  1. Not bones, but I think I'll pitch in here (just group quoting most of these for simplicity sake. Putting Dr. O in red) Crystal; This works well. Nice and simple Acid; Both of these could work. Not sure which I like better though. I can see why Dr. O's makes sense and it's an interesting way to go about it. I'm assuming that these would be in addition to a resistance to acids/corrosion? Lava; I like this actually. Could be fun for writing How high were you thinking the temperatures would go btw? Kinetics;I prefer Click's one. Kind of like having enhanced inertia (harder to stop once started, hard to move from a single spot) Virus; Perfect Sand; Going longer without water feels better, and is suited for the kinds of environments you might find sand matoran in. Ghost: Going with Dr. O on this one, however my opinion is that it be an aura of fear that affects all around them. Can be controlled but also fluctuates with emotion, going from being slightly unsettling to short bursts of terror. (A side note from reading some of the other posts; while most matoran only have minor traits, Av-Matoran actually have the ability to channel light. It's not too far-fetched that other matoran could have minor powers related to their element too, depending on whether it's considered to be a "special" element or not. I'd leave it to bones to decide on that one, however the next element is one I'd classify as "special"...) Blue Energy; I'd say do both. The fluctuation is more of an aesthetic thing whereas the passive charge works well as a trait for that element. Sulphur; Yeah, that works Gold; I love this one Au-Matoran are the dwarves of the Atherion! XD Silver; Perfect Mercury; Umm, not quite fitting. I get the whole "quicksilver" idea, but it doesn't actually fit with the element. Personal recommendation would be fluidity; having smoother motions and being able to slip through gaps and out of bindings with greater ease. Tar; Yeah, this seems fine. Fungi; In what way, exactly? Glass; I agree with the idea of giving glass the enhanced eyesight along with crystal. As for a secondary trait, I'm not sure... Storm; Sensing weather seems to be the best way to go about this one. Storm sense Twilight; Good, but wouldn't it just make sense to give them the powers of both Av- and Kra-Matoran, just lessened? Cloud; Might be better to give the ability to see through fog, smoke, ect. Like smog vision Swamp; Maybe, though swamp traversal is another option. Vacuum; Great, though maybe adding pressure resistance to that Wood; Maybe, but less than Vi-Matoran. The climbing idea Dr. O suggested might be a good fit too Quicksands; Walk easier, yes. Create, maybe. Perhaps the ability to identify quicksand? (as it generally looks like normal, solid patches of sand, indistinguishable from normal sand) Poison; Well clearly My question is do we really need these as elements that can be controlled by Toa? I kinda get electromagnetism, but the magnet abilities should just be a combo only right? Requiring two Toa to make it, like how a protosteel cage requires six Toa to make. If not, do we need alternate abilities for them? Can't the have slight variations of a Neh-Matoran's trait? Similar to the above. I mean, there isn't anything that Anti-Gravity can do that Gravity can't already do right? Salt; Yeah, this one is a pain Looking through other sources, maybe the ability to dehydrate things (to a VERY limited extent) would be an option. Copper; Yeah, that works Rubber; A matoran of rubber should be able to resist electricity, just not to the extent that a Vo-Matoran can. I guess flexibility works Yes, yes, yes and yes Obsidian is a bit of a pain. Volcanic glass, extremely sharp and precise. Could have limited heat resistance, maybe something to do with actually having extreme precision or something, I dunno. Steel.... I guess Dr. O's suggestion of being harder to get dirty could work Plastic could have contaminant resistance, slightly enhanced durability (very slightly mind you) Oil could have a light layer of oil over their armour, allowing them to slip out of bindings or slide over some surfaces Well, that's my piece. Hope it helps Astris Janus
  2. When you say "out of pure energy", do you basically mean making shapes out of "hard light"? Solid light, whatever? Out of pure energy is a phrase often used for physically materializing new objects as with Star Trek replicators, but from the GL context I assume you don't mean that. So I would rephrase as solid light (a wording Greg has used). . Otherwise, should be good. Yes, I meant making constructs of hard light. Sorry for the confusion Astris Janus
  3. I'd like to suggest a mask that I planned on using in my epic. The Mask of Constructs - allows user to create any object they understand the workings of out of pure energy. The simpler the object and the smaller the mass, the easier it is to create and maintain. It is possible to create more than one object, but requires more concentration. Only limits are the wearer's knowledge, willpower and, in some cases, physical endurance from energy exertion. If you can't already tell, it's based off the powers of a Green Lantern Astris Janus
  4. I like it! Sentrakh or Darkness would make an excellent Black Queen. Astris Janus -------------------- Uhm, I'm not sure what you meant with "I like it! ": was it to correct my "them" or to show appreciation for my chess set idea? Oh sorry! I mean I like the idea for your chess set You know, I think this is pretty good actually Astris Janus
  5. The only reason I didn't do that was because Roodaka wasn't really with the Brotherhood that much and Gorast isn't really high ranked. At one point I considered Teridax as king and Icarax as queen simply because he was second in command I like it! Sentrakh or Darkness would make an excellent Black Queen. Astris Janus
  6. A fair while back, a friend of mine (Yio654) and I, being avid chess players and huge Bionicles fans, had a conversation about making a Bionicle chess set. Not actually a chess set made from Bionicle pieces, but a chess set with Bionicle styled pieces. We had some ideas, his mainly boiling down to just a good vs evil of the Bionicle universe, and mine being based on some more specific themes, such as Island of Mata Nui, Dark Hunters vs Toa or, my personal choice, Order of Mata Nui vs Brotherhood of Makuta. For the OoMN vs BoM set I proposed, white was OoMN and they would have generic Toa as pawns, most likely Trinuma and Tobduk as rooks (being the two largest members of the Order), Krakua and... maybe Botar(?) as knights, Axonn and Brutaka as bishops, Helryx as the queen (being female and one of the most powerful members of the Order) and the stone that represents Mata Nui as the king. Black would be BoM, with Rahkshi as pawns. I strugled with the other pieces for the BoM side, debating over the choice of king and queen and being totally uncertain about any of the other pieces. So anyway, I propose the question; if you could make a Bionicle chess set, what theme would it be and what/who would be each piece? Astris Janus
  7. It would be awesome to see those too! and Tahu's sword was always annoying for me. So much detail! Astris Janus
  8. OMG he's cute! I really like it. He's a little pot-bellied and a tad angry and cute! I'd love to see more like him, and for him, a chibi fire sword Astris Janus
  9. No offense taken Yeah, with Onua I went with a very non-traditional look. I don't know why, but I wanted to move away from the standard buff, muscle bound Toa of Earth look. and yes, he kinda does look like a girl. Onua was a bit tricky on my tablet. Hopefully I'll be uploading the ones I've drawn by hand soon and I'll see if there's a difference Astris Janus
  10. Well, it has been too long. Previously I posted topics for the other Toa Mata I had completed, but it has been a while since then so I'm just going to compile them all here. I would have got to this earlier but my internet has been on the fritz. Anyway, presenting... Tahu Gali Onua Lewa Pohatu Kopaka And before you say it, yes I know that's not how you pictured some of them if not all of them. Some of the styles just kinda came to me and I rolled with them These are basically the results of many years of different designs and concepts. As always, comments and criticism are much appreciated Astris Janus
  11. Yeah, I went with a totally different direction with Onua. I thought I'd go that way too But I made him leaner, just to make things differentAnd with Lewa, I just had to go that way! :DThanks!Astris Janus
  12. Hey BZP!It's been a while since my last piece. This time I bring two Toa!Presenting... and (Coloured Versions will be up as soon they're finished) Comments and Criticism are much appreciated thanks Astris Janus
  13. Oh my Mata Nui!This is amazing! The detail, the vibrant colours, the bold outlines, and that lava! Seriously awesome work!I would have loved to see the fire sword in there, but it makes sense without it and still looks amazing. Astris Janus
  14. Wow... I mean, wow...This is sooooo awesome! I want one now! :DSeriously, excellent work. And that Mata Nui drawing is amazing too. (and I'm gonna take a stab and say art perhaps? ) What media did you use for Mata Nui BTW? I can't tell for some reason. (I'm an art student, I should be able to do this! >.<)Astris Janus
  15. This is awesome! Really love the stylised technological design. Although I'm not sure how I feel about the feet. I know their the jumpy things, but I don't know if they'd fit on a Vahki. But still, it looks amazing. Really awesome work! Astris Janus
  16. Really nicely done! Only thing I could pick out is her head seems a little large. But other than that, awesome work! Astris Janus
  17. Yay! Humanised Avak! :DThe Bionicle version is mad, but I think that the grin is a tad small. There seems to be a lot of black space around the teeth.I really love the humanised version, especially how his hair style kinda completes out his Bionicle facial structure. :)Overall, a really awesome job! I can't wait for a full body shot! Astris Janus
  18. Thank you! Ah, the expression. That drove me insane when I was drawing her. There is only so much you can do on the tablet and I just couldn't get that face just right. Eventually, there comes a point where you just have to stop and accept that if you try to fix it now, it will just get worse. :PAs for the colour scheme... I was worried her hair might just be too much like Tahu's, but I had always had the intention of making her a blonde. The eyes were done to match the set colour, but the yellow doesn't feel right to me. And then there the overload of blue. Just so much blue. Any suggestions maybe? It's weird. I didn't really like the hair when I started, but then it turned out well. :)I'm glad the pendant turned out well. Thank you. Astris Janus
  19. Taka Nuvia post in one of my art topics...? WE'RE NOT WORTHY! WE'RE NOT WORTHY! And now that I've got that reference out of my system... You're very welcome. I miss Lady K and B_D's art. Back in '06 before I joined I'd had seen B_D's work and I LOVED it! She's basically what inspired me to try my hand at anime. I seriously recommend this app Draw(er). I've seen so many drawing apps and this has been the best. I've got an Android tablet and found it in the Android Market but I'm not sure it's available for iSO.The scribblyness is mainly because trying to get it looking exactly as you with one line is tedious and annoying. You end up having to draw a single line, erase it, draw it again, and it over and over and it takes forever. Besides, I think the scribblyness gives it character. Eh. Shading's never been my strong suite. I'll add more on the next one. Excellent! Exactly what I was going for! Will take into consideration. (and amazing wording ) Thank you very much! And speaking of more from me... LinkAstris Janus
  20. Hello BZP!As a follow up to my Bionicle Anime Tahu, I've now produced my next humanised Bionicle. So now, I present... (Black 'n' White version here) As before, will post coloured version when done Coloured version complete! Comments and Criticism are much appreciated. Thank you! Astris Janus
  21. This is mad! I really love how you've conveyed the metallic nature of his parts. All of his details have been simplified, but you can still distinctly tell that it's Nidhiki. Really awesome work man!Astris Janus
  22. Thanks man! Yeah, that was my second attempt at drawing eyes with that app, so it was bound to be a tad rough. The colour was a bit annoying 'cause I was trying to match the set's colour. And the long neck just seems to be part of my style. Astris Janus
  23. Wow it's been a long time since I've seen an Exo Force reference. But thanks man! ^_^And now, the coloured version is done and up! Hope you guys like it! Astris Janus
