About Me

I became a BIONICLE fan in March 2001 when I got Tahu and Turaga Vakama in the mail from the LEGO Mania Club magazine promotion. I only joined BZPower, however, in July 2003 after lurking on the site since the Kanohi-Power days of early 2002. My early actions on the forums (like most of my later posts) are forever lost to time, but I didn't really find a "home" until I wrote "Matoran Boot Camp", a comedy that I initially played out with my younger sister to entertain her with my Matoran sets. It met with middling interest, but I enjoyed using BIONICLE, something I loved, as a source of humor. This led to me writing BORNICLE, an epic comedy if there ever was one. Starting from BIONICLE comic #1, I parodied (lovingly) the tales of the Toa, Matoran, and Turaga for the next several years, garnering a unique group of fans and the ire of other more established authors in the BZP universe.

When not writing a new chapter of BORNICLE, I started frequenting the Storyline and Theories forum, often giving some good fuel to the fire for my own and others ideas on BIONICLE's "big picture". And in the summer of 2005, I was even a contestant on "The Master of BIONICLE" competition, hosted and judged by none other than Greg Farshtey himself! Sadly, I didn't win or even get close, but it was a great experience in learning the realities behind running a massively-popular toy line with finite resources and specific demands from corporate.

Sadly, going off to college in 2007 put a real damper on my time spent on the forums. And with BIONICLE's conclusion in 2010, my enthusiasm to finish BORNICLE or theorize kind of evaporated. The big Dataclysm of 2011 did the rest by eliminating my posting history. I made a brief return to form with the news in late 2014 of BIONICLE's return, but the form it took in 2015 didn't light my world on fire, and I abandoned BZPower once again.

I return once more now, seventeen years after I joined the site, to lament the passing of a titan of my LEGO and BIONICLE fandom. Since 2015, it looks like not even a record of my post count exists any more, and the site has been relegated to .info status. Although there is little to do here and even less that reminds me of the halcyon days of 2003-2006, I glad to have been a part of it all, even as small a part as that was. May my digital ghost continue to haunt these corridors until site management closes this thing down for good.
