  1. So today was my 18th birthday! I don't feel any more responsible. I had some nice cake, lots of pizza, and I got a $25 Xbox gift card plus a controller charging station! I bought Halo 3: ODST for The Master chief collection, and funnily enough just in time to get a date-specific achievement. I'm very happy with My Xbox One a month on. I've finished Tomb Raider and Valiant hearts (I had played them both on PC before, but it was a good excuse to replay them) , all the campaigns in the MCC (sans ODST) , and am almost done with Episode 2 of The Walking dead Season 1 (I watched a let's play of it when it was coming out, to my everlasting shame. I'm happily rectifying that mistake now though) . I haven't played The Deer God or GOW much so far, but I'll probably get around to them eventually. No idea what I'll do with the remaining $20 from the gift card, I'll probably wait to see if any of the deals with gold catch my eye. I'm excited to see what the GWG for next month will be, since it'll be the first month with Backwards compatibility.
  2. Today I got my Xbox after saving up for months for it! I got a good deal at Costco ($409.99 CAD for the GOW bundle plus an extra controller and 12 months of Xbox live gold, works out to the console itself only being about $250) and tomorrow I'll head to Walmart to pick up the MCC. It feels kinda surreal finally having it, since it feels unfamiliar because it's the first time I've used it, but familiar because I've been ravenously consuming any videos and information I could get my hands on in the last 6 months. I'm currently downloading GOW plus The deer God and Tomb raider definitive overnight. I heard that the interface was clunky, but it feels fairly intuitive, at least to me. I probably won't be getting many more games in the near future (outside of GWG) besides MCC and potentially Halo 5 when it comes out, but I do have several games in mind that I'm going to try to get over the next year.
  3. Probably either the Hero pack (The only promotional item I have) or Titan Mata Nui.
  4. I got the Protector of Fire and Hero pack off of the Lego site along with some Star Wars sets back in June.
  5. It's kinda cool how this is the second time there have been pictures of this specific mask on BZP. The first being January 2002 when it was originally won by Binkmeister. http://bzpower.com/story.php?ID=1
  6. I've added weapon storage to the Toa and protectors, and changed the limb setups on the Toa to increase range of motion, as well as on the PoF and PoI to give them lower arms.
  7. Keep them all forever. Barring loss, destruction, or needing to sell them to pay off the mob or something.
  8. I keep most of them in my two dressers, and the rest are in various boxes scattered around the house.
  9. I don't know if you could really call it a project, but over the past few years I've been sporadically working on rebuilding all my old sets. Sadly I've pretty much done all I can with my existing complement of parts, and need replacements in order to finish the few sets I have left. I've also been working on finishing off my G1 set collection in tandem with rebuilding my existing sets. At the moment though I'm focusing my money on things other than Bricklink orders, so both endeavours are on standby for now.
  10. For favourite I'd probably say 2004. It was when I really started getting into the story with the comics and, up until 2015, the Toa Metru were the best fusion of gear functions and posability in the line. I also think that Legends of Metru Nui still holds up the best out of all the movies. For least favourite it's hard to decide, since I liked pretty much all the years, but if I had to choose I'd probably say 2008, although only based on the sets. I just wasn't really a fan of most of the designs, mainly because silver, black, and grey were primary colours across all the sets, and being right in the middle of the brittle sockets debacle didn't help matters. Although I did love the story for the year.
  11. It was either Maku Mctoran or Gali Mata. I can't remember which came first. I was only like 3 and a half years old when I got Maku at least, since I remember getting her from McDonald's, which means the promotion was still running. Gali was a present so she might have come later, but it's already a miracle that I can remember anything from when I was that young, so the time details are hazy.
  12. I'm looking forward to when the [i/]really crazy knockoffs come out.
  13. I got an unexpected gift of the most recent Lego AT-AT yesterday! It was a very pleasant build (although the legs were very repetitive) and it felt great to be doing a big Lego build again for the first time in like 3 years. It inspired me to get a few more Star Wars sets off of Lego S@H as well as the Protector of Fire (Who is the last set I need to complete the first wave of Bionicle 2015!) . Although I can't say the free Admiral Yularen mini figure and poster weren't also an influence. Speaking of which, I've been thinking of putting some posters up in my room, since I've got quite a few lying around (A Portal 2 poster that my sister bought my a couple years ago, a Star Wars poster, the poster from the AT-AT, the map of Okoto from the Bionicle hero pack, and the poster coming with my Lego order) and now that I have more wall space, I can actually use them.
  14. Went with POJ, Gali, and Yes. Nobody loves Poor Pohatu and POW though : ( .
  15. No. It just wouldn't make financial sense for either Greg or Lego to finish the loose ends left by the serials. As for whether I want it to happen or not. . .I'm not sure. Part of me wants to see the aforementioned loose ends tied up, but the other part kind of wants them to just leave it as is.
  16. While I think that Toa (Generation 2) would work fine, I think that Toa Okoto would work better, since it fits in with previous Team naming conventions and has a nice ring to it.
  17. The shells (picture 2) are usually referred to by length in terms of studs, for example, the shell in the picture is four studs long. The bones (picture 1) I haven't really seen a unified way of referring to the different lengths, but I imagine that length in studs would work for those as well (The one in the picture would be about 5 studs long) . Picture 3 I've just seen referred to as "Bionicle shell add on" in most places.
  18. One shelf for the Toa, one for the protectors, one for LOSS and your skull spider entourage (And skull villains if you get them) . And the fourth for loose collectibles. (I.e gold masks and promotional stuff.
  19. The actual cost in Canada is only about $225 CAD, (Not including tax or price varying from retailer to retailer) since they aren't priced as an accurate currency conversion. Protectors are $12.99 CAD, small Toa and LOSS $17.99 CAD, and big Toa are at $24.99 CAD I definitely think they're worth that price (Currently have all the Toa as well as POI, POS, and POW, and just ordered LOSS, POJ, and POE off of the Lego site)
  20. Over the past couple years or so I've been only occasionally checking BZP (Much more frequently now that Bionicle's back) But pre-2011 rarely would a day go by without me at least browsing here.
  21. I got The surge and Rocka combat machine last Christmas. My first HF set since the second wave of Breakout, and probably my last unless I get a craving for spare CCBS parts.
  22. So, since I might have become a little obsessed about Halo in recent months, I thought I'd talk about the Halo series and my history with it. My first experience with Halo (that I remember) was playing a few minutes of Halo 2 split screen (I think, I recently watched a let's play of Halo 2 and nothing really jumped out at me as familiar, but I definitely remember there being a Grunt, and you know how memories are) at a friend's house years ago (I know it was after 2006, maybe 08 or 09) among a few other games. Around 2009 I saw the first Mega Bloks Halo sets in a Zellers one day, and being an impulsive kid, convinced my parents to buy me the UNSC Hornet (I had previously had quite a few Mega Bloks sets, but that's a story for another day) . I was overall pretty disappointed in the quality of the parts and thus didn't bother to get any more of the sets. Where things really started though, was when I watched a let's play of Halo Reach on YouTube in 2010. That was what prompted me to do some reading into Halo lore. I probably spent several hours reading about it before moving on to other things. Then in about 2010 or 2011, I was in a superstore and the Mega Bloks Covenant Banshee caught my eye. I had heard that Mega Bloks had upped their plastic quality and convinced my parents to buy it for me. This time I was much happier with it and ended up buying many more Halo sets before my interested waned in 2012. Later that same year I watched a let's play of Halo 4, which triggered another burst of wiki reading. Nothing really significant Halo-wise happened to me between then and December 2014 besides picking up Halo Spartan Assault on a Steam sale for 2.49. What triggered my recent Halo obsession was, of all things, a review of a Halo Sprukits model kit by a Lego reviewer I had recently started following. This got me thinking about potentially buying a console in order to actually play a proper Halo game. I had previously thought about doing so, but I had never really seriously considered it. With the trifecta of 1. The Master chief collection being out, meaning it would be easy to jump in. 2. My PC starting to have difficulties with running newer games, meaning that having a current-gen console would be very useful. And 3. My long-standing wanting to play Halo, I started saving up my allowances to buy an Xbox one along with the Master Chief collection (Currently I'm at $80 saved up, and am on track to have enough by the end of the year) .
