  1. The lid wasn't meant to keep the beasts in, it was supposed to keep the citizens out. From what I've read (and correct me if I'm wrong, because I haven't watched the episode myself), the digging project was the whole reason the beasts were attacking the surface in the first place. By cancelling the digging project and sealing the tunnel entrance, they're making it so that the underground beasts and surface dwellers could live peacefully without interfering with one another. I suppose that's a nice take on it, but don't you think the beasts would be angry at the surface dwellers for the death of their queen and destruction of their nest? Reviewing the scene, you may be right; only the Queen is seen visibly falling down into the acid. However, the cavern IS suspiciously empty afterwards, and, assuming this species works like ants or bees, without the queen, they're doomed to extinction regardless. Well, I don't think we can assume they work like ants or bees, because we know that all the larger beasts are mutated from identical jumpers. So there's a possibility one of the jumpers could mutate into a Queen Beast in the same fashion — it doesn't necessarily have to have been genetically "born" a queen. Also, that might not have been the only hive, so the surviving beasts and jumpers could possibly be adopted by other hives. Beyond that, I am not entirely convinced that the queen died. It was falling into the same chamber as the acid pool, but it does have rudimentary wings, so like Bulk it may have been able to halt its fall before reaching however deep that hole would go before the acid settled. Also I didn't realize my comment on Eurobricks referring to "some critics on BZPower" (never to you in particular) seemed like I was referring specifically to you. I wasn't, so I apologize if it seemed like some kind of veiled passive-aggressive jab. I didn't even intend for "critics" to be taken as an insult, so I apologize if it seemed like one. You have as much right to voice the things that bothered you about the episode as anybody (personally, I was unimpressed by the pacing and music). Very possible; there might be a recessive trait in every jumper that determines what it can evolve into if that particular niche isn't filled, so if, say, the flyer beast was disposed of, a jumper carrying that trait may become a new flyer beast, but since there still is an active flyer beast those particular jumpers remain as they are. Could work similarly with the queen, assuming she is dead.
  2. Well, it looks well executed. It looks like the simpsons' house. It looks like too much money for me to spend.
  3. Pretty sure only the queen and nest fell into acid(and the queen may have caught her fall). Even yet, that's mass infanticide. Hero Factory better hope they have good lawyers! I say this because the other creatures backed out of the cavern before the nest was shot down. I really don't know how Antropolis city feels safe because they put a sewer lid on a hole that led to the caves when the beasts are obviously capable of burrowing (there's a designated breed called "Tunneler Beast").
  4. Yes, I couldn't find any parts that would make good lower legs; I may make custom lower legs in the future. I kind of think of those "wing" parts as elemental outlets. Kind of like a spot on her back where she releases excess elemental energy, thus forming ice crystals.
  5. Watch the video for multiple views/stopmotion with her in it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2dOG-3i4zI
  6. Well, if you want to get into how "cannon" a set's exact appearance is, just think of it this way; if characters looked and functioned exactly how the sets do, nobody would be able to un-clench their fists (save the older sets, which didn't have fingers to make fists with) or move their mouths... probably wouldn't even have room for internal organs! So, judging it by realism kind of throws the point, no sets are realistically possible However, (back on track) comparing the two, I'd say that the canister-sized version is more accurate, seeing as it is the most often depicted of the two, and was the only body that the story actually mentioned mata nui forming. Unfortunately, the movie was the best story teller for 2009, since we didn't get a full linear group of scholastic novels from greg (besides raid on vulcanus which may not have been in the same time frame as the later parts of 2009). But ultimately, I get the feeling that lego just wanted to release a titan mata nui (that, or they had designed that as a side project or sketch and figured that the fans would enjoy it), and it holds no story ties. Just a big mata nui.
  7. Not as far as I know, they probably just wanted another distribution and more sets in summer. You could try Amazon, for example. -Gata As of right now, amazon isn't carrying the new sets. Hopefully that will change!
  8. I really don't know what to make of the second trailer... Taco tuesday?!
  9. It's been known since December 1st. There is no word on why LEGO chose such a late release date. Maybe they wanted to concentrate all their promotion efforts on The LEGO Movie? I have a bad feeling about it... -Gata Might be a combination of that and that they want to do more product testing before releasing the wave. There is no more product testing to do at this point. First of all, that happens way earlier than two months before release and second, they are out in large parts of the rest of the world. -Gata But wasn't product testing their excuse to why they didn't release thornraxx and breez a couple years back in the US until summer?
  10. The reason the Overlord came into being in the first place is that in the world of Ninjago, light and darkness exist in equilibrium — thus, wherever there is light, there must also be darkness to balance it out. It's only natural that his defeat would not be permanent. Yes! Loving this whole balance concept that was introduced in the Stone Army story arch!

  12. I hate to be that one person, but... I can't bloody stand these. I was reluctant about chima, now this?!
  13. *Kiina happy dance* WOOoohoo I knew it was the overlord!
  14. I love these! He certainly has an interesting building style!
  15. I'm sorry, but Cuusoo just shot themselves in the foot. Some of the best, most intriguing projects subscribed to those categories, and it's a shame to see them out ruled. Honestly, I don't tend to care for the "one moc only" ideas that they usually accept, so this is kind of disappointing.
  16. Ok. It's flat out guessing time. I'm guessing that it's been a few years since we last saw the ninja and ninjago city has been modernized. There is a genius programmer/engineer named cyrus borg who created borg industries; a tech company. Unfortunately, I'm betting that the overlord slipped into their system a la Makuta and is controlling the robots internally, also Cyrus Borg and Sensei Wu will both, at some point be possessed by the overlord.
  17. TBH, I'm not quite as thrilled as I was in previous years. Probably because of the non-traditional Japanese look of this season.
  18. They look nice! BTW, does anyone know how they got the cheese slopes on the ghast upside down?
  19. By Mata Nui... Cryoshell's got nothing on this stuff!
