  1. Actually, you will be able to buy them, assuming those are what the "Jet Vehicon General" we saw listings for are.
  2. Those Mortis episodes are extreme love it or hate it. There is no in between, you're either really into the idea and concepts or you think it's a confusing mess of nonsense George Lucas regurgitated from his dying imagination. (I actually really like them.)
  3. I think that's a common misconception. Balance in the force does not mean having an equal number of Jedi and Sith. The Sith not Yin to the Jedi's Yang. The Sith represent sin, and their existence alone creates unbalance. The Sith are inherently evil. When Sith live they create death and violence. That devastation is not balance, balance can only come from piece and that's a Jedi thing.Anakin did destroy the SIth at Endor and he fulfilled the prophecy. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the Sith technically came back until Darth Krayt empire decades latter. Considering the Sith's knack at reemerging that's a pretty good rate of success. (Palpatine's clones don't count.)I don't expect Sith to be in the new series. My assumption will be that Jedi from the new Jedi praxeum will go rogue and turn into dark Jedi. They won't technically be Sith but they will still provide the necessary dark side element. No, that was what I meant. I was using "Sith" as a generalized catch-all for dark side users. But yeah, it was unbalanced because Sith were controlling the galaxy and the Jedi were mostly purged. So when Anakin vanquished the (current) Sith, he brought back balance. So when Luke remade the Jedi Order, more Sith and dark sider users had to arise to maintain balance. At least that's how I see it.
  4. But by definition, "bringing balance to the Force" would require Sith to exist. A balance of the light side and the dark side. If all there is in the universe are Jedi and light side Force-wielders, there's no actual balance. That's an easy way to explain more Sith.Though I would like more of a Vong-type thing, with major villains that aren't Sith.
  5. For directing, yeah, but Lucas INVENTED star wars, for crying out loud.Yes, but he sucks at directing/writing/anything directly relating to films nowadays. Being a creative consultant is the best place for him, that way he can feed all his imagination and creativity through people who can actually work with it, refine it, and produce a good story out of it.There's a video out there on that website called "What if Star Wars Episode I was Good?", which is a great example of how Lucas's ideas could have been refined by someone with actual story talent.
  6. So here's a bit of new news about it: So it sounds like there were already pretty substantial plans for another trilogy of films.
  7. Eh, no, I was referring to all those Clone Wars-era novels and comics, as well as the identities people gave Boba Fett (which were retconned, but still). I honestly have no idea what you're trying to say here. Yes, there are levels of canon, but I don't see how that "filters out the ######". And yes, the movies are the HIGHEST level of canon, followed by the cartoons and TV shows, which is why the EU is generally overwritten by them. Yeah, those people no one cares about just falling over after being hit by some lasers. That's quite the violent, gritty depticion of war. Disney has had more realistic depictions of a war in their movies than we've seen in the Star Wars films, at least. I don't understand this, either. Alternate universes? That's completely irrelevant when I'm talking about the quality and so-called "Disneyfication" of the Marvel movies. You missed my point with Pirates, too. I never said anything about source material; I was talking about the dark themes and elements the film had that could serve as a reference point to how family-friendly Disney films can be. Okay, cool. Just ignore the movies and keep reading the books if it really affects you this much.Your argument seems a little misguided, but beyond that, I just don't have as much care for the EU as you do. There's nothing wrong with you feeling that way, I'm just trying to say that Disney's takeover is not going to make the franchise any worse about the EU than it is now.
  8. Because that hasn't already been done before by The Clone Wars and even the prequels.Your point about Star Wars having only one continuity makes no sense. Just because it has one continuity (which it technically doesn't, counting some what-if? style stories) doesn't mean one bad part of it is going to mess it all up. If that was the case, the continuity would've been ruined by the Holiday Special, those Ewok movies, the prequels, the crappier books and comics that have been released... I just don't understand your reasoning here. You're implying Star Wars wasn't originally a kid-friendly space fantasy film. Which it was. The only time it really dealt with war was in The Clone Wars related media and the EU.Saying that Disney will make Star Wars "Disney family fun" is ridiculous. If that was the case, The Avengers would've been like that, and we'd be expecting the same from Thor 2, CapAm 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers 2... it's just a silly idea altogether. It's not like everything Disney is involved with are kid-friendly family films, you know. Even Pirates of the Caribbean was pretty dark and hardly a kid's movie.Even being a Star Wars fan and a fan of the EU, I think it's ridiculous how seriously some people take this sort of thing. It's all just temporary canon and published fanfiction, really. And unless everyone is going to have a big hissy-fit like Karen Traviss did, I don't see this being a big deal overall.
  9. Why do you say this? People have been raging about this all day, and I'm honestly not sure what rational reason there is for it.
  10. I guarantee they'll ignore the EU in favor of new stories. I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing, though, as it really depends on how this film turns out. After all, they'll have to take into account the actors' ages. Mark Hammil won't be able to play a Vong-era Luke. A FOTJ Luke, more likely. But odds are they'll use new characters, maybe with some cameos. At the very least, a Grand Master Luke would be cool to see as a minor character. They could still cast Ben as a main character, I think. So much speculation involved in this... such an odd decision, too. At least Lucas won't be in charge and has been brought down as only a story consultant, so hopefully this'll get us at least TCW-quality.
  11. I'm pretty sure I had drafts of about three chapters of my epic, as well as several sig codings, saved in there. Bah.
  12. Now you're just flame-baiting. Let's please not make this thread into a discussion on homosexuality. If you want to debate about this, feel free to PM me. I'd like to see this thread last a little longer.
  13. While it might be a bit of a detriment to the site, I do kind of enjoy the rather tight-knit community BZP has become.
  14. I would have brought this to staff attention earlier, but I've been very sporadic when it comes to BZP activity lately. Recently I've decided to stick around, and, eh, this is bugging me.I gave the money for a premier membership, and I go the proto boost and the 45-day name change limit, but I didn't get the title or any other PM perks. Now to be honest, I can't remember how long of a membership I signed up for, but it was at least a year, and it has to be almost up by now so I'm not sure what can be done, but I figure'd I'd let some of the higher-ups know. Thanks!
  15. 1. When was your favourite point during your stay on BZP?Probably when I first joined. Such nostalgia and the wonder of discovering Internet forums. Of course my parents had lectured me to death on the dangers of the Internet, so I was still a pretty noobish and hesitant member. Just prior to the Great Dataclysm I have the most fond memories from; back when I was a semi-popular epic writer.2. How long have you been a member of BZP?Since, uh... July 2007? I think. The Olmak means 5 years, right?3. Should that previous question have been the first question?Logically yes, but I won't judge.4. Have you had any long disapperances from BZP? If so, why?I've been very sporadic since the new forum renovation, but I think I'm going to stick around more from now on.5. Are you as interested in BZP as you used to be?Not nearly as much, no. However, I've regained a lot more interest recently, so that's good.6. Do you feel that BZP is slowly losing its members, or that BZP generally has less activity?Absolutely. There's a reason there hasn't been a post in the Official Transformers Topic in, like, almost a month. (srsly guys come on)7. If Bionicle had not been replaced, do you think that BZP would always remain strong as long as Bionicle was ‘updated‘‘ on a regular basis?I think it'd be somewhere between current activity and how it was before. Bionicle would probably be rather stagnant by now, and BZPower would definitely reflect that.8. Have I asked enough questions yet?Not nearly.9. Do you want a hug?Only if it's a Christian Side Hug!
  16. Being bisexual myself, I would find that the inability to play a homosexual character to be incredibly discriminatory. Rules exist to prevent bad things from being posted or happening. Saying that you can't play homosexual characters is basically saying that there is something wrong with being homosexual.I only said the quote was an exaggeration in my opinion, I did not deny it was discrimination (unless I planted that as a subliminal message unknowingly). The reason why I said it was an exaggeration was because it sounded like they would feel worthless if they couldn't play as a homosexual person which I disagreed. Yes it would be a little discriminatory if it said gay people couldn't play, but you can still play regardless of your sexual orientation you just can't (hypothetically speaking of course) play as a homosexual character. Now yes I would find it irritating if I couldn't play as a straight person and maybe even a little discriminatory but not to the point where'd I feel like because of my sexual orientation I was a bad person or a bad thing. But like I said I could be very wrong, as the nativist party member once said when he was questioned about his activities: I admit I'm also a little in the dark as far as how people of different sexual orientations feel about this, but to me it sounds like the rule would be extrememely discriminatory. It's like if there was a rule saying your RPG character can't be black, he/she can only be white. Or if it could only be male. That would be considered rather discriminatory, no?However, if this is dealing with Bionicle RPGs... sexual orientation should not be a factor at all, so why is that even a rule? (If it even is one; I don't do RPGs.)
  17. I initially wanted to be The Question, but apparently blue trenchcoats and fedoras are hard to come by. So I think I'll go the easy route and be Superboy. Shouldn't be too hard to find that t-shirt...
  18. Now this is just silly. The staff have to administer punishment; it's part of their job. That's like complaining about your parents disciplining you, or a debate moderator moderating a debate. If they didn't, BZP would be an unhinged cesspool of a website. You want an example? Check out some "random" boards where there is no moderation and see if you like it there.
  19. In my BZP career I've had four incomplete epics, three incomplete comedies, and at least six story ideas that have yet to be put into words.woo hoo~
  20. WHOA DUDE SOMEONE REMEMBERS ME I feel like I need to change my name back now. Gosh.Anyway, I'd like to meet a lot of people like TLhikan that I used to talk with before the downtime. Ever since then I've lost contact with pretty much everyone. He who used to be Fluffy Skirmix (Sideways77 now, I think?) as well as Blackout I've talked to every now and then. Other than them, Electric Tuhrahk and bonesiii seem like pretty cool guys. I wanna meet them.
  21. Firstly, thank you for addressing my concerns so well and kind! I was honestly expecting much lower-quality responses criticizing my remarks, heh.All right, I will concede just due to the fact that I've never had to run a forum website, so I cannot or it is very difficult for me to understand all the jobs and issues that go into running it. While I still feel like this excuse sometimes stretches its validity, I understand that it is indeed valid.Concerning "questioning staff will get you banned", that was an exaggeration. And I'm not saying that all of the staff act like gods or force this impression on the members right now, but from what I remember of BZPower back when I joined there was a lot of that behavior, not from every staff or every member, but from a few. (Even if I could name names I wouldn't, but still.) This is a bit of a weak argument on my part, and I actually don't see it as valid anymore. BZP has certainly improved on that.In addition, based on observations I've made, it seems like members have been questioning the staff a lot more lately than they used to. Not like some sort of website-mutiny or anything, but just a lot more threads like this pointing out greivances we have with the website and, by extention, the staff. I remember a couple years ago I made a thread exactly like this one, but was closed by Black Six immediately with the explanation "If you have any problems with BZPower, PM them to me." (or something along those lines), which has probably influenced my views here, heh. So yeah, just an interesting observation. I'm sure there are more parts of BZPower that are annoying. Like the die-hard BIONICLE WILL NEVAR DIE people that flocked to that very questionable piece of "news" the other day, but that's really neither here nor there.
  22. This sums up one of my major gripes. BZPower is like the overprotective, sheltered household that won't expose their kids to the real world. I'm not saying it should just break out into an all-out [insert infamous image board here]-like cesspool or anything, but lax up a bit. In addition, there are some serious holes in the idea that the rules block out all "not BZP-appropriate" things. Case and point, avatars and sigs. My avatar and sig (and display name) are from Breaking Bad, a show about a man cooking meth and becoming ruthless and evil, and features lots of of sex, drugs, swearing, and violence (despite being a phenomenal show). It's not appropriate for BZP, but I can use images from it so long as they don't show anything BZP-inappropriate. That being the case, one could make their avatar and signature images from pornography as long as nothing NSFW is shown. It's kind of ridiculous that we have the freedom to do this, yet we cannot link to sites such as the singular video site or other forums (of course, the latter was, if I recall correctly, put in place so members could not easily access other Bionicle fansites, therefore having no choice but to stay in BZPower, which... is kind of a sketchy thing to do and still have in place). And yeah, there's the word filter, but that's what everyone brings up. Not that it isn't a completely valid complaint, but still. The staff say they're working on it, and what the staff says goes, right? But that brings me to another complaint: we're pretty much trained here to treat the staff as gods, and vastly superior beings that we should fear and respect. If anyone dares question a staff member, you better say your prayers because it's off to the baning guillotine with you! Particularly all this "The staff have lives too, so stop telling them constantly to work on the site's problems." Look, I understand the staff have lives. I really do. But as staff, it's your job to run the site and make it the best you can. If life is too busy for you to run the website, either hire more staff or stop running the website. You can't expect everyone to be content with constant reminders of "Yeah, we'll get it done eventually, we have lives too so shut up." when these issues have been brought up for years now. BZPower's change after the big downtime a year (or two? Good gried, I've forgotten) ago should have been a convenient time to give the site a complete overhaul; not just external, but internal. With Bionicle dead and a good amount of BZPower's membership either given up or moved on, BZP should have adapted to survive. Instead, it has remained the same as it ever was and has suffered for it. Sorry for a long rant, but BZPower was the website that introduced me to the Internet and taught me a lot of things and skills. It just saddens me to see it with so many problems that have still yet to be fixed.(oh and one more thing i sent money to be a premier member like a year ago and i got the proto boost but no title or anything da heck guis)
  23. Oh, nice. I've always kinda wanted ML Soundwave, but I could never find him for a good price. And now with the Masterpiece coming out, I think I'll just buy it and have it my definitive Soundwave. Too bad he'll only work for MP... I'll just leave this here...http://www.majhost.c...50170029579.gifEdit: Image linked; see above.
