After a little break, here are three more MOCs, continuing the journey of Master and Protector combinations. This time, all three models are 4-in-1 (2 Masters, 2 Protectors). Pics Next up, 6-in-1 Ultimate Master and Ultimate Protector.

Keeping in line with combining two different sets, meet the horned masters and protectors of frost (water+ice), magma (fire+earth) and ruins (earth+jungle). A few more pics here. Next up, the original Toa Kaita, reimagined as Masters of Volcano and Tundra.

"The King" Having finished the Master+Protector combinations, I started combining the various Masters and Protectors with each other. First up, the combination of Stone and Earth - Waha, Master of Mountains and the Protector of Mountains. More pics of Waha and the Protector. Next up Water + Jungle (= Swamp) and Fire + Ice (= ???). Anyone has a good suggestion for the name of the Fire and Ice combination? The only thing I can think of is Steam (which I want to use for Fire + Water) and Frostbite, which doesn't seem to be something you want to be a Master of

Love it! It really gets the dwarven look across. Have you considered removing the blades on the weapon to make it look more like a hammer? I feel like that would be a more appropriate weapon for the look you're going for.

So I have finally got around to making the rest of the Master/Protector combinations. So here they are: Pohatu, Breaker of Stone Gali, Cleaver of Water Onua, Brute of Earth Tahu, Harbinger of Fire Kopaka, Sentinel of Ice Lewa, Arrow of Jungle Each can be made using only parts of the Toa and the corresponding protector, who's parts are used mainly to enhance the fighting capabilities of the Masters. We have two tanks (one HP-based, one block-based), two Melee and two Ranged. Sounds balanced

Just a few, mostly the connections pieces. I would like to fit the two armor pieces somewhere but couldn't find any places that wouldn't impair articulation too much. Also, I was pondering making a sort of spider skull totem for Onua's back using the spiders and the torso piece but then I decided to leave this for Tahu and his samurai-ish sashimono (banner).

Onua, Brute of Earth (combination build of Master of Earth/Protector of Earth). When a sudden cave-in crushes Korgot, Onua carries on her memory. This is a MOC, using only parts from Onua, Master of Earth and Protector of Earth. The action feature works well, moving both sets of arms in opposite direction. The stud shooter is functional as well, though a bit harder to operate.

Thanks guys! I got a much better setup so I can take much better pics now. I'm gonna redo the MOC and take a few more shots for instructions. I will definitely start working on combining everything in the Jungle as well! Edit: Updated first post, check it out! Next up, Onua.

I like the idea of a bow for the jungle element, it evokes an image of a hunter stalking its prey in the forest. But yeah, I agree that the bow as a weapon is overused, and I especially hate how the launchers don't really make sense with the bow arms - you really just need the launcher (like the Protector of Fire) and nothing fancy around that. There weren't enough pieces in the Master/Protector sets, but combining it with the Uniter sets it should be possible to actually make a bow that makes sense, with an arrow instead of a gattling gun in the middle.

Lewa, the Arrow of Jungle (combination build of Master of Jungle/Protector of Jungle). When a skull spider attacks and poisons Vizuna, he makes the ultimate sacrifice to help Lewa in his quest. Video Remove the shoulder armor from Lewa and move the friction extenders from the hips to the shoulders. This helps compensate for the large weight of the bow. Everything else should be clear from the pictures; the bow shape can be changed and there are a few pieces left over to customize further. A few connections are a bit flimsy due to the limited parts, especially near the bow-cannon. Action feature still works, though isn't of much use, stud shooter works as well. --- I will be making a similar combination for all of the 2015 sets and then I will be moving on to do combination builds for all 4 of the 2015/2016 sets. I want to follow a set theme for each of the Toa to make sense canon wise. The bow for Lewa is an extension of the bow that the Protector of Jungle gives Lewa as part of their official combination.
