much better. These fools hold you back. Kill them and take all their wealth and this island’s riches. Do it! Just drag them into the pool. I will do the rest.” The Vortixx rose to his feet. He casually walked over to others. Activating a device on his hip that boosted his natural strength he grabbed two of the Skakdi by the heads and with unnatural speed moved them to the pool. Gadget yelled, “Let them go you fool. What are you doing?” The Matoran aimed his rocker launcher even though he hoped not to fight. “NO!” He screamed the mercenary. “You are but a Matoran! I will put you back in your place!” Everyone could see the madness in his eyes as he screamed. He threw the two Skakdi at the pool as the other Skakdi and Vortixx charged him. The five beings all ended up falling into the pool. But this pool was not water and it wasn’t mercury either. It was energized protodermis. The five beings were destroyed and the next instant a new creature rose out of the pool. The beast stood ten feet tall and was humanoid in shape. It had glistening blood red skin with black symbols tattoo on its flesh. It was very muscular and had sharp fangs and claws as well as two wicked horns. Its horrible eyes glowed a demonic red. It walked out of the pool and the island shook. The five remaining explorers knew this new being was not going to be peaceful and they prepared to fight. Gadget rushed the beast launching various missiles and lasers at the same time. The beast chuckled and a black mist swirled around its outstretched hands. The island rumbled and Gadget was knocked down. An obsidian spike reached out of the ground and gored Gadget and his mech suit. The Matoran howled in pain. The beast’s eyes flashed and Gadget screamed again as his mech suit exploded around him. The others looked on in horror at the pile of dust that had once been their friend and leader. Maelstrom charged the beast and readied a punch. His fist went at the beast with all his strength but it never hit. Maelstrom was surrounded in a blood red light and launched backwards. A sickening scream of rage echoed from Maelstrom as he slammed into the ground. Bellum activated her mask and instantly she was surrounded in fire. She put both of her arms up as a wall of flame was launched at the beast. But it just held out its hand and the fire was absorbed. Ark had a natural Rhotuka launcher in his left hand and he charged it up and launched the Rhotuka at the beast. It made contact and exploded in a blast of electricity. But yet again the beast was not bothered by the attack. Astral shook in rage. His yellow eyes glared at the beast. His hands clenched into fists. He breathed deeply and then screamed. From his body emanated a horrible, otherworldly sound. His three friends flinched but seemed unaffected. The beast roared in pain. Astral’s body shimmered as he rocketed forward. Faster than the others could react, Astral stood in front of the beast. His body surrounded in a teal aura. With all his might he slammed his fists one after another into the beast. The beast laughed and its eyes glowed. But nothing happened and the beast then looked concerned and its eyes stopped glowing. Again Astral’s fist hit the beast and this time a crack appeared in its skin and it roared in agony. The island itself shook and the group could see smoke was now coming out of the volcano. The beast roared again and brushed Astral aside. And Maelstrom attacked. The beast didn’t seem concerned and grabbed Maelstrom by the top of the head with its own right hand. The beast bellowed and Maelstrom’s body lit up. The group looked on in terror as Maelstrom exploded in the beast’s hand. Ark cried out in pain at the loss of his friend. Without thinking he charged the beast. The beast gutted Ark with the claws on its outstretched hand. But Ark didn’t give up. He shapeshifted away the damage and turned his two arms into four and then made the end of his arms all blades. He slashed at the beast in an uncontrolled rage. But the beast kept its calm. And it grabbed both of Ark’s shoulders and lifted him off the ground. Ark knew it was over and closed his eyes and returned to his default form. The beast bellowed and Ark exploded in a blast of light. Astral got back to his feet. Bellum screamed as she turned off her mask and pelted the beast with water. The Toa were both terrified. Bellum conjured a giant fist of water and grabbed the beast with it. Using all her might she forced the fist to crush the beast and lift it off the ground. She moved it over the pool of energized protodermis and allowed the giant fist of water to fall apart. The beast fell into the pool. But it was not meant to transform and so it was destroyed. The Toa knew that the pool of energized protodermis must be destroyed. Bellum used her mask and launched fire at the pool. The pool exploded and Astral used his power to make them both intangible so they could survive the explosion. Almost unnoticed a portal opened nearby. A Toa in silver armor stood on the other side. He telepathically called out to Astral and Bellum. They both knew they could not go back north and going further south was pointless. And after all that had happened they wanted to escape. So the ran through the portal and to wherever it went.
  4. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that part of the story and at the time I pictured an all out fight for the mask. The mask was something they both wanted immensely and so I pictured them doing whatever they could to win it.
  5. I don't really know the answer but I think that they have equal power to a Toa and with finer control of their power than a Toa. That is how I think it was but nostalgia might just be clouding my memory.
  6. Tren Krom. He had so much potential and it was all thrown away in a story that will never be truly complete.
  7. I rarely use them. But when I do I look through the old RPGs and some other random topics if I feel like I really need something to do.
  8. I don't really get that many notifications. I don't really remember getting anymore than one or two. But I can't recall specifics.
  9. I have not messed up any farms. I have not been on lately and when I have I jump around my land without doing anything. I am bothered you would even think I would sink that low. Whoever is using me as a scapegoat. I am deeply disappointed in you. I can't and won't do anything to you. I am just annoyed. Frankly if these hostilities continue. I will leave.
  10. Hello. Someone decided to be a brat and leave a sign on my land. It said "Hey keep your hands off my land." Or something like. I don't entirely remember as I threw the sign into a cactus. But I am largely annoyed, enough that I'm actually posting. I would like to know who left that sign and why they left that sign. As I have not been on very often and am quite confused as to why this happened.
  11. I often picture them in a way that looks as if they are almost real. Like in a movie with really good special effects.
  12. Back when I was part of the text based RPGs I think I once got about twenty posts. But that was a long time ago and I don't remember too clearly.
