  1. Hey all,

So BS01 and The TTV Podcast will once again bring you MakutaFest 2016. But before we proceed, we need to ask a major question: Where should we host it this year?

The pros and cons of each selection are many, but it boils down to how you guys want to do it. If we end up on YouTube, we'll have to forgo a few of the previous years' giveaway options (in form of trivia) since it'll be nearly impossible to keep track of the chat otherwise. We'd also have to move to a secondary page for chat via forums in order to moderate chat.

On Twitch, these can be easily moderated on the fly, but we risk gaining random twitch followers who want to come in and spam links. The main pro for that system is it's what we used last year, so many of our regulars are already signed up for it.

If we get a mass majority selecting one or the other, we'll most likely go with that one.

So yeah, go forth fans, let's decide this!

  2. Hi Jam Pot Studios,

As Kraahlix said, we haven't actually come to a consensus on the subject, however it's the current stance that it remain off of BS01. We never actually offered to post the winners as a prize during this or the A Thousand Years Untold 2 contest, but at least I am open to the idea.

The easiest place to actually suggest we add them is right here: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/BIONICLEsector01_talk:Articles_for_Creation If you submit your idea to the Articles for Creation page, the community will have an opportunity to share in on discussing the pros and cons of adding it to BS01 :)

We do appreciate you keeping interest in the content of BS01, and we look forward to your contributions!

  3. Hey everybody, the BS01 Podcast is back in action!

  4.

I'll try not to disappoint. *Signs*

    Sweeeeerrrrrrrt

If you get my name, send me one of the signed Star Wars constraction sets, m'kay? Thanks in advance.

Ha, I wish I could. I only got one of each, and they're all tied up in the contest now.

I'll just have to come up with something better then.

  5. Welcome to BS01's The Empire Gives Back contest. With Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming up very quickly (December 18th, 2015 in NA), we are giving out six brand new Star Wars Constraction Figures, signed by the design team behind them.

    (Click for Video)

The first giveaway is already well underway, with Commander Cody. To enter for that, you will need a Facebook account; Hit "share" on our video linked above in the photo, and you will automatically be entered. (You will need to set the share to public, otherwise we cannot see your name. If you are unable to share publically (we understand these things happen), send a screenshot to biosector01@outlook.com confirming you shared our video. That will also count.) The deadline for Cody's giveaway is November 25th, 11:59 PM PST.

Four sets will be given away in contests. The first is a Meme contest, where you submit a Star Wars-related meme to us. The meme must be original (don't just track down one online). The winner will receive Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The second is a caption contest. Using this photo as a base, create an original caption that best fits the scene. The winner will receive Jango Fett. Both the meme and caption contests' deadlines are December 2nd, 11:59 PM PST.

The third is a theory contest. Send us your best theory about what you think will happen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The winner of this contest will receive Darth Vader.

The last is a photo contest. Recreate a scene from any visual Star Wars media (Movies, Clone Wars, Rebels) using Constraction style figures. This can be any set from the Star Wars line, the Bionicle line, the Hero Factory line, etc. This does also include MOCs of any parts from these sets. Both the Theory and Photo contests' deadlines are December 16th, 11:59 PM PST.

All contest submissions are done via email. Send your entries to biosector01@outlook.com. Remember to include in the subject like the name of the contest. You may enter as many contests as you like, but you may only enter each contest once, and you can only win one set, so choose carefully what you enter.

Be sure to hit Like on our Facebook, where you'll be informed of the final giveaway option, Luke Skywalker.

  6. Yeah... I just can't support renaming the nebula Solis Magna. I mean, it's a huge disrespect to the individual who discovered it to begin with, plus it'd be with a name barely anybody outside of our fandom would recognize as Bionicle.

If anything, I'm all in favor of either keeping what is there now, or naming it the Bionicle Nebula. Nobody could deny that name's origins.

  7. Also, its original name, "Mask of Vulture", was plum terrible.

;_; my Vulture mask... (Actually, I -did- name it that, specifically because of Vultraz. However, yes the change of the name is quite acceptable, given its canon status. You still can't force me to call it MoS however.)

If we're going on appearance, I'm going to air it out a bit here. Ever since the Toa Nuva were introduced in G1, the Pakari Nuva. Now THAT is an ugly mask. Quite the 180 from what we think of a mask of strength to me.

If we're talking powers, honestly the biggest letdown is probably the Sanok, Mask of Accuracy. Seriously, you get the ability to be more accurate. Ooooo such a good mask /s. And what do they do? Give it to the one Toa who actually had more accuracy as a Matoran than half the village combined, Hewkii. And on top of that, it's supposed to also turn anything into a projectile weapon. How often is this used? Barely, if at all. Such a huge waste. I'm glad he ended up with the Garai later on, worked out much better for him.

  8. On a side note, the Onua banner needs a grammar check.

I am grounded and wise. I like to spend your

time alone meditating under the stars. Through

I rarely say a word, others have come to

respect me. They know that when I speak,

my voice carries guidance and wisdom.

See the error? First line last word. Onua speaks of spending another's time alone meditating under the stars. Instead I think it should reference his time. Otherwise he is seen as disrespectful and not so much wise...

    Fixed. Thanks!

  9. I think we need a proper Lego Seahawks jersey for this :P

I'm actually looking forward to the Jurassic World sets. I feel we never got a true JP experience with the LEGO Studios series of sets, then all we got after that was JP3, and that was a letdown on its own. I just hope we get to see the sets at NY ToyFair coming up. Knowing LEGO, they'll probably wait to get closer to the movie's release though.

  10. Since my name's been brought up, I decided to chime in a bit.

I do indeed have a similar mask, and I have provided two photos with comparison to the "traditional" gold masks to help us determine what's going on here:

    goldkaukau1.jpg

    goldkaukau2.jpg

Linked because it's a larger photo (Shows the mask on a Gali Mata set)

I'm not sure what exactly happened here, though I'm looking at both masks and the thickness is identical, the plastic looks identical, yet for whatever reason it's more translucent and it's brighter.

I don't necessarily support the theory of it being "bleached" since it doesn't appear damaged, nor does it have a marbled effect, and it still has the glitter on it. If anything, I suppose "faded" is an option, though it'd require the entire mask being exposed to sunlight or something for it to happen so cleanly. If anything, I support the theory it's a manufacturing error of a kind, making it rare in its own right.

But yes, it isn't a trans yellow Kaukau, sorry :P

  11. This will probably matter to nobody, but I voted no. I agree with the belief that headcanon and roleplaying are powerful tools in the fandom, even more so than Word of Greg canonization.

The other problem I have with knowing the rest of the masks is the uselessness of it. The original point behind Kanohi was to have multiple masks; Each Toa Mata used 12 masks (not all at once, of course). Of course, this does mean each Toa of the team needs their own Suva, but it's not unreasonable to assume they had one stashed somewhere like the Great Temple in Ga-Metru. Just because Toa after 2003 didn't use more than one mask doesn't mean they couldn't.

So with that said, knowing what their "default" mask is useless, since you can use -any- mask for the circumstance, hence RPGs and headcanon.

  12. I kind of hope that they eventually change it to searching for "Tahu" bringing up, automatically, the original one, but then, as they have it now, a tab on the top of the page to go to the new one.

In my defense, that's what I've been pushing for all along XD

The current system, while currently flawed, is coming together well enough, though it still has plenty of work to do.
