  1. Yeah, did I forget to mention that little guy? I had a chance to talk to the builder/developer/programmer at the event, he and I have both been going to EC3 for about 3 years now as part of SEALUG. I find it amusing that, after reading their page, I learn that L3-G0 is programmed with a Surface Pro. I did not see that coming, but then again he does work for Microsoft so that might explain it. I'm wondering if it'll be at BrickCon Spring Exhibition this weekend. I'll get photos if it is.
  2. So this week, I the opportunity to participate in interviewing a friend of mine. That'll get posted online within the week, so I'll be sure to share it. It's pretty relevant to BZP, actually. In the other news, I've been working a bit more slowly since the Minewell project was finished, and so I've gained some time back to myself. I took the opportunity to rent and watch The Hobbit #2, then starting Lego The Hobbit. Didn't go too far into that yet, but it's already leaps and bounds ahead of The Lego Movie The Videogame in terms of navigation and stuff. Yes game, I'd love to have a map. Yes game, I'd love to have you mark where stuff is for me. Thank you. So yeah, basically more boring stuff for me, except that interview. Woo.
  3. Black on transparent and A white with steel blue background as a concept for the design I'd like to see if it wins.
  4. Maybe next year, when I say "I'm tired from working six weeks on a project under a strict deadline" someone will listen when they remember back to when I used both Toa V and Derpy Hooves to basically do absolutely nothing all day with. That is all. Thank you and have a nice April 2nd.

    HEY EVERYPONY!

So, like, BS01 was all scary and stuff, SO I FIXED IT! YAY! Do you like it??
  6. Entry Name: Mine Turtle Entry Pic URL: http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Swert109/BS01Images/wp_20140401.jpg Rider is the Panda. Normally the turtle would open up to allow for it, but for a single photo it would be impossible to show off this function.

    I return.

For too long have I suffered eating muffins. I have returned to BS01. It will be for the better of all.
  8. I'd say that was a nice bait-and-switch if the box wasn't related. Very well done indeed.
  9. So, I didn't go to ECCC yesterday, but I did get the chance to go today. Didn't buy much, but what I did buy is truly amazing. I also got to do something amazing. (Warning, large images.) Basically, I got to chat with Stuart Sayger again, along with buying a Green Lantern print that he signed, then took a photo with him, and wore the Tower of Plimps on my brick badge for a brief time before packing it away. Today was a good day.
  10. Today was day one of Emerald City ComiCon. I didn't waste any time in this fac Click for OneDrive folder I had both 2001 Comic #1 and 2006 Comic #1 signed by their respective artists. Stuart Sayger is an amazing guy to meet, and I regretting not having other comics for him to sign so I could justify more time just talking and getting to learn more. I may consider commissioning art for BS01 from him down the line.' Carlos D'Anda was also very pleasant to meet, and I was in awe of his other works as well (if I had $300 in cash right there, I'd have gotten an official art sketch he did for Batman Arkham, but alas I'm stuck to $11 in my bank account right now.) One of the vendors on the fourth floor is selling custom figures, including (gasp) various Lantern Corps members, excepting Indigo Tribe and Star Sapphires. I picked up Green Lantern and White Lantern. I am sad I didn't have an extra $10 on me, or I'd have bought Blue Lantern as well. And finally, our SEALUG display is now its own floor, with the center attractions being an R2-D2 motorized full-size model, the city of Rivendell by Alice Finch (the same builder behind Hogwarts) and our Minecraft display I may have mentioned prior. If I didn't, we're building Minecraft for ECCC. It's done, by the way I'll be going back on Sunday. If you're going, I'll be at that Minecraft layout.
  11. Aw man I still remember the day he started using my sprites for his comic. That was great. How has nobody mentioned Razor anyway? I'm surprised nobody mentioned Moutekea or Danska for the same reasons, sprites that people used quite a bit. I'd probably toss the names up that everybody else already threw out, but if I had to escalate any name up higher for dedicated fandom, I can't look further than Six. He kept this place up longer than Bionicle itself lasted, and that's from sheer dedication to the brand. That deserves its own recognition. I'd also have to name some people, some surprising from me for reasons I'm sure. Lady K, Rayg, Turakii, SPIRIT (all four of them have canonized stories in Bionicle), Toa Lhikan Hordika, DV, Brickthing, Roa, GaliGee, Erebus, the entire TTV crew, Kraahlix (he started the BS01 podcast). There's probably many more I could name, but these are the ones I could recognize for Bionicle once you mentioned them.
  12. I already picked up the Wall shirt at midnight, I was torn on whether or not to pick up Benny Stardust, if only for my love of the character from the movie. However, both my fandom and my wallet won out over that choice. I imagine it'll be a hit at work
  13. Basically, it's a ToP. It's for the Minecraft scene my studio's been building that will be at Emerald City ComiCon. And I had to fight an uphill battle just to even get this built. Seriously, nobody else knew about it except me. I'm just not regretting it at all. Also to answer a question that will be asked, we got a lot of that gold brick from both the 50th anniversary tubs and the 2x2 came in those golden ornament packs.
  14. The main reason Netflix is behind Gold is because Microsoft does actually host dedicated servers on behalf of Netflix which hosts their content. Whenever Netflix is down for parts of the country, users of the 360 app find they can still use it, because MS isolated their access to that server. In that vein, it explains why Netflix is Gold only, they're paying for using that server. However, I agree some of the others shouldn't be behind Gold's paywall, Internet Explorer included. But, I I still pay the $60 a year, and some years I find it much cheaper on Amazon (I managed to buy it for $45 in 2012).
  15. Dat Lantern.... Honestly, haven't seen much of the show (I don't watch TV) but the theme looks perfect for Lego. The only question to be raised would be of licensing. However, I'm pretty sure the producers would get a personal kick out of being represented in such a geeky format. I await the outcome of this one. If for nothing else, DAT LANTERN!
  16. Awesome buy, Akano! Large sets are always worth it. I'm going to pick up Benny's Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP when it comes out myself. Robot Suit Emmet, and Astrokitty ftw. Also enjoy the Martian Manhunter fig
  17. So, I'm feeling pretty stoked with some of my buying options. Tomorrow, I'm going to be buying an Iron Patriot (with gantry) from a friend. That's $22 well worth it right there. After work, I'll be ordering the Eiffel Tower and Wyldstyle's motorcycle (I can't remember the direct set name off the top of my head) and a Joker keychain for my sister's birthday in June (eh, why not?) in addition to cashing in on the Martian Manhunter fig. So yeah, that's 2 Superhero figs I'm getting for quite a bit more money than I should be spending on Lego right now. .... Everything is (expensive)!
  18. Uhh.... They can totally sit together, with the doors closed, with no modification. You just need to prop one of the figure's legs awkwardly over that cheese slope in the side. I've got both sitting in mine on my bookshelf right now. AFOLs and Lego Friends seem to go hand-in-hand. They're either buying it for the unique colors (SIX NEW COLORS!) or the new molded elements. If I had a chance now, I'd buy enough Hedgehogs to start my own army. Too bad I missed out on that it seems.
  19. I don't know that I agree with this; more competition for Lego means they'll have to streamline their product releases and find ways to cut costs; I kind of fear the day when they have to come to the conclusion that making a hundred more star wars sets is more profitable than investing in another Bionicle or Ninjago. Precisely. Mega Bloks was already selling for dirt cheap relatively, and Mattel is large enough to go toe-to-toe with Lego on that front. Plus, they would most likely retain all the IPs Mega Bloks had, which would be interesting to see what happens with those.
  20. It's also worth noting that there will be a large Lego presence there, with SEALUG and PSLTC displaying models. I know I'll be attending, if only because I am part of SEALUG and I am displaying models I also look forward to branching out and meeting D'Anda, and I didn't know about Sayger possibly going, but some comic artists do attend and aren't directly mentioned as a special guest. For example, The Oatmeal goes every year (he's from Seattle) but he isn't on that major list. I look forward to meeting you, I'll most likely be wearing my Seahawks hat with my screenname on the back of it
  21. So I should disclose, I have too much stuff. Like seriously, -too much stuff-. For about 10 years I only had one big shelf to work with. It wasn't nearly good enough to display anything with. So, now that I can officially say I am old enough to have whatever I desire, I bought 3 brand new bookcases for my room. Basically, I cleaned up my room. Shocker for me, really. Link to OneDrive folder (public for all, read only, no login required) I took 9 photos in total, each showing one section of the bookcase in total. The last photo in the folder was taken after I made some minor changes, but was taken so you could see all of it relative to each other. Basically yeah, it's a pretty spiffy setup for me, and I'm happy with it. I just wish I had more shelving to make room for some of the newer sets coming my way (Eyeing buying myself ECTO-1, and I also spotted the new Eiffel Tower, plus I plan to buy Wyldstyle's motorcycle set in March.)
  22. *shrug* I'm perfectly fine using Windows 8. I can't even look twice at my Windows 7 desktop anymore without getting frustrated. Reminds me, I should upgrade my desktop :\

    Earworm songs

You know, I don't get it. Everybody says Everything Is Awesome is stuck in their heads, though it isn't in my head. I've even been playing the Lego Movie videogame and they play it every time you obtain an objective, and it STILL isn't stuck in my head. Having said that, I somehow got all of the songs from RWBY Volume One's soundtrack stuck in my head now. Perhaps it was a -bad- idea to download both soundtracks to my phone on the same day. Also blah boredom and blah busy work schedule.

It all went downhill in the first 12 seconds. That set the pace for pretty much EVERYTHING.
