  1. IC: Hassan "Now that you mention that, I'd like to take back what I said." They rode the lift up in silence, until Hassan couldn't keep silent any longer. "Maybe I'm going to have to apologise again... Gwen, are you sure you're fine? I'd much prefer you talk it out instead of going into our next inevitable battle with worries on your mind. Don't worry, I'm a halfway decent soldier. I've dealt with what you've gone through and I can help you. "It's the least I could do to repay you for... All this."
  2. IC: Lunefeld "Don't presume to lecture me on loyalty. I understand it very well. I've simply never had the impetus or desire to seek one such right hand man yet."
  3. IC: Glass "Okay, alright. Umm, so... Fitting in well to your old environment so far?"
  4. IC: Glass Glass laughed aloud at that. "It's a good kind of worry I guess."
  5. IC: Hassan "Got it," Hassan complied. The lift trundled down. "Don't fall off," he said, opening the lift door. "Though with your kind of height, it'll be difficult if you tried."
  6. IC: Lunefeld "Impeccably competent, complete loyalty to me and no qualms whatsoever. "You can see why I've never had a proper second-in-command."
  7. IC: Glass "Yeah... I guess we should just stay in class for now."
  8. IC: Hassan "Umm how long do I have to do this for?"
  9. IC: Glass "Well, at least you're not under suspicion. I don't think the headmaster knows who's gone yet."
  10. IC: Glass "Don't write it off too soon. Childish or no, these assignments are certainly doing their job of making fighters and killers of us, and with Icarax as Headmaster... I don't know if it won't get worse."
  11. IC: Hassan "I mean, there can't be any stuck cartridges in this fat thing, right?" Hassan grunted aloud as he scrubbed the gun barrel. "Y'know, another hand could really help right now."
  12. IC: Glass "Guess we should stay far from the assignments then."
  13. iC: Glass "Yeah, those Prefects... I'm worried that he'll start taking personal interest in us Rahks."
  14. IC: Glass "Well, you did say you're waiting for them to come back. We should probably hang around since you broke contact with them. In the meantime, we could see who's up for some... extra-curricular excursions," he suggested. Sand jumped out of Xara's arms and landed on the floor, before disappearing from view again.
  15. IC: Lunefeld Ahh, I see. "You wouldn't happen to know someone suited for that role, would you?"
  16. IC: Glass "Hey, it's fine. I understand... I'm just glad you're safe," he gave a rueful smile.
  17. IC: Glass "Well, you're doing your part, at least. "And about that... Look, I don't hold it against you, but you could have invited me to join you."
  18. IC: Glass Glass suppressed an involuntary shudder. "Always thought they were simply boasting... Is there no one opposing them?"
  19. IC: Lunefeld Flattery? Or genuine admiration? Lunefeld's brow furrowed, wondering what the other man was playing at. "That is good to hear, although with my long absence from the village I assume many of those I have missed have crawled back out of the woodwork.
  20. IC: Hassan Hassan opened his mouth to protest, then sighed. It was clear she wasn't ready yet. Pressing on would shut her up even more. "Okay, if you're sure. We can talk about this later. He sent the lift up and resumed looking for the tool. "Found it."
  21. IC: Glass "Woah... All the way to the Continent? Did you find anything?"
  22. IC: Glass He waited for her to elaborate, but it was clear that was all. "Okay. Um, why did you come back, then?"
  23. IC: Lunefeld Lunefeld imperceptibly raised an eyebrow. "Which one? I've had a hand in ending the existence of many crime families in my time," he replied. A pang of concern struck him then. He couldn't possibly mean... No, nobody knows how they died.
  24. IC: Glass "Seems you can't get into specifics. That's fine," he added. "But are the others still safe?"
  25. IC: Hassan Hassan kicked himself. How obtuse could he be? She was the one worried, and she needed reassurance. "No, it's not stupid," Hassan started. "Gwen, I know you're worried. Are you sure you don't want to talk about it?" He asked, activating the vertical lift and lowering himself down to ground level. He decided the repairs could wait for now.
