  1. At first I had zero interest in MP-14, but then I saw that they went all the way and gave him a new head and weapons. And then I saw that he's coming with effect parts to represent his malfunctions from "Auto Beserk".Now I kinda really want him.
  2. Yeah, but the paint apps and articulation look awful... but hey, whatever floats your boat. That G1 Optimus is the one getting a US release this fall at TRU, trailer and all, by the way. I hope MP-15 is a new Megatron to go in the "New Masterpiece" line. That or another Autobot mold, like Hound or Jazz or someone.
  3. Let's put it this way: back before the huge downtime, I was on BZPower posting every day on tons of forums. After the redesign, I was so excited to be back on the website that introduced me to the Internet that I paid to become a Premier Member (which, as you can see, clearly went wrong somehow). Now? This place is a wasteland. Any members who didn't lose interest entirely from the downtime and the death of Bionicle were probably too put off by the incredibly different and extremely clunky forum design to even bother. The activity on this board is pitiful, and it's really a shame to see this place in this state.Anyway, I barely check here once a week, and that's just to see if there's any interesting discussions in COT (which there rarely are, but maybe that's just my interests). Everything else is the same thing over and over, and yeah, it's boring. I think that if this website wants to survive, they'll need an overhaul of the rules and make the forum more Lego-centric in general, not just Bionicle.Well, that was my little rant. What can I say? I was bored.
  4. I think most of the story issues lie in the fact that the serials are basically Greg's fanfiction. He had a ton of ideas that he really wanted to write about, which he did and rushed out without really thinking them through. So then Bionicle ended with a third of the plot points wrapped up in stupid, disappointing ways and the rest still out there with no resolution. He also dug himself into a hole by planning out a huge and ambitious story that was way too much for the toyline and target audience, a lot of which contributed to the lack of interest and the line's death. The final battle was hilariously stupid, as well. Imagine how awesome a visual the proposed "Mata Nui tears Teridax's chest open and frees the Matoran" idea would have been? Mata Nui rips a hole in the robot, and there you see a bunch of islands in a sea. But then you've got the scale which makes the scene stupid in another way, but at least it'd look cool.Oh, and the sets kinda sucked from 2008-on, considering most of them were the exact same design that had been in use for three years. I'm sure that impacted sales, as well.
  5. So... anyone see the TCW Season 5 preview?
  6. I'll give you benefit of the doubt and assume you have no idea what you're talking about.Worst movie I've ever seen? Pearl Harbor. That film is so bad it actually makes me angry.
  7. And it's already hard enough finding regular Vehicon... ;_;

  9. If I were you, I'd save your money and get the US release of MP-10 this fall. I like Ultimate Optimus Prime because of how stupid and amusing it is, but I wouldn't pay over $20 for it, much less $90.BTW, I really hope a lot of those Prime Arms Microns redecoes we're seeing get released by Hasbro. Those Breakdown repaints look awesome.
  10. I can't decide which is more impressive: Soundwave or Laserbeak.
  11. Anybody else having supreme trouble finding a PRID Vehicon at retail. I found Knock Out and Hot Shot, but not a single darn Vehicon. Fortunately though, Hot Shot is a surprisingly awesome toy. I skipped on PRID Bumblebee just for this remold (since I already have FE Bumblebee), and man is he worth it. Totally rocks an otherwise "meh" mold. Knock Out is pretty neat, too. He's not very impressive at first, but once you play with him a bit, he grows on you. I just don't understand why Hasbro chose to paint all of that maroon on him, when it could've easily been sacrificed for yellow rims and better detailing in robot mode. Just... the heck, Hasbro? The heck.Oh, and FOC looks pretty darn amazing. I just can't decide what preorder I want...
  12. I have. I don't mind either ending, really. Depends on your preference, whether you like the truce, or the killing. (Plus, if you look closely at that scene, Megatron was about to fire on Optimus just as he spoke. Kinda justifying the whole pulling his head off thing.)That just makes Megatron look like a raving lunatic mentally impaired by the hole in his head. Looking at it that way, it could be seen as a mercy kill. Gee, that'd be a neat plot point! Maybe right before he kills him Optimus could've said something like, "What have you become, brother?" But that would be expecting way too much from the film. No, but if I had giant swords attached to my arms that made them about 1/2 longer, I bet I could lean forward enough to do a quick *slice*. And if you're going to factor weight in, keep in mind that Optimus has a jetpack on him. Not to mention the guns, which he could've easily discharge to free himself. My explanation is tha he was just in a rage-fueled panic and couldn't function properly.
  13. Movieverse Optimus Prime is an overpowered murderous psychopath who grabbed onto the cool dude Ball halfway through DOTM and never let go. Prime (heh) example: Oh no, I've been trapped in some wires! Why would I use the twenty blades I keep on my person to cut myself free? I must call the inept Nascar trio to climb the skyscraper and free me! Also, the ending of DOTM was horrendous. Do yourself a favor and read the movie novel; it explains a lot of things and has a much, much better ending.
  14. Yep, IDW is going in a very good direction as of late. The only thing that I'm a little iffy on is that Optimus/Orion Pax seems to be coming back sooner than initially intended. Considering the writing team they've got now, though, I seriously doubt that it will be handled poorly.Oh, and Drift is seriously awesome.
  15. Anyway, this show is freakin' great. Easily just as good as its predecessor, even just three episodes in.
  16. Sadly, no. I don't keep up with things relevant to this site quick enough.
  17. I'd say your best bet is to turn to eBay or join a Transformers fansite with an active buying/selling/trading community and see if someone can hook you up. Those people are going to be very likely to make deals so you'll generally get what you want for a good price (that's actually how I got my Universe Vector Prime).
  18. That's the same price as Fireworks CS5! BTW, does anyone know where I could find the Protoform Optimus Prime, Universe 2.0 Vector Prime with Mini-Con Safeguard(the one from 2009), or Galaxy Force Vector Prime(the one from 2006) for a lowish (around $20 maximum) price?Proto OP should be easy to find under $20, but Vector Prime? You'd be lucky to get one below $30. Especially the Universe version, which is probably the best.
  19. I think it works, because it kind of shows how much his mind has been broken. I like this better than some sort of emo-Maul.
  20. I don't see how anyone can make a decision without seeing the actual product. Though using FE Cliffjumper and Bulkhead as Classics Cliffjumper and Brawn is an... interesting choice. And FOC Starscream looks miraculous. I will buy every repaint of that toy. And if they don't release a Thundercracker, I will buy one and paint it.
  21. Stargazer made me buy the MG Strike Noir immediately.Ironically, I still haven't gotten around to getting the HG Stargazer...
