  5. Hi, guys. It’s been 5 years since Bionicle G2 happened in 2015. I know that Bionicle is not there now and G2 cruelly got ended in 2016, but let’s be happy for the 5th anniversary of G2. To begin with, in 2014, at New York Comic Con in early October, Bionicle’s return was announced, but Bionicle came as a reboot (don’t leave G1’s unfinished story hanging). Of course, Bionicle was first cancelled in 2010, but we were extremely happy that Bionicle came back! Hero Factory disappeared in 2014 when it happened. G2 is a reboot of Bionicle, like The Amazing Spider-Man movie series in 2012-2014, where six magical and bio-mechanical heroes called Toa, who are versions of the Toa Mata from G1, saving the island of Okoto (it looks like the island of Mata Nui) from a villain named Makuta (a version of Makuta Teridax, but without the “The”) and his evil forces. They have to collect masks to do this, and they seek help from a dwarf-sized guy named Ekimu and other inhabitants. G2 lasted in 2 years rather than at least 3, sadly, so the story is short. There is the 2015 storyline and the 2016 storyline. Here are how the first and second yearly storylines happened: It all started in thousands of years ago, when Ekimu and Makuta are Mask Makers who make magical masks called the Masks of Power (G2’s own Kanohi) for Okoto’s people by using the island’s six elemental forces, Fire, Water, Jungle, Ice, Stone, and Earth. Ekimu’s masks are more treasured than Makuta’s, which made Makuta jealous, so Makuta turned evil. There was a sacred law that now Mask should have more than element, otherwise it would be dangerous, but Makuta broke the law by creating a mask called the Mask of Ultimate Power, the most powerful of all masks, and it contained all six elements. When he put it on, it took control over him and was destroying the island. Ekimu stopped him by knocking the Mask from Makuta’s face, but this kind of ruined the island and put Ekimu to a coma. Makuta disappeared, and the Mask Makers’ masks are scattered. Ekimu’s friends called the Protectors found Ekimu, who whispered the Prophecy of Heroes during his sleep, and then they put Ekimu’s body in a tomb. The masks have to be found. In 2015, in the present, the island is attacked by Skull Spiders, which are searching for the Golden Masks of Power. The Protectors’ latest descendants (their people can reproduce, like Agori) used the Mask of Time, which can see the future and was how Ekimu came up with the prophecy, in the Temple of Time to summon the Toa. The Toa came to Okoto like meteors, as each landed on one of six regions of Okoto that matches his or her element. They are called Masters in 2015. They are Tahu, the Master of Fire, Gali, the Master of Water, Lewa Jungle (rather than Air for some reason, but I can see that he went to the jungle region of Okoto, and it’s reasonable for the younger audience to see things, but it’s weird), Kopaka Ice, Pohatu Stone, and Onua Earth. When the Toa arrived, they couldn’t remember who they are. Each of the Toa meets the region’s Protector, who guides the Toa and leads it to its Golden Mask of Power hidden in a temple. The Toa got their Golden Masks and defeated the Skull Spiders while saving the Protectors’ lives from the spiders. They went to the City of the Mask Makers, where they must reawaken Ekimu. They saw each other for the first time. They fought some other Skull villains, which are the Lord of Skull Spiders, the leader of the Skull Spiders, Skull Warriors, Skull Slicer, and Skull Scorpios, while they learn to work together to be able to defeat their enemies. They found and reawakened Ekimu, who warns them that the Skull villains’ leader, Kulta the Skull Grinder, who is the main antagonist of the 2015 storyline, is going to destroy Ekimu’s mask called the Mask of Creation at his forge. The Toa rush to the forge to stop Kulta, defeating Skull Basher along the way, but Kukta uses the mask to become stronger in order to defeat the Toa and Ekimu. The Toa got weakened by Kulta, but Ekimu rebuilt his powerful hammer and then used to knock the mask from Kulta’s face and defeated him. Ekimu reclaimed the mask. The end of the storyline. This is primarily told through the 2015 online animations and a chapter book. Plus, a graphic novel to make things more specific. Before the 2016 storyline began, the Protectors fought more Skull villains. Then, the Toa and Ekimu fought Kulta again when he has more of his friends called the Skull Raiders to help him. This is told through two chapter books. In the 2016 storyline, the Toa became Uniters by getting new armor, masks, and weapons. The armor helps them control their powers better. Since the masks tell the Toa that there are the six Elemental Creatures needing help from getting captured by Umarak the Hunter and his robotic servants called Shadow Traps, and get the Golden Masks of Unity. Each Toa goes to its region to meet its Elemental Creature. The Creature challenges the Toa until the Toa figures that the Toa and Elemental Creature must work together. The Creature lets the Toa get the Mask. Then, the Toa is able to combine with the Creature by having the Creature attach to the Toa back, like a piggy back ride. The Toa learn from the Creatures telepathically that there is a maze that has Makuta’s mask called the Mask of Control (like in 2008 where the Av-Matoran can combine with the Toa Nuva by attaching their themselves to the Toa’s backs and then sharing their memories with the Toa). The Toa and Elemental Creatures went to find the maze, and then went inside it to find the mask. However, Umarak is in their tail and then took the mask from them because Makuta told him to. Makuta forces Umarak to be his servant by using the mask to turn Umarak into a bigger, more powerful and obedient monster called the Destroyer. Umarak unleashed Elemental Beasts to attack the city, so he can get the shattered pieces of the Mask of Ultimate Power (Ekimu shattered the Mask when he knocked the Mask from Makuta’s face. The mask’s power was too much for it, so it got shattered and then caused Ekimu’s coma. There is a flashback where Ekimu created the Toa’s Golden Masks with the help of the Protectors and Elemental Creatures because of the Prophecy, and Makuta was present the mask in Okoto’s Capital City before he put it on. This is shown in the second graphic novel). When the Uniters were protecting Ekimu’s city, he turned into a Toa of Light and has a seventh Elemental Creature named Agil to be his partner. The city’s people and the Uniters’ Elemental Creatures defend the city while the seven Toa go to find Umarak. They found Umarak in a crater where the incident with the Mask of Ultimate Power happened. They tried to defeat Umarak, but he’s too tough and smart. He is using the mask’s fragments to free Makuta from the Shadow Realm (when the Mask was shattered, it also tore a portal to the Shadow Realm that trapped Makuta and the Capital City in the Shadow Realm). Ekimu changed back while Agil disappeared for some reason during the battle. Gali accidentally had her soul sucked up by the portal. In the Shadow Realm, she learned the rest of the prophecy. When Umarak absorbed Ekimu’s powerful Light blast during Umarak’s ritual with the mask’s fragments and then Makuta cruelly sacrificed Umarak’s life to open the portal, Gali’s soul was able to come back and then went back to her body. She told the Toa that they must use their powers from within to trap Makuta again. Makuta tried to blast the Toa with a Shadow blast, but the Toa resisted it with their powers and then used them to defeat Makuta by pushing him back to the Shadow Realm and closed the portal to imprison him again. This caused the Toa to go back to the Elemental Stars for some reason (why not stay in Okoto like normal people?). However, they can come back when they are needed again. The End of the storyline. In fact, the end of G2. The storyline is told through a Netflix show called The Journey to One in 2016. Now, that’s the story. Let’s talk about the sets. The sets have CCBS (the system that Hero Factory introduced in 2011) and transparent pieces with various colors to represent energies coming from them. Most of them have gear functions, like the Toa Mata and Toa Nuva. They introduced masks with two things that attach to the cheek bones. The sets are bulky with a lot of parts and were expensive. Most of them came in hexagonal boxes. In 2015, the Masters have weapons that have two functions, one for fighting and one for travel, like the Toa Nuva. The Protectors introduced and use machine guns that shoot six studs. You can put the Protectors’ equipment on the Toa to “power the Toa up”. The Skull Spiders can be worn like masks. In 2016, you can combine the Elemental Creatures with either the Toa or Umarak by putting them on their hosts’ backs. Other sets have various functions, including tools that can remove masks from wearers. The sets borrowed a few stuff from Hero Factory and Ninjago. There is a lot more purple than in G1. There are combiner models, but they are not canon. Plus, there’s no combiner models for the Toa Mata’s fusions in G2, neither did the fusion appear in G2 for some reason. However, you can combine Onua Uniter and Umarak the Hunter to make a Shadow Spawn. You can also combine some sets to form Makuta. Speaking of Makuta, sadly, Makuta doesn’t have a set, and the Lego piece for the Mask of Ultimate Power doesn’t exist. There are two app games, Mask of Creation and Mask of Control. I’ve seen better games than these games. G2 is very different from G1 in many ways, but it’s classic that there is the Toa Mata as the main protagonist and Makuta as the main antagonist. There are some references to G1’s stuff. It’s nostalgia. There are various media, which largely involved artwork through Facebook. Now, how do I feel about G2. Well, I think it’s alright. I didn’t like the fact that it lasted 2 years (and I hate the fact that constraction is gone since 2018, and there is not replacement or Hero Factory G2), and the 2015 online animations and Netflix show are kind of wonky and rushed. The story is too simple, is the least good constraction theme, and there are a lot of questionable stuff hanging around. I kind of felt that G2 isn’t what Bionicle is naturally. It sort of feels like a stereotypical Saturday morning cartoon. I like the Toa, Ekimu, Makuta, and Umarak, though. Good thing that G2 has some G1 references. The sets are very great, though, and I love the use of colors for most of them sort of. However, some of them, like the Skull Creatures and the Elemental Beasts, are kind of wonky, and there are weird relationships between colors and story. The Toa Masters’ gear functions aren’t strong enough, like the Toa Mata. Some of them are unequal to each other, like Toa having their own rivals and infected masks. There’s no other G1 characters, either. Just people that we don’t know. To be honest, I like G1 a lot better than G2 because there are a lot of reasonable stuff in there. People say that classics are better. No doubt. Even though that G2 ended (that is extremely not fair because it just came back), many of the pieces introduced in there are used in other themes nowadays. I pray and wish that Bionicle comes back again (perhaps on 2021 to celebrate Bionicle’s 20th anniversary). Anyway, so, how do you feel about G2? What’s your favorite moment or set? What medium or media remind you of Bionicle G2? Whatever you like to think of. For me, I love Onua, Tahu, Umarak, and Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder. Happy 5th anniversary, G2! I collected all of the sets. The things that remind me are: Bionicle G1 - obviously. Lol. Hero Factory - the use of CCBS. Plus, the Elemental Beasts look like Aquagon and giant Jumper beasts. Umarak the Hunter looks like Black Phantom. Skull Basher reminds me of Pyrox. The Skull Spiders are kind of like the Arachnix Drone. The Quake Beasts are like Bruizer. Ninjago - skeletal villains, brothers having a feud, heroes with elemental powers, and a dark and shape-shifting lord who is in a dark realm. P.I.X.A.L.’s Samurai X mask in 2017 looks kind of like the Mask of Creation. Skull Slicer is sort of like Samukai. Ekimu is like Sensei Wu. The Amazing Spider-Man movie series in 2012-2014 - there are a lot of similarities. I have a list of them: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/25567-bionicle-g2-the-amazing-spider-man-movies/ Transformers - recently, while the heroes retain their classic looks, they look modernized and cooler. Plus, they look more realistic and reasonable. Ekimu’s and Makuta’s brother feud is sort of like Optimus Prime’s and Megatron’s feud. Umarak is sort of like Lockdown. Transformers: The Last Knight in 2017 - Megatron’s look reminds me of the Mask of Control. Marvel - the Toa are like the Avengers. Plus, Umarak the Destroyer is like the Abomination and Kurse. DC Comics - the Toa are like the Justice League, sort of. Plus, Umarak the Destroyer is like Doomsday. Samurai Jack’s Season 5 - the Scotsman has a machine gun that looks similar to the Protectors’ machine guns. Sonic Unleashed in 2008 - the Elemental Beasts’ faces look like Dark Gaia’s. Steven Universe Future - Steven Universe’s giant monster form reminds me of Umarak the Destroyer. In the main series, when Jasper turned into a big and corrupted monster, she looked kind of like Umarak the Destroyer. Power Miners - Umarak the Destroyer and the Elemental Beasts reminds me of the Rock Monsters and Lava Monsters. Plus, Jasper’s corrupted monster form reminds me of Umarak the Destroyer. Star Wars - Skull Slicer kind of reminds me of General Grievous. The Skull Warriors are kind of like the Stormtroopers. For how the Skull Grinder’s Mask is animated in the online animations, it looks like Darth Vader’s mask. The Lord of the Rings - the Lord of Skull Spiders is like of like those giant spiders. Skull Basher concept art makes him look kind of like an Orc. When the Skull Grinder wore the Mask of Creation and then hit all six Toa with one hit, he’s like Sauron. Toy Story - For how the Skull Grinder’s Mask is animated in the online animations, it reminds me of Zurg. Lego Legends of Chima - Using some pieces is one thing. The Elemental Creatures’ heads also look like the Eagle heads. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - the Turtles are like the Toa, Master Splinter is like Ekimu, and Makuta has claws on his left wrist that looks kind of like the Shredder’s. Ultimate Spider-Man TV show - Doctor Octopus is sort of like Makuta when he mutates someone and then turns him into his obedient servant.
  6. Welp, I actually did it. I finally managed to do the Toa Mata as human beings! Gali Mata Lewa Mata Kopaka Mata Pohatu Mata Onua Mata Tahu Mata I'm glad of how they all turned out! I might do the left hand and right hand Matoran and maybe the Metrutoran soon, thank you for participating!
  7. I've been slowly rebuilding my BIONICLE sets. It's a project I've been working on for about 2 years, originally in celebration of Gen 2's announcement. Today, after a slow and distracted process, I've completed rebuilding my current 2001 collection. The Manas are on another shelf in my room, but I can't figure out how to post more than two images via my iPad. The only sets I am missing are the Nui Jaga and Muaka & Kane-Ra plus four of the Mctoran. Those sets will hopefully soon be mine! They are at the top of my Christmas list this year, so yeah! I also finished rebuilding my 2010 sets, and my first half 2002 sets. I've also been thinking about starting a YouTube series, mostly reminiscing over gen one, and reviewing the sets from each year. I'd like to do more with it then just that though, so any suggestions would be nice. How's everyone else doing?
  8. I have been watching the old character videos from 2001, and continue to be impressed with how they hold up even today. Does anyone have information on what technology they used? I know it's outdated today, but it would be interesting to know what their equipment limits were/how many people it took to animate. Just for funsies. And also, as a side note, wouldn't it be cool if the movies had been made in a set accurate style like the animations? That would be a cool project in 2020!
  9. The only ones I can really think of is how much Mr. Makuro bears a strong resemblance to Turaga Matau, his mask specifically. Another one is the Bohrok (I wonder what it's even called; an eyepiece?) part in the Furno bike. Does anybody know anything else, I'm really interested in hearing more about these discoveries!?
  10. Hi, guys! I see that constraction is gone this year. No sign of them in toy fair this year, either. You know, in this decade, constraction was getting weaker and weaker until it’s gone this year. It’s shocking to look at it this way. I bet constraction are complaining about it right now. Why does constraction deserve this terrible fate? Lego shouldn’t have done this. I think Lego is so busy with other Lego themes and has budget issues while Ninjago, The Lego Movies, Star Wars, and the Super Hero themes are popular. First, Bionicle G1 is gone, then Hero Factory, and lastly Bionicle G2. There’s no replacement for Bionicle G2, and their stories are unfinished. This is a cruel world we all live in now. (Crying in tears of sadness) To be honest, without constraction, I don’t know what to buy from Lego. I felt like that I have no great purpose in my life that makes me happy (Ninjago is something that I follow though, even though that I am more of a constraction person than a playset person, to be honest, but I like the TV show). We are in a dark age/Great Depression, y’all. I hope that Lego will bring the constraction category back somehow. Bionicle deserves a lot more praise and respect because it is one of Lego’s most popular themes in history and it saved Lego from babkruptcy when it began. Hero Factory is an okay theme, but I feel it could have potential, like Bionicle, and needed some improvement to fix things up. I hope that Lego could satisfy the fans by bringing back Bionicle G1 a little bit just to finish up the G1 story to resolve its unresolved stuff. Same goes to HF and Bionicle G2. Plus, a good Bionicle G3, HF G2, a Sonic Generations-equse crossover with Bionicle G1 and G2, a Bionicle and Hero Factory crossover and cinematic universe-equse theme in terms of story, good TV shows that are like Ninjago (like have 10-13 TV episodes per season while the season is based on a storyline), but be more accurate to the sets and have 3D animation be good 3D animation in the style of Transformers: Prime), either good 3D animated theatrical movies or theatrical live-action movies with humans and the planet Earth as the constraction themes’ own cinematic universe (in the more child-friendly style of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not the wacky The Lego Movies), and good TT Games Lego video games with console versions (in the style of the Super Heroes games, not The Lego Movie 2). I mean, I think the constraction deserve to have these good stuff. I feel that they have that potential. So, what do you think, guys? Man, I need these themes back in my life.
  11. What do you guy thinks about the knockoffs? Personally I think many knockoffs of gen 1 are actually pretty well made. The issues I see are the higher probability of getting pieces in bad condition, and the fact that the pins and axle usually don't fit well with neither the knockoff or the original pieces. On the other hand, the Hero Factory and gen 2 knockoffs are really bad. Besides the issues I said before, the plastic is really cheap and weak and it's almost imposible to pose them. Here's a video where I tell the diference that I have found between fake and real Bionicle pieces. It's also in Spanish on my channel if someone of you speak Spanish.
  12. Hi, guys! This year, 2020, is the 15th anniversary of Bionicle’s 2005 storyline. It takes place right after the events of the 2004 storyline and long before the 2001 storyline. After the Toa Metru defeated Makuta in the 2004 storyline, they went to rescue Matoran, who were imprisoned in Matoran Spheres by Makuta, but they got captured by Visorak, which turned them into monsters called Toa Hordika. Aided by the Rahaga, the Toa Hordika went to fight the Visorak and find a cure to their mutations. This storyline also explains how Makuta got out of his Toa Seal prison, how the Vahi was found from the sea in the past storyline, how the Mask of Light was found and kept in the island of Mata Nui, and how and why Nuju speak bird Rahi. I would love to have us celebrate this storyline’s 15th anniversary when I explain what it is about. The storyline is where Vakama was continuing telling the Toa Nuva and the Matoran of Mata Nui the story of him and his fellow Turaga as the Toa Metru. The storyline takes place after the Toa Metru defeated Makuta by imprisoning him in a Toa Seal at the end of the 2004 storyline. They discovered the island of Mata Nui, but they had to go back to Metru Nui to rescue Matoran, who were imprisoned in Matoran Spheres by Makuta. They first had to deal with a prototype of the Morbuzakh called the Karzahni, who was created Makuta long ago, but was rejected because the Karzahni was too powerful and willful, and wanted to have Energized Protodermis. After the Toa went through a perilous journey to get a little bit of the substance and then gave it to the plant, he tried to use it to get rid of the expiration date that Makuta gave him, but he was destined to be destroyed. Before he completely died, he told the Toa about Metru Nui changing and Makuta has to be killed. When the Toa arrived in Metru Nui, they discovered that the city was ruined and dominated by Visorak, which are an evil species of various giant spider Rahi with four legs, large mandibles, and natural guns on their backs called Rhotuka Launchers, which shoot magical spinners called Rhotuka with various powers. The spiders are led by two Titan villains, Sidorak, the red-armored King of the Visorak Army, and Roodaka, the female, reptilian, and black-armored Viceroy of the army, who were allies of Makuta. Vakama became arrogant after Makuta’s defeat, and then the Visorak paralyzed and captured the Toa. The spiders imprisoned them in cocoons and then used their magical venom called Hordika Venom to turn them into creatures called the Toa Hordika, which were half-Toa, half-Rahi. The cocoons were clipped while hanging in the air with webs attached to the buildings, so the Toa fell, but a group of flying dwarf-sized creatures with Rahkshi-like heads called the Rahaga saved them. The Toa were freaked out about their mutations, and one of the Toa, Matau, blamed Vakama for this. The Rahaga explained the Toa about what happened to them and a legendary Rahi named Keetongu being able to cure them of their mutations, otherwise if they couldn’t find him in time, they would be stuck being freaks forever. The Toa and Rahaga went to find some stuff that they could use to make Airships that could carry the Matoran to Mata Nui first. They had many adventures along the way, as they fought against the Visorak and rampaging Rahi, some are mutated. A shape-shifting Rahi from the 2004 storyline, who looked like a mix of all six Toa Metru and was forced by Roodaka to help her fight the Toa, came to help the Toa instead a little bit because she actually hates the Visorak for what they had done to her kind, which made her the last of her kind. The Rahaga taught the Toa on how to control their new forms and use their Rhotuka Launchers, which shoot Rhotuka that were based on their elemental powers. Their primary weapons that they are holding with their hands could charge up their Rhotuka. They couldn’t use their masks’ powers in their new forms, and these new forms had animalistic impulses, which made the Toa angry and impatient. The Rahaga were trying to tell the Toa to resist those impulses, which were hard to do. The Rahaga were once a Toa team called the Toa Hagah, who used to work for Makuta long ago. There were other Toa Hagah for other members of Makuta’s evil brotherhood that he led called the Brotherhood of Makuta, which were members of his species called Makuta. These guys were called the Makuta or some place in the Matoran Universe, as in titles, because they were assigned to watch over people in these places. Makuta, the villain that the Toa Metru fought, was called the Makuta of Metru Nui. The Makuta species have real names, so the leader’s real name was unknown. His Toa Hagah went rogue, defeated him in a fight, and ran away from him. They stole a magical mask called the Mask of Light from the late 2003 storyline. However, they got mutated by Roodaka long ago, but they kept the Mask. They hid it in Metru Nui, and then had the Toa Hordika get the Makoki Stones to get the Mask. One of the Toa Hordika, Onewa, encased the Mask in a stone. Vakama was so pressured about his guilt for his team being mutated that he went alone. He got captured by Visorak and then was taken by them to Roodaka. Roodaka tampered with Vakama’s animalistic side to convince him to join the Visorak army, so Vakama agreed to help the army. Vakama wasn’t acting like himself. Sidorak had Vakama be a new leader for the army. The other Toa Hordika and one of the Rahaga names Norik, who is the leader of the Rahaga, were shocked to witness this when Vakama captured the other Rahaga. They went to find Keetongu in Metru Nui. They found him hiding. He is very intelligent, like the shape-shifting Rahi. He didn’t want to cure the Toa because he didn’t think that they were worthy, but he did want to help the Toa fight the Visorak. The Toa, Norik, and Keetongu went to the Coliseum to fight the Visorak. The Toa were fighting against a large army of Visorak while Norik went to rescue his fellow Rahaga and Keetongu went to fight Sidorak and Roodaka. Matau went to find Vakama. They fought each other, but Matau apologized to Vakama for his criticisms and reminded him of the Matoran, so Vakama came to his senses. Vakama rejoined the Toa while he had a plan that could help the Toa defeat the army. Roodaka cruelly betrayed Sidorak while Sidorak knew that he couldn’t defeat Keetongu alone, but Keetongu smashed Sidorak on the head, killing him. Roodaka became the new queen of the Visorak and then got the Toa surrender. Vakama showed up and then tricked the Visorak into being free, so the Visorak leave the city. All the Toa except Vakama shot Rhotuka at Roodaka, but Roodaka had a piece of the Makuta of Metru Nui’s Toa Seal on her chest, so she let them hit it. When Vakama was preparing to fire his Rhotuka, Norik knew that if all six elements hit the piece, it could free Makuta, so he tried to warn Vakama not to do it, but it was too late because Vakama did it, anyway. When all six elements hit the piece, that freed Makuta, but hurt Roodaka so much that she fell unconscious. Makuta used his shadow powers to save her and then teleported her to safety, leaving only the piece behind. The Toa picked up the stone, keeping it as the Makuta Stone that they, as Turaga, would use as a way to tell the story about Makuta putting the Great Spirit Mata Nui to sleep. The heroes were worried about the Makuta, but Keetongu looked at the Toa as worthy to be cured because of their heroism, so he cured them back to their Toa Metru forms. After the whole ordeal of being a Toa Hordika, one of the Metru Nui named Nuju decided to speak flying Rahi because he doesn’t want to forget about the fall of Metru Nui and the Toa Metru’s arrogance, unless there is someone worth hearing or for emergencies or times of joy. That’s why he has this habit when he is a Turaga in the island of Mata Nui in 2001 (he did that in the Mata Nui Online Game in 2001). When the Toa brought the Matoran to the island of Mata Nui, Vakama thought about the Vahi, so he told his friends that he had to go get the mask alone. Karzahni revived himself by using his remaining king root to grow back. When Vakama found the mask, it was cracked and leaking super-dangerous Time energy that could destroy the Matoran Universe, so he had to patch it up to prevent the disaster from happening. Makuta was also looking for the mask, and he had Karzahni to help him get it, but had to fight against Keetongu, who got in the way, first. Keetongu is powerful enough to hold Makuta off, but Makuta ran away from him. He and Vakama found each other, but they also encountered an evil guy named the Shadowed One, who is the leader of the Dark Hunters. TSO was looking for Nidhiki and Krekka from the 2004 storyline, but found out that Makuta ate them, so he decided to fight Makuta and Vakama and get the Rahi from them. TSO brought some fellows with him, such as his bodyguard named Sentrakh and servant named Voporak, who was a hulking, powerful and mutated member of Sidorak’s species with time-based powers who could track down the Vahi. Voporak led TSO and their cronies to the mask in the first place. Vakama and Makuta had to work together to fight the Dark Hunters, and they won and defeated them. Karzahni got destroyed when its king root got destroyed by Makuta during the battle. TSO declared war on the Brotherhood of Makuta for all of this. Makuta tried to get the mask from Vakama, but Vakama stopped him by convincing him that he would destroy the Vahi if Makuta gets closer to it, so both of them agreed that Makuta would leave Vakama and his people alone for a year. Makuta teleported Vakama back to Mata Nui. That’s where the Toa Metru became Turaga in the 2004 storyline, and then Makuta attacked them and their people on the island with his infected Rahi in the 2001 storyline. The Toa Metru accidentally left behind a Matoran Sphere that contained Ahkmou, and when Makuta noticed it, he opened the sphere up, and then told to Ahkmou everything about the history of Metru Nui and lied to him that the Toa Metru betrayed and abandoned Ahkmou, so Ahkmou became Makuta’s new evil ally. That’s how Ahkmou caused problems in the island of Mata Nui in the Mata Nui Online Game in 2001. In the present, when Vakama finished telling his stories of the Toa Metru, their people moved back to Metru Nui and started rebuilding it. The End of the 2005 storyline. In fact, The End of the whole Metru Nui story arc (2004-2005). That’s the story. Now for the sets: Basically, all sets shoot spinners called Rhotuka, which have various magical powers. Each of the sets has a rip cord and a gun called a Rhotuka Launcher, and after you put the rip cord in the Launcher and the Rhotuka on top of the Launcher, you pull the rip cord out quickly, which can make the Rhotuka fly. For the medium-sized sets, there are the Toa Hordika and the Visorak, which are in canisters. The Toa Hordika look like hunchbacked and monstrous versions of the Toa Metru while their masks look like animals’ faces. They have uneven arms, as the right arm can bend with gears while the left arm is simply a Toa Mata leg piece from 2001. The right arm is also longer than the left. They have new foot pieces, bent-looking forelegs, torso pieces that have Rhotuka Launchers on the back, chest armor pieces, and the neck pieces. The neck pieces attach the mask and Bohrok eyes from 2002 to form the head. Each Toa Hordika have two dual-colored and flexible weapons, which can charge up their Rhotuka. The Toa look cool, even thought that the unevenness and bent-looking bodies look kind of weird on them. The Visorak are big spiders that have Rhotuka Launchers on their backs. They have huge and various heads and mandibles. They also have various legs and introduced long thigh pieces. You sneeze the body to make the mandibles pinch. They have Bohrok eyes. They look kind of cute. The small sets are the Rahaga, who look like Turaga-like versions of Rahkshi, as their heads and staffs look like Rahkshi’s. They have Rhotuka Launchers on their backs, too. They look cute. There are two special edition canister sets called the Toa Hagah, which are the original Toa forms of two of the Rahaga, Norik and Iruini. They look like Toa Metru and Toa Lhikan, but they use extra armor, spears, and Rhotuka Launching Shields that shoot Rhotuka and contain extra Rhotuka. They also have new masks. Originally, they were going to be Toa Dume and Toa Nidhiki, respectively, but they didn’t happen, so we wouldn’t see what these Toa look like. But, it does explain why Iruini’s mask is shaped like Nidhiki’s Dark Hunter head and Norik’s mask looks like Dume’s. Anyway, the Toa Hagah look very cool with their weapons and their gold and silver armor. Too bad that we don’t see what the other Rahaga look like as Toa Hagah. Now, for the Titans. There are three of them, and they are Sidorak, Roodaka, and Keetongu. Sidorak is the red and black guy with the ram-like head who has a clawed right hand with a Rhotuka Launcher in it and a blade on his left arm. The blade juts out for battle while his claws contain his Rhotuka for storage. Roodaka is a female black and silver reptilian lady who looks feminine who has a Rhotuka Launcher on her right arm and a weapon called the Catcher Claw on her left. The Catcher Claw can spin around. Keetongu is a one-eyed yellow and bulky Rahi who has a Bohrok head shell on his head who has a blade on his arm and a spinning weapon similar to Roodaka’s on the other, which with shield pieces rather than claws. You can open his chest to reveal his Rhotuka Launcher in there. The titans look cool, but they have uneven-looking arms that don’t have actual hands. There is a combo Titan set that is a mix of all three of the titans, and that is Voporak. He’s a big and bulky guy with four arms, and he carried two spinning weapons similar to Roodaka’s and Keetongu’s and a Rhotuka Launcher. This guy is awesome, and I like his design. However, his double-jointed upper arms look kind of weird, and his lower arms don’t have hands. The Rhotuka are used to show codes for you to use to unlock some stuff in the Bionicle website. There is also an extra Rhotuka pack. The Launchers and Rhotuka are cool, and the Launchers can shoot them and the spinners fly very high. I believe you may need better storage for the spinners, though. There is also four Lego system playsets in 2005. I’m not a playset fan, to be honest, but they look very cool. I like the elite Visorak in them, and it is interesting that there is one that has a golden version of Makuta’s Mask of Shadows for a head while there is one that is bulkier than a normal Visorak set. The glow-in-the-dark Visorak are cool. I like the giant mask pieces that shoot Rhotuka, and they’re so big that you can wear them. Lol. The Toa Hordika look silly, though. I mean, they are one-piece statues that don’t pose. Now for the combo sets. We have a lot of them. There is one for each three of the Rahaga, each two of the Toa Hordika, three of the Toa Hordika, two of the Visorak, three, and all six. All of them are Rahi, but the one with the blue and white Visorak is an elite kind of Visorak while the one with Vakama, Matau, and Whenua is a monster called a Protocrain that is made of Matoran who got combined by the Energized Protodermis in the story. There are three combiners for the titans, which are one for Keetongu and Sidorak named Sentrakh, one for Keetongu and Roodaka called the Shadowed One, and of course Voporak. Sentrakh is a Dark Hunter who serves as the Shadowed One’s bodyguard. The combiners in general look decent, but some of them are weird because of their uneven parts on here and there. I wish there are a combiner for all six Toa Hordika and one for Roodaka and Sidorak. Now, for the media. The storyline is told by many things. There are six comic issues, which tell the Toa Hordika’s quest to build the Airships, and there is one that was never published completely. There is the third direct-to-video movie called Bionicle 3: Web of Shadows in October 2005. There are six online animations that tell the Toa Hordika’s quest for the Mask of Light, four to five chapter books called Bionicle Adventures (if you count Maze of Shadows), a guide book called Rahi Beasts, where it shows Rahi of any kind, including the ones from a Lego-building contest in 2004, and the Bionicle Encyclopedia, where it tells the story of how Nidhiki turned from Toa to Dark Hunter. The Dark Hunters convinced him to betray his team, he joined the Dark Hunters, he trained and was partnered with Krekka, and Roodaka turned Nidhiki into an insect-like monster. This also presents Zamor Launchers, which were the main guns in the 2006 storyline, as the books and the sixth comic issue previews that storyline. There are two music videos and several non-canon online games. There was also a contest to build a Toa named Krakua, who is a Toa of Sonics from the future who told Toa Vakama through a vision given by a creature in the tenth chapter about what would happen in the future, including the Toa Inika from the 2006 storyline. That’s foreshadowing. The comics and books are good. The movie is also good, but it’s not the best because I am kind of not fond of how the Toa Hordika and Rahaga were animated, and I don’t like Vakama’s behavioral issues, how Sidorak was scared of Keetongu, and the Toa Hordika freed Makuta. It felt sort of rushed. I am also sad that there were not any more Miramax films after this (but we did get Bionicle: The Legend Reborn in 2009, but it was made by a different company. I wish there are films for the 2006, 2007, and 2008 storylines, as well as 2001, 2002, and early 2003). Of course, there is a handheld role play video game called Bionicle: Maze of Shadows, where the Toa Metru’s adventure to get some Energized Protodermis is told. There was also a contest for Dark Hunters. Now, for the story. Well, it’s okay, but not the best, and the sets in there weren’t the best either. I mean, the Rhotuka Launchers did make some things complicated. I am not fond of how Vakama betrayed his team, Sidorak acting like a whiny baby, and the Toa Hordika freeing Makuta. I mean, they unleashed the madman who will take over the world. It’s their fault. Plus, the Dark Hunters should have had a larger role in this, like Roodaka hiring them to get the Toa Hordika. It’s interesting that Roodaka admires Makuta, even though that he doesn’t socialize with her often. Some of the 2005 pieces were used in the later storylines, like Umbra in 2006 using a Rhotuka Launcher. So, how would you celebrate the storyline’s 15th anniversary? What are your best moments and memories for the storyline? What are your favorite sets and characters? What medium reminds you of the storyline? Well, I could watch the movie again and read some of the Bionicle stuff. I do like the movie, comics and chapter books the most. My favorite characters are Vakama, Matau, Norik, Sidorak, and Keetongu. Matau is funny as always. My favorite sets are Whenua (the Thumpers are cool), the red Visorak, Keetongu, and Voporak. The things in the media that remind me of the storyline are: DC Comics - villains playing with animal-based mutations. Roodaka is like Harley Quinn while the Joker is like Makuta, who doesn’t socialize with her often, despite her dedication, servitude, and admiration for him Marvel - villains playing with animal-based mutations. Mystique is like Roodaka while Magneto is like Makuta. The Visorak are like monster counterparts to Spider-Man. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - villains playing with animal-based mutations. Transformers - In Transformers: Animated, there is a Decepticon called Blackarchnia, who was once an Autobot named Elita One who got mutated by giant alien spiders to became a twisted monster. Ninjago - Ninja fighting giant spiders. Plus, there are spinner sets that fly. Harumi is like Roodaka while Garmadon is like Makuta. In one episode in Season 9, how the Oni Titan sits is like Keetongu in Webs of Shadows Legends of Chima - big spiders. Hero Factory - the Brains are kind of like the Visorak because they look kind of like spiders and how they mutate their victims. Bionicle 2015-2016 - the Skull Spiders are kind of like the Visorak. Sonic the Hedgehog - Amy is like Roodaka and Sonic is like Makuta for how Amy tries to show her admiration to Sonic, but Sonic is not interested, despite Amy showing her dedication and loyalty to Sonic. Ben 10 - Dr. Animo likes to play with animal-based mutations. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy - there is a TV movie where there are giant spiders invading a school. Thor: Ragnarok - Hela is sort of like Roodaka. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith - Anakin is like Vakama when he was manipulated by a conniving and selfish villain to become evil.
  13. I was wondering why do Ta-matorans in Ta-metru make mask? Because they cant use their power. I know that without them they would die, but why do they make more? Or is it for replacement if someone's mask brokes?
  14. I had to shrink these down to fit BZP's 500 kb limit. To see higher-res versions of these pages and more, simply visit the DA gallery. https://nickinamerica.deviantart.com/gallery/64101494/The-Toa-A-Bionicle-retelling Please also consider checking out Planet Ripple, my original series. And now, read on gathered friends. Before anyone asks about Nova Orbis.... Trust me, I will get back to that someday. But every time I've tried to get back into it lately, I've just given myself a headache and gotten overwhelmed. Keep in mind, I'm also working on Planet Ripple every day that I can, so I'll be lucky to finish a page of this per day on top of that. But I wanted to give people here something simple and refreshing that I could update regularly, so here it is. "The Toa" as I'm calling it, is going to be a simple retelling of the original story, mostly focused on 2001 but referencing some other things. It's not a simple recap of the Mata Nui Online Game's story, as you may've noticed already from some of the twists shown so far. The Toa Canisters actually do fall from space this time, there are boys and girls in all Matoran tribes (there's a female Ta-Matoran to the left in the panel where Vakama emerges from his hut), Tahu nearly dies landing directly on the island, and Takua doesn't have amnesia from falling on a beach. I have many other tweaks in store, and it's going to diverge more and more from the original story over time. Basically, if I had to take the BEST things about G1 and cram them into one simple, easy to follow, streamlined story that addresses many of the criticisms made over the years... this is how I'd do it. Rather, how I'm going to do it. So yeah... feedback is appreciated. I hope this first taste has people excited.
  15. hi i want to share you my 3D Project at school https://www.artstation.com/artwork/dO3vqW
  16. So I'm sure you've seen these around. Some group of people dubs the first few books and either stops, slows down in uploads, or is still going. Well this is another one of those projects. Don't want to listen to the first bionicle book again? I figured this, so while we are uploading videos on the first book, Tale of Toa, we're also uploading the Rahi Beasts guide. Now as far as I know, no one has done that one yet. Still not convinced? Well we've added official bionicle music to the background, along with sound effects. So chapter one opens up with that classic MNOG beach theme, while the introduction to the Rahi Beast's guide has the music from the Web of Shadow's movie playing along. I hope you all enjoy. I've linked the playlist here, if you enjoy these chapters, we'd love for you to subscribe to validate the time. Oh, we also have a good backlog of bionicle lore and summary videos.
  17. I'm currently working on a screenplay for what I hope will someday become a series of BIONICLE films. I've begun with Takua activating the Toa Stones and the arrival of the Toa Mata, but after researching a little more, I'm wondering if I should go back to The Great War with the Matoran's battles with the Rahi. I'd welcome any thoughts on this, as well as any concepts for my screenplay. Thanks, the Kohrakazi project
  18. Hi everyone. As you may know, the second graphic novel of G2 featured these mysterious words with the statues of the ancient Protectors. * Protector of Jungle: Jagiri = Agarak * Protector of Ice: Buzkayo = Uganu * Protector of Water: Bumonda = Owaki * Protector of Earth: Droton = Etoku * Protector of Stone: Rokreng = Kerato * Protector of Fire: Flammik = Mamuk The names on the far right are the names of the Protectors at the time of Makuta's betrayal. Another interesting note is that Pohatu then says, "Nilkuu, Protector of Stone, told me that the Protectors' elemental armor has been passed down through many generations. These statues honor the ancient Protectors from thousands of years ago!" My first thought that they were village names, but we know there are multiple villages per region. Based on what Pohatu says, I think one of these two options could be true: 1. They are the names of the Regions of Okoto. 2. They are the names of the Protectors that preceded the Protectors at the time of Makuta's betrayal. What do you guys think these words/phrases mean?
  19. What happens when you are builder was is sometimes known for building Bionicles, and often known for building boats? You get challenged to build a Bionicle boat, of course. Bionicle of the Caribbean by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Bionicle of the Caribbean by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr And of course, why make a boat and no one to sail it? Jack Sparrow by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr The more I look at Jack Sparrow, the less pleased I am with him. Certain aspects are fine, but others... Eh.... It's mostly the head. the Baze Malbus is actually a serviceable head, but hard to work around. Time to bail out! 20. Alrighty folks! This is my first time posting any of my work, so feedback is definitely welcome! (Review topic: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/28099-universe-of-the-cyclical-paradigm-review-topic/ ) This takes place after Spherus Magna is made whole again and Teridax in destroyed. You may notice a few things that initially seem to conflict with the established cannon, so I wanted to clarify a few things to preface the story. First, I see just about everything up til the end of Journey's End as cannon, but I don't pick up where any of the unfinished serials left off-so Kopaka and Pohatu did not go to the red star in my story. I might at some point use some ideas or characters introduced in those stories, but in reinvented ways. Second, this takes place in an alternate universe, so certain things might be different. So! Without further ado, The Universe of the Cyclical Paradigm: Chapter 1 Mata Nui was gone. After defeating Makuta Teridax and restoring Spherus Magna, after having freed his people, after completing his destiny, he was gone. He was not precisely dead, however. His consciousness came to rest in the Mask of Life, and after leaving his people one last message, he began a long, well deserved, peaceful rest. Toa Tahu stared into the empty eye holes of the Ignika, the Mask of Life, through which Mata Nui's eyes once saw out. The pedestal on which the mask now sat was housed inside of the massive metal cave that once formed the skull of the now shattered robot of the Great Desert, the titan of Bara Magna. Mata Nui's last great act was to simultaneously call upon the Ignika's powers of restoration and to release all of the remaining energy reserves powering the desert titan. The resulting explosion rocked the entire planet of Spherus Magna; however, this explosion left not death, but life in its wake. The Ignika had summoned all of its powers over regeneration, restoration, and creation-a whirlwind of energy swirling and crackling with beauty and white light in the core of the colossus. Thus, when Mata Nui overloaded the desert titan’s energy reserves, the resulting explosion carried the power of the Ignika with it, spreading the forces of that whirlwind across the battle scarred and broken planet. Tahu himself had been at the feet of the colossus when the explosion occurred; his entire being was bathed in the maelstrom of healing. He could feel his armor growing hot, his body beginning to smoke and sizzle within and without-but there was no pain. He felt all his battle wounds being restored, even the old scar he bore under his mask from his battle with the Rakshi Lehrak, a wound which not even the greatest healers of Ga-Koro could heal, slowly grow together to form undamaged tissue. The familiar light "clomp" of Turaga Vakama's staff on the floor pulled Tahu's mind back to the present-all sounds, big or small echoed all through the cavern, growing to a volume that somehow felt both deafening and faint. "The Cave of Memory is indeed a fitting name for this place, Turaga. Your wisdom again brings our people much good." Tahu did not look away from the eyes of the mask as he spoke to the old teacher and dear friend behind him. "I benefited much from the council of Raanu, for through the eyes of him and his people we may see Mata Nui anew." The wizened mentor placed a hand on his former pupil’s shoulder. Vakama remembered well the day he realized his destiny was complete as a Toa. "Tahu, I know the path you walk." Vakama wistfully gazed at his own gaunt hands and stumpy fingers, remembering the strong fists that once grappled with Makuta Teridax, forged the Great Kanohi Vahi, bent fire itself to his will, hands that had surrendered their power to save the lives of millions of Matoran long ago. Vakama’s spoke in a mere murmur as his eyes saw memories of battles from long ago. "It is a difficult thing to be in complete control of fire, to become one with the flames dancing at your command...To be asked to surrender that power, truly there is no greater test that a Toa can face." Tahu looked away from the mask, slowly rising from his knees as he addressed Vakama behind him. "Turaga, your words mean well, but what I am asked to do is more than you know." He slowly turned, sorrow in his eyes. "Toa Mata, Toa Nuva, Mistika, Phantoka. We have born many names over the ages, fought with new weapons and armour, but always with the same objective-protect Mata Nui. But in his hour of darkest, most desperate need, I could do nothing to aid him. Yes I fought Makuta's armies, but what did it matter? Even in the final battle the role I played was trivial at best." "Tahu, if you were not a Toa of Fire, I would say this desert heat has addled your mind. Must I remind you of how your instrumental defeat of the armies of Makuta's Rakshi gave Mata Nui the moment he needed to deal the final blow to Makuta?" Tahu was silent for a long time. He slowly turned to look back into the eyes of the Ignika. "The Golden Armour failed. Turaga, I was not the one who killed the Rakshi." Chapter 2 <<>>one month prior<<>> There is an enemy more savage than a Kanohi Dragon, more cunningly cruel as Ten Krom, quieter than Stone Rat, and more deadly than the Dreaming Plague. Panic. In a time nearly beyond Tahu's memory, Hydraxon had once said "If you find yourself impaled on a spear or feel a deadly poison coursing through your veins, you may yet survive; however, if you lose yourself to panic even in the safest of situations, I assure you that you will not live long enough to even understand what killed you." Right now, there was only one thing that kept Tahu safe from panic-purpose; namely, the Golden Armour. Takanuva and Gresh raced toward Tahu, each carrying two pieces of the Golden Armour. The words of the Ignika echoed in his ears: "I can create the armor, but be warned... it can be used but once, and there is no telling what its use will do to you." This was it. The moment for which Tahu was created. The leader of the Toa Mata, the elite bodyguards of Mata Nui, was to save his charge from this ancient foe, Makuta Teridax. Tahu, taking the armour from his companions, donned the powerful relics. As he felt the Golden Armour's power surge through him, the sound of the chaos of battle, the touch of the swirling sand, and the blistering heat all grew dim and distant. Tahu looked up and saw the surrounding armies of Makuta charging through the sand, and in that moment, it became clear-he knew what he must do. Tahu saw the battle unfold as it should: using the Golden Armour to kill the Rakshi: Makuta's distraction, the impact with Bota Magna, and the restoration of Spherus Magna. But as he readied himself, Tahu happened to glance at Makuta, and saw something in Makuta's eyes. It was a glint of green, just a quick flicker. For a quick second Tahu saw in Makuta the eyes of Lehrak-the Rakshi of poison who had destroyed his home, turned Tahu against his fellow Toa, and gave him the painful scar across his face. In that second, the meaning of the word Rakshi became all too clear: Sons of Makuta. Makuta. Makuta the betrayer, Makuta the destroyer, Makuta the murderer, Makuta the thief, Makuta the deceiver, Makuta the manipulator, Makuta the dictator, Makuta the possessor, Makuta the fate twister. Fate twister. What if Tahu's face had never been scarred? What if Tahu had never turned on the Toa Nuva? What if Tahu had led the Toa to guard the Herald of the Toa of Light? What if Tahu, the leader of the Toa... had been destined to become the Toa of Light? To wield light against the shadow, fire and light as glorious as the sun.... but Makuta sent Lehrak to prevent it. Tahu felt his scar throbbing, burning, pounding through his whole being, like acid coursing through his veins. He knew he wasn't thinking clearly, but he didn't care. His vision became unfocused, a sickly green glow creeping around the edges of his sight. He knew that this was the power of poison, that somehow his scar had power over him again, that Makuta was reinfecting him, that he must not give in to the poison. But he didn't care. All he wanted was revenge. Revenge for his scar, for all the Matoran killed by mutated Rahi, for the destruction caused by the Bohrok and the Barang, for the savagery of the Rakshi and the destruction of the island of Mata Nui, for all the Toa that had died before him, for Matoro, for the evil of this long, long war. The pain of Tahu's scar burned hotter and hotter, bore deeper and deeper-until one thought filled his mind: "I should be the one to kill Makuta." At first, the Golden Armour resisted Tahu, as if it knew that this was not what it was destined to do; however, Tahu forced it to his will, and unleashed all of the power of the armour in one massive shockwave aimed at Makuta Teridax. The energy roared through and out of the armour, the metal itself dissolving away from his body. Tahu watched the shockwave gather before him, felt the energy depart from his possession-and enter that of another. Some unknown presence took control of the energy and sent it flying away towards the Rakshi, obliterating the mightiest army of Makuta Teridax in one massive blow. The shock of such a loss distracted Makuta for one critical second. Mata Nui used this critical moment to grab the evil giant and shove him into the oncoming path of Bota Magna, a distant moon summoned by the battle between the two titans. Makuta was obliterated. Mata Nui was safe. But Tahu was filled with rage. He was robbed of his rightful place. Chapter 3 <<>>present day<<>> "The poison didn't leave me until The Restoration. Then, once my mind cleared, I realized what I had done." Tahu stared at the floor of the Sanctuary of Peace, unable to face his old mentor. "When the time came, when my destiny was to be fulfilled, I failed." Turaga Vakama stood in silence, his emotions not registering on his face. When he did speak, his old voice croaked. "And you feel that to become a Turaga would rob you of any opportunity to redeem yourself" he murmured. He again fell into silence, one hand behind his back, leaning heavily on his staff in a posture he often adopted while thinking. After a long silence, the wise Turaga looked into the warrior's eyes. "Tahu, I remember when you first came upon the shores of Mata Nui and stumbled into Ta-Koro. I have watched you and guided you through your whole journey, as a friend and a mentor." The hunched shoulders of the Turaga lurched and shook as he slowly began to cry and his voice began to crack with emotion. "But when I look at you now, all I can feel is my shame." The old leader, now openly weeping, dropped his staff, covering his face and sobbing into his hands. He fell to his knees, wracked with sorrow and guilt. Tahu stood watching his old teacher Vakama, turning his back on his beloved pupil. He slowly turned to the exit and beckoned Tahu to follow. "You must reclaim your honor, now." Tahu eagerly caught up to Vakama, relieved to have a direct task set before him again. "Where do we travel to, Turaga?" The old Turaga turned his back on the leader of the Toa Nuva. Quietly, controlling his voice with great effort, Vakama spoke to his pupil; "Leave, Tahu. Leave and don't come back until you are redeemed." The warrior looked at the hunched figure, began to protest, but then closed his mouth, and fixed his gaze on the horizon. "Farewell, Turaga. I am sorry to have failed you." The Toa of fire began walking into the desert. With every step he took, he realized more and more that he did not know where he would go, but he took each step faster and faster until he was far beyond the sight of his mentor. "Farewell, Son of flame." Murmured Vakama as Tahu vanished into the desert haze. "I pray you will find peace faster than I did."
  21. Exactly 15 years ago, on October 19, 2004, a second direct-to-video Bionicle movie called Bionicle 2: Legends of Metru Nui was released. It’s based on the 2004 storyline, as it is a prequel. It’s about the Turaga of Mata Nui as a team of Toa called the Toa Metru long ago. They were learning on how to become heroes while they were trying save their home city called Metru Nui from a mysterious evil force. Anyway, like the first film, it’s made by Miramax, as the characters look like real cyborgs. The movie also shows how the Turaga know about being Toa, using Kanohi masks, where the Mask of Time came from, where the Matoran came from, and how did Makuta put Mata Nui to sleep. Plus, we learn that Matoran can turn into Toa and then a Turaga. I watched and loved the movie. It was great and epic. I like the character development, action scenes, and Matau’s crashing-onto-stuff moments. Lol!:) I felt sad at the scene where Vakama was having self-doubts and Lhikan died.:( I like that the Toa Metru had Matoran forms and Turaga Dume looks like an actual Turaga from the first movie rather than his Matoran-like set, which looks silly on him because of what he is. Now, for the negatives, well, I have a few. The Toa don’t use their elemental powers, not every Toa has all of their weapons, the Great Disk Matoran weren’t there, the battle with the Morburakh plant wasn’t there despite the plant having a cameo, there are only the brown and black types of Vahki, and these guys use the green type’s staffs, they never shoot Kanoka, Teridax acts like that he’s talking to himself, and his giant winged forms looks like his 2003 form with wings rather than his skeletal form in his Titan combo set for some reason. Plus, like the first film, the Matoran gave this thing with red eyes and some masks commonly. So, if any of you guys watched the movie, what do you think? Anyway, happy 15th anniversary, movie! Man, it’s so long ago! Good memories. We should do something to celebrate it.:D
  22. Nostaligc question i know. Tell me your first set, and tell me the sets you got that year and the sets in following years. Dont go all the way Because memory thing and you donnt want to. Just do as much as you like one set, your first 5 sets, your first 15, etc do however many you want,i just feel loney in only doing this with myself. I am the question asker. Just thought i'd do mine and also set a template. My brother was also into bionicles, and he is olde than me, so he started it out. I consider our collection to be together. He was born1996, so he was about 7 here. i as about 2.i was born 2000 so just go with the year for my actual year. yeah im 18 now unforatenly My brother got Bohrok Va blue one in 2002. I played with it and messed it up and he got mad. 1st set My brother (possibly, dont really know. 2 set My brother got ToaMetru Matau in 2004. 3rd set My brother got Green visorak in 2005. 4th set My brother got Toa Iruini in 2005. 5th set My brother got Piraka Zaktan in his birthday (December 11) in 2005. 6th set I got Piraka Hakann. Probably my first set (how cute) in 2006. 7th set My brother got Toa Inika Nuparu, Kongu, Hahli, Matoro, Jaller and theOther one i forget, in a "I dont know" order. green, blue, white, red, black, brown My brother got Kalmah in late 2006 or early2007. My brother gotPridak and I gotEhlek. Think his missing some parts so we just used them to build my Ehlek. My dad made him do that. I kinda felt bad for him, but hey, I got my Ehlek. My brother allegedly got Toa Mahri Nuparu, hewkii and I got hahli but her parts broke . I got Maxilos and Spianx for my birthday. We got PhantokaPohatu,Lewa,Antroz and Vamprah for us on Easter 2008. (love you mom) Chrox cam shortly after. We got Strakk and I tried to build him but couldn't, so my brother just built him. I was only 8 guys. 2 WeGot Malumand Gresh on Easter 2009, Because I complained that we didn't get any bionicles that year, so later that day they were like "the easter bunny came and these guys were hiding" or some funny thing like that. We got Tarix later. Well, my brother did. I had nothing to do with him being built. We got Berix andRaanu I think. We got Glatorian Legends Mata Nui, Ackar, Vastus, Stronius (2x bcuz our friend gave his oursBcuz he couldn build him), I got Tuma, Axalarah T9, Rockoh T-3, baranus v7 for my bday. My brother got Mistika Tahu, Onua, and i gotKrika. we didnt get any more misitka, but I wish we got the other. We got all the bionicle stars.
  23. Hi, guys! Ever since Bionicle: The Legend Reborn happened in 2009, Lego had been limited with Tinseltown Toons’ Lego stuff before Lego stopped using the company in 2014, when they made that silly Hero Factory web episode called Invasion From Below. In 2003-2005, we witnessed Lego creating three direct-to-video Bionicle movies, made by Miramax, which is a Disney thing (Disney should buy Bionicle to make it healthy again. Just my opinion.), where the characters are organic-looking cyborgs rather than looking like their actual Lego sets. It’s kind of a nice feel. They were the first things in Lego media. They had some good qualities, like the dark tone of the story and good character development, despite that not all sets appear in the story, some don’t look accurate, some designs were lazily created, like some masks and the red eyes, some important story content weren’t in the movies, and there weren’t any movies in 2001-early 2003 and 2006-2008. Some designs look a little weird, like that there are no mouths behind the characters’ masks. In 2009, for some reason, Lego replaced Miramax with TT, and TT, along with Universal Studios, made The Legend Reborn, which is a loose continuation to the trilogy. The movie uses more professional and more popular voice actors rather than reusing the ones from the trilogy. This movie also is where the characters look very accurately like their sets. I mean, they are living toys, like Toy Story (Lego is into that in all other Lego media since the movie) and Bionicle Heroes video game in 2006, and some of the characters have mouth guards that open and close, and they have organic teeth. However, there are some silly things in the movies, like the spinning axles, misplacement of the pieces and armor, not all characters carry all of their weapons from their sets, like the Thornax Launchers, Mata Nui’s sword should have appeared in his canister set, not all sets appear in the movie, the script is kind of wonky, as the script seemed a little rushed and there were less action, as we see characters talk and observe things often, the Glatorian heads look like skulls opening their mouths when they talk rather than having actually lips that express emotion (tell that to The Lion King remake this year. Lol.), and some designs were made lazily, like the Skopio using stuff from the Skopio XV-1 (I mean, what was that for?). It would also be nice if Malum would fight Mata Nui if the Vorox that Mata Nui fought is one of Malum’s Vorox. Plus, the Matoran in the prologue did the same repeated design thing and red eyes thing as the original trilogy. Originally, that movie was going to be a trilogy, where the second movie coming in 2010 and the third in 2011, but it got cancelled for some reason as Bionicle’s G1 toy line got cancelled for some reason. We were left with that silly cliffhanger from The Legend Reborn. However, we got a draft of a script for the fifth Bionicle movie, which wasn’t canon anymore, and in 2010, Michael Dorn, Mata Nui’s voice actor that we know and love, narrated a series of web video slides called The Mata Nui Saga, where Mata Nui completed his mission in restoring Spherus Magna (but Michael didn’t narrate in the last slide for some reason). That’s where Greg Farshtey released a few serials that continued the G1 story, with some things explained and where we should have see the Great Beings come back, but he stopped at June 2011, where there are two unfinished serials, thus the story is unfinished (what good comes out of that. Please finish the story for sake of us. Seriously. I wish Disney could help with that, too). Then, we have that TV short called Lego Altantis and Lego: The Adventures of Clutch Powers in 2010, which were made by the creators of The Legend Reborn. They follow the same pattern as The Legend Reborn, but they are original stories, so some of the cons that I mentioned are fixed, but there are no sequels for them (there should be, though, because the Atlantis toy line continued in 2011 and Clutch Powers has a cliffhanger). Plus, the Atlantis short has some cons, like the designs don’t like their sets for some reason and not all sets appeared in the short. Then, the Hero Factory TV show happened, it was made by the creators of The Legend Reborn, too. Like The Legend Reborn, the show is based on a constraction theme and followed the same pattern, but like Atlantis and Clutch Powers, it has an original story, so some of the cons that I mentioned are fixed, as the characters look like actual robots. However, there are still some problems, like not all characters have their weapons from their sets, the script is sort of wonky, as there are some cliffhangers and unresolved things, there are ten episodes that are like specials where they deceased by one episode every year, some characters look like their prototype sets, like Rotor’s gray shoulder armor, not all sets appear in the show, like Vapor, Thornraxx, XT4, Core Hunter, Breez’s Breakout form, Bulk’s Breakout form, and Nex’s Breakout form, some designs are lazily made, like Toxic Reapa’s eye color and Arachnix, which was never used as a gun, and reused, the release dates for the episodes weren’t announced immediately, not all episodes are released in DVD for some reason while the DVDs that had the episodes were wonky and never had scene selections for some reason, and there are some noticeable production mistakes, like scratches on some of the characters’ armor appear out of nowhere (if Disney decides to buy HF, too, it should fix all of those problems). Talk about false advertising a little bit. Some fans like to think that Bionicle and HF share the same universe, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, because of TT. In 2014, for some reason, Lego stopped using TT for some reason, and Invasion From Below was made by different companies while HF got cancelled in that year for some reason. However, that episode and many other Lego media, like Bionicle: The Legend Reborn, followed the same pattern as the TT stuff, while most of them, like Ninjago, Legends of Chima, and Nexo Knights did a much better job with most of the characters and the scripts, even though some things seem like false advertising, like not all of them included everything from the sets. Along the way, Bionicle’s 2015 online shorts, Mixels and Unikitty did similarly while being 2-D animated. So, my point of this topic is this: What’s your review on TT’s Lego stuff and what’s up with them? For me, well, TT did a good job copying the sets, but it was kind of cheap with many qualities, like the accuracies to the sets and the scripts, which caused some inaccuracies to happen and the scripts to be wonky. Their stuff weren’t as popular as Ninjago or the Lego Movies. What do you think, guys? Do you think TT deserves a second chance?
  24. {Main Story Topic} Pretty self-evident, I think. Questions, comments, reviews, all is welcome.
  25. WALL OF HISTORY Hey BZPower! Many of you are probably familiar with Wall of History, the web archive of the BIONICLE story I launched earlier this year (which is linked to above). While the BZPower forums were down, Wall of History received a significant update, and given that my original discussion thread rolled over the revival limit during that downtime, I thought it'd be a good idea to start a new one. Here's an overview of the changes made in the Big Update: The site received a visual upgrade — all the pages now use the light-on-dark color scheme that was previously exclusive to the Legends of Metru Nui and Web of Shadows chapters, and the headers have been tweaked. Virtually all remaining story media — most notably, all the remaining novels, short stories, and story serials — was added to the site. (There are still a few miscellaneous things I'm planning on adding, like the rest of those little McDonald's comics, but basically the entire story is available now). Animations have finally been added! The MNOG pages now have the relevant cutscenes (at their original 18 FPS, thanks to the wonderful Peri), the (BIONICLE.com) Wall of History pages have their animations (also at the correct frame rate), and the Vahki animations and The Search for the Mask of Light are available. The map has been improved, and now has two companion pages — a sources page, where you can sort media by type (comic, novel, serial, etc.), and a search page, where you can search the contents of the archive. We now have an events page. Join our book club. We have giveaways, and we do movie streams sometimes. I'm also now working on adding all the BIONICLE guides to the site, which you may have already noticed if you visited the sources page linked above. (This was not part of the Big Update, but also happened while the forums were down.) I started working on the guides pretty recently, so the only one we've got at the moment is Metru Nui • City of Legends. I think that about covers everything that's happened with Wall of History since June. I'd really appreciate any feedback y'all might have!
