  1. I get that you're saying a strong storyline would help it gain ground and a fan following, but moving forward from the present, I just don't think a third reboot is going to get people on board. G1 has run its wonderful course and cutting off G2 now would just make people scratch their heads about this top-tier writer ground-up plan. The sad reality is that Lego, this time around, isn't pushing Bionicle as its most powerful theme — they haven't prioritized it. G1 has been laid to rest and I think its power lies in its nostalgia factor and quasi-obscurity. Generally speaking, what Lego has done with the Ninjago theme is very similar to G1 Bionicle: consistent characters, seemingly weirder and weirder villains, and a character-centered storyline. Kids will buy sets for cool factor as they always will, but they tend to have some knowledge of the characters, too. But Lego really can't bring back one of their old big bang themes with the intention of reproducing it on the same scale.
  2. I'm really digging the cloth, system, and stickering on this. Nice work!
  3. Nice! This is some sweet armoring and weapons. I really love when people take poops and make them into fully fleshed-out figures, and the wings pull it together. The thickness of the legs feels a little off, though — the thighs should be thickest, slimming down towards the ankles.
  4. This is beautiful! I especially love what you've done with the base area — I'm jealous. The walker manages to be extremely detailed while maintaining a coherent and simple shape. It's amazing!
  5. Main (alt) In flight (alt) I had the idea for the wings/landing gear, and it all sprung from there. I'm pretty happy with how the body worked out, but I do regret it not fitting a fig. Surprisingly, the problem wasn't the arms (as it usually is) but the hands — since the seat was so far forward, they ran into the windscreen's corner "bricks." If you're not sure what I'm talking about, it's this piece. (Sorry for not embedding the images)
  6. Something weird's going on... I can see the results for some reason. The other prelim results were hidden, but this one shows them like they used to show.
  7. Similar to what Evergrey_Toa said, I'd like to see some development of Protector society and Okoto wilderness. Sets besides the good-guy bad-guy thing would be nice, even in they're still somewhat tied to either side of the conflict. I also share the common sentiment of wanting more colors of shells and shell accessories, mainly because dark bley and tan shells would be SO useful. And mask packs? *Heck* yes. Just not like Onua's less-than-mediocre mask. I think there should be a bit more consitency in the proportions of the faces, at least between builds of the same size.
  8. Maaaaaaaan... 11 was charmingly whimsical, but its disjointedness took away from the beautiful body build. I think if it was just an elephant or just a giraffe it would have won me. ...But that moose... okay I'll just say it: I LOVE IT. Outrageous, simple, and smooth. The best part, though, is the tongue. Entry 8 all the way.
  9. Gotta be entry 1. The way it does the masks is perfect. Also can't beat hexagonal background. -MT Don't get me wrong, I like the kanohi on number one, but the avatar is off-center from its hexagon background, and would pretty much look like a grey blotch when reduced to avatar size, as opposed to, say, number three.
  10. Could've gone with number five, but the profile was a pretty general shape and I couldn't quite figure out what some of the blobs in the sig were. Number two did a great job of expressing the spirit of the site in a pretty purist way (I hope), and the youtube thingy is fascinating.
  11. I ended up going for the sleekest entry (even though I don't have the slightest idea what it's from). I also happen to be a big sucker for good posing. The Zelda was tempting, but Ganondorf was just too rough a build. I really did love Zelda's shield, though. I think I could have gone either way had it not been for Ganondorf. I went with #7.
