Funnily enough, I think I might've had the two penguins on the left as a kid, or at least ones that looked very similar.  Nice collection!

    :music:

That's actually really cool because those two are like long lost heirlooms or something.  I've tried searching for them online (and I know most stuffed animals aren't like Beanie Babies with entire websites dedicated to tracking them), but I can't find anything about "The Windsor Collection Exclusively at Sears".

Oh my goodness, this is the adorable content BZP blogs were made for❤️. Their storylines are hilarious and sweet, thanks for sharing!!! Like a Mr.

Roger’s Neighborhood vibe content. What’s so funny to me about this is the fact that I now own clones of your plush phamily/phriends- Lots of the Beanie baby ones-definetly the groundhogs and hedgehog-thanks to inheritance of my hoarder grandmother’s

collection…which I’m now dragging out for greeting card holiday/ seasonal decor (senior citizen/prescool style 😂)These cloned ones are now official BZP brand member plushies to me, haha!

(Also happy dance to see an Axolotl in the array, yay 💗)

Thank you!  Really cool that you've acquired many of the same ones especially Mr. Atonomi (yes I know it's spelled Punxsutawney, but I can't even spell it now without googling it so he's Mr. Atonomi).

    Axolotls for the win.

Good collection. I was definitely big into stuffed animals as a very young kid before I got into Lego.

Thanks.  Your comment got me wondering why my lego and stuffed animal hobbies never clashed as a kid and I'm guessing it's because back then I mostly got animals from yard/garage sales (and still found some good stuff).  I'm pretty sure I've only found Bionicle sets/pieces at exactly one sale I went to.

It's funny to imagine how this universe function, like why banks even exist if robbing them is legally mandated.

They exist just to be robbed and then when they run out of money the government bails them out with the tax money that is probably what was stolen from them in the first place.  Assuming all the villains pay all their taxes.  I wouldn't be surprised if they have super high taxes just because Von Nebula knows most villains will only pay a fraction of it.

Anyway, it's been a solid seven or eight years since I read any of the HF books, but the bit about the banks has stuck with me.  My favorite was the flashback one (#4 I think?).  I remember being a little disappointed with the Core Hunter one because he was more favorite later wave villain, but barely did anything.

Hmmm... What was your first Bionicle set? Do you remember the day you got it?

Oh, here's a good one: what is the Airspeed velocity of an unladen Gukko? :P

    1) I'm pretty sure it was Pohatu Mata.  Part of me thinks it might have been Turaga Matau (still on my desk right now), but that could have been after.  Either way, all I remember about Pohatu is it was Christmas 2001 and I didn't push the pins into his hands all the way so they fell out when I started playing with him.  And that is how I learned about friction.

    2) 23.6 kios.

Can I ask more than 1?

Sure, I mean it's not like I'm drowning in questions here or something.   😝

what animal would you be if you had to chose which fit you?

A dog.  I think it fits because my mind immediately started thinking of what job I'd have.  Guard dog, support dog, maybe even one of those St. Bernards with a barrel of brandy.

    Something you’re looking forward to?

Publishing my first book in a few months.  I know that's not super impressive for a lot of reasons  (including the fact it's just an e-book), but the number of people who say they are going to write a book is a lot larger than the people who actually publish one so yeah I am excited for it.

Being...kind (pretty sure that's the right word).

A good thing that happened to you last year?

Seeing my half-sister for the first time in a few years.

    Something you are afraid of?

Plesiosaurs.  Mosasaurus are bad too, but there's just something not right about them that creeps me out.

So strange, someone told me that yesterday marked 30 years precisely since my grandfather (who initially renovated this place and I never met) died. I had no idea and published/finished it simultaneously by chance. 😯

    Appropriate music

Also, incredible work as always.  I used to have a velociraptor like the one you have in The Sam Suite.  Kind of miss him.

the site is growing now so that's good

No doubt, although I wish G&T would get some love.  Of course even if the site was super busy again I'm not sure I would be around more often, but you know that's just how it goes.

This makes me wonder whats causing the revival here.  I know the world's going through 2000's nostalgia, but I've always assumed that if Bionicle was going to part of that it would be in the form of references in media or a reboot not an old internet forum seeing new blood.

This is great to read! I picked up a creative writing hobby (mostly Bionicle fan-fiction) back in the day that was really brought to life by BZP, and I definitely learned a lot - about writing, finding what I like to read and how it can inform my writing, and do's and don'ts of being part of a writing community. From someone who was never able to break away from fiction - kudos!

Awesome track record you've got, and it's definitely something to be proud of! It's always very satisfying to look at collected word counts. Keep up what I'm sure is great work : )

Thank you very much!  🙂  It definitely means a lot to hear this from another writer.

  10. I started the year in a funk and even after I got out the year still had its ups and downs like always.  I got to enjoy more of the same things I always do and I like to think I at least made some progress in the direction I want to go...

...And even if I didn't, I know for a fact I greatly improved my writing habits, which is one of the most important things for me right now so I'm happy abut that.  🙂

  11. First, thank you for your interest!  And for it's worth, I think your card design actually looks pretty good.

Since making this post I've decided to give the game a generic fantasy theme.  Unoriginal I know and using characters from established franchises like Bionicle, Star Wars, LOTR and whatnot had its appeal, but I feel like plain fantasy can reach a wider audience.  Especially, since my next largest source of interest for this game is a discord I'm in for a SW board game; if I themed this game around just Bionicle, they'd probably be like, "What the heck is that?"

A lot of other things have been eating up my time lately so I can't say when I'll have the game available to play, but I did make a post on my board gaming blog with the rules and some other design notes if you'd like to read them.

3: Out of pure curiosity, what was your blog name before the update mutated it?

1: I've never noticed that before, but I guess it fits the theme of the EP.

    2: Thanks.

3: "The JAG18 Stronghold" (2006 was always my favorite Bionicle year).  I've never felt like changing my blog name back (and looking back now I don't think it was a very good name) or coming up with a new name so I just leave it as it is.

Oh and I just remembered I had a second title or "subtext" like "100% Awesome, 0% Boring" to go along with the name.  Yeah...

Thanks for convincing me to download Spotify with these entries. XD

*Somehow fails to figure out how to use it to play this but just happy using the app*

Oh wow, that's so cool.  I've been using Spotify since the end of 2014 and it more or less turned me into a hard core music lover.

    To play this,

    1) copypaste my list into a comment (or a word document which is what I do), but remove my answers

    2) Grab a playlist (I don't know how many you've made or if you prefer the saved/library features, but you can use any playlist with at least 19 songs in it)

    3) Hit the shuffle button on said playlist

    4) Answer each question with the song title and either wait for each song to finish or just hit the"skip" if you want to go faster (but artists only get money if you listen to at least 30 seconds of a song so you know...)

    5) Once you've answered all the questions, copypaste the result in my blog (or your blog or you can keep it to yourself, which is fine too)

    6) ????

    7) PROFIT!

Haha, thanks. XD Wow, just looked up the PVC bows, they look so intriguing! Did you make it yourself?
I’m not sure if I’d ever be comfortable using real arrows, I accidentally put a pretty deep hole in our wooden fence with the dull ones.

Yeah, I did.  Around that time I was watching a lot of videos on Youtube of some guy making weapons in his garage and I was like trying to get into the hobby as well.  The only thing about pvc bows is I'm pretty sure no matter how you make them the poundage will always be high; I know the one I made I couldn't pull it back to full draw with a normal grip and the only way I could actually shoot it was having my palm facing away from me.

Oh wow, yeah I guess that's definitely a possibility when you're firing sharp things.  Maybe it's a good thing I never tried firing real arrows.  :P

  15. I briefly owned a bow I made out of pvc pipe and paracord; I think I sometimes wore my hoodie jacket while shooting it, but I'm pretty sure that was the closest thing I had to arm protection.  I didn't have it long it enough to get a quiver so I just carried my arrows around in my hand.  Also, I never upgraded past practice arrows so all I shot were cereal boxes.

So yeah, congrats on being a 10x more prepared and better equipped archer than younger me.  :P

The only thing I see wrong with this picture is the Hero Factory sets. >:(

Also lol @ Pohatu and Thok.

    Sorry not sorry.  :P

Yeah, at first I tried to pose Pohatu so that he was kicking Thok kind of like how Vakama is kicking Kongu, but I couldn't keep Pohatu up so then I looked at his fingers and thought, "This could work..."

  17. Speaking as a guy who's favorite holiday is Halloween, my traditional time is Oct. 1-ish.  I guess if it's general autumn decorations then maybe mid-to-late September is fine.

Marginally related, I once remember seeing on this TV show, some guy who celebrates Christmas everyday; eats like it's Christmas, opens a present, and I presume keep the decorations up year round.  Whenever that guy comes to my mind I try and imagine what the Halloween version of him would be like.

He is huge! Eventually, I need to open and build Maxilos and Spinax, and I wonder if Maxilos manages to stand as tall as Brutaka.

I never got Axonn because he was smaller and I disliked the usage of Metruan limbs for fingers on his hands. I know LEGO was trying to push the envelope here, but it just didn't look so great in my eyes. I do like those giant axe pieces, though, and the overall color scheme is great.

You wanna talk about huge, one of the benefits of having Axonn and Brutaka was I was able to build Botar and see him in all his glory.

Sorry, but that's all I think of now whenever I hear someone bring up Dino Attack.
